Good location for visiting the old town. Room very pleasant (if a little on the small side). Very clean. Asked - and got - a kettle for us tea drinkers. Great shower. There was an event on in the square at the front of the hotel over the weekend that blasted out (quite terrible) music over the weekend which was rather annoying until it stopped at 23h each evening. Not the hotel's fault but was a slight impact.

I recently surprised my husband with a birthday trip to Quebec. I actually had no expectations for what we would encounter in this place we had never been to, and we were so pleasantly pleased with everything, especially our stay at Le Capitole. First of all, the location could not be any better; being at the gateway to the old city, everything was accessible on foot. We were able to wander the charming and quaint town all day and night, and return each evening to our "new home" for a nightcap and a fabulous view. Le Capitole staff was so welcoming and accommodating from the minute we arrived. Elina, at the front desk, was so sweet and helpful during our entire stay. Of course, the rest of the staff was just as incredible. Being that we stayed for 7 nights, we got to know everyone from the doormen to the chamberhousekeeper and, of course, the restaurant staff at Il Teatro and the Clubby Bar. I highly recommend anyone looking to have a magnifique experience and a splendide hotel stay to choose Le Capitole.

Excellent location for exploring, spectacular room with balcony, lucky to see two nights with fireworks, very comfortable beds, nice shower, all staff exceptional and kind to guests who only speak English, great breakfast (for a fee), security felt a step above others as you have to go through a 7th floor lobby to get to the guest-only elevators

The reception is on the 7th floor and we were greeted warmly. Once check-in was complete, the hotel layout was explained we were, taken to our room in the new building of the hotel. The hotel used to be a theatre, used for various other things, then closed down, renovated and re opened as the La Capitole Hotel. Our room was on the 5th floor, Room 511 and it was very spacious. As you walk in, a wardrobe to your right with a safe, drawers, a steamer, hangers and spare pillows. Next up is the bathroom which is large. A single vanity with 4 hand towels, 4. Face cloths, 2 face cloths for makeup, 4 towels, hair dryer, a large walk-in shower with rain head coming down from the ceiling and a handheld. The water pressure is good and so is the temperature. No shower door, but a shower curtain. Once back in the main room, a single luggage shelf with a shallow drawer underneath, a sideboard with 2 deeper drawers and a wall mounted tv above it. Next along this wall is a desk, quite narrow, but is has the phone, a radio, and charge station for your technology. Another unit that houses the bar fridge, glasses and snacks. By the window is a comfy chair, a small coffee table and a couch and a larger round coffee table. The bed is a king with 4 large pillows. The bed is comfy and the pillows are pretty good too. There are charging points for your phone too. Within the bed head, there is also another charging station on each side of the bed. There is no carpet, no rug, just vinyl flooring. The rooms are decorated beautifully and so are the hallways. Connecting from the new building to the old along one wall is a gallery of artwork. They are beautiful, but expensive just like all art. Staff that we have come across are very nice, also welcoming. In reception, there is seating and a coffee machine. There is a restaurant on the ground level, El Teatro where we at breakfast most mornings and dinner one night when is was raining. The hotel is in an excellent location, across the road is a taxi rank, the bus stop and a theatre. It is also just outside the wall. Be prepared, Quebec City has a lot of hills and stairs, but it is easy to get around on foot.
