Located in a building that, once upon a time, was head office for the National Bank of Canada, Hotel 71 is a stunning example of 19th century neo-classic architecture. The lobby is a welcome breath of modernity, with limestone walls and a walnut ceiling. The simple and elegant design glows in the sunlight that beams through the massive windows found in each room, some situated perfectly to offer views of the St. Lawrence and the city’s Old Port. All rooms are furnished with a spacious work desk, a DVD surround sound system and wireless internet access. The "Il Matto" Italian restaurant is consistently ranked amongst the best in the city.

This boutique hotel is nice, clean, and it a great location for exploring Old Quebec. There are lots of cute shops and restaurants in the area. You can walk to the castle or take the fenicular. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit cold because the windows were drafty, but we just closed the drapes and it was fine.

My stay at hotel 71 was exceptional. From the moment I arrived up to the time I checked out the experience was nothing but fantastic. I arrived earlier than my check in time and the concierge got me a room immediately. All of the staff were very friendly, inviting, and professional. The room was clean and the amenities were great. Room service was done everyday and was done discreetly so that guests weren’t bothered as they were working and the cleaning ladies were respectful of your belongings. Noise level was perfect. I never once experienced any loud or disruptive noise during my whole stay. The hotel is situated in a prime location. It’s minutes away from the ferry terminal, la petit Champlain, and the famous hotel de Frontenac. The room I stayed in was a quaint and cozy modern styled space that was very comfortable. Overall I loved it and would recommend this hotel. I will definitely come back!

Hotel 71 o perfectly located in the lower area of Quebec City. We were able to walk to all the sights, with many restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are modern and nice and the buffet breakfast is delicious. The L’Occitane products in the bathrooms are divine. The service at the hotel was above and beyond. The room service ladies were helpful with anything we needed. The girls at the front desk were extremely accommodating at every turn with Angy and Rozi helping us to order delicious Poutine to the hotel on Christmas Day with many places closed. Thank you to the staff at Hotel 71. You are the best! ❤️

Roushan was wonderful, he accommodated all of our requests and gave us 5 star service! Our suite was beautiful with a fantastic view of the Chateau, maid service was timely even when we had our do not disturb on until late in the morning. Matto restaurant attached to the hotel had fabulous atmosphere and delicious food! Great location close to all the activities we were interested in but also located on a quiet street away from lots of activity. Five star experience without the $$$$$!

We had a top floor room (7th floor) with a beautiful view and a comfortable king size bed. Although nice to look at, there was a draft coming from the windows as they face the river. The staff were very accommodating bringing us an additional heater and comforter. The L’Occitane toiletries were a nice surprise as was the single-serve coffee maker in the room. Plenty of fresh water refills were available on the 5th floor. Breakfast (not included in the price of the room) was a good spread of croissants, breads, fruit, yogurts, hard boiled eggs and charcuterie. Coffee, fresh juice and a vast array of teas were very nice. The location is quiet and a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the upper level, albeit it’s a bit of a hassle getting to the upper level during the winter season. If you’re looking for art galleries and antique shops they’re plentiful here. Nearby Bistro St. Malo or Louise Taverne are great choices for meals. We also enjoyed the charming Le Packwood Cafe on rue St. Paul. Great hot chocolate and homemade soup. Perfect for a snowy day. Overall Hotel 71 is a stylish and cozy place to stay with friendly and helpful staff.
