Relais Roncolo 1888

We had a fantastic stay at Roncolo 1888. The property is beautiful, and they’ve done an amazing job renovating the old villa. It still has all of its original charm and character, but with the comfort and conveniences you’d expect from a luxury hotel. Our room was very comfortable, and the staff really stood out. Everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. They made us feel genuinely welcome and well taken care of without ever being overbearing, which is a balance that’s surprisingly hard to get right. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was excellent. Between the food, the wine, and the setting, it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. The pool was another highlight. For a 17-room property, it’s a great size, and there were always plenty of loungers available, so it never felt busy or crowded. We aLeo appreciated was the location. The nearby towns are absolutely worth exploring. They’re not touristy at all. They’re places where people actually live and go about their daily lives. It made the whole experience feel much more authentic, and we loved getting a glimpse of the region beyond the usual tourist stops. Be sure to stop into Bio Bio in Montecavolo for a gelato—the biscotti Della nonna flavor was some of the best we’ve had. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, unplug for a couple of days, and enjoy great food in a beautiful part of Italy, I can’t recommend Roncolo 1888 highly enough.

This place is magical and quite luxury wow it’s spectacular. I just can’t imagine missing out on this place so special.

What a wonderful oasis of calm. My partner and I were treated with care, kindness and nothing was too much effort for the warm and friendly hotel staff. Fantastic rooms, beautiful swimming pool, great food and views to die for. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return. Truly outstanding.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Relais Roncolo 1888, truly a highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely special. Their warmth and attention to detail made all the difference. The property itself is stunning, warm and cozy while still feeling elegant, historic, and full of charm. It’s the perfect place to unwind and fully immerse yourself in the experience. The food at the restaurant was delicious, we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there, and each meal was exceptional. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was the balsamic vinegar tasting—an absolute must-do! This is such a unique and special property that instantly allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday. We can’t recommend it highly enough and would return in a heartbeat!

We had just one night at this wonderful place. The location is fantastic, the surroundings epic and the hospitality second to none. Special mention to Michael who went above and beyond with all his assistance and the Christo, who transformed our meal experience into a culinary journey. Both food and wine were superb.
