We travelled the North & South islands of New Zealand for 20 days staying in unique, diverse, quality lodgings. Hulbert House was our favourite sojourn, hands down. This lovely villa has seen many transformations over its 100 plus years. Now as a boutique hotel with its custom broadloom and English wallpaper, it offers luxury and elegance. Tav warmly welcomed us and gave us an overview of the boutique hotel and Queenstown. Our room, on the ground floor with spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains, had a comfortable king bed with quality linens, a wardrobe, desk, mini fridge, kettle, a selection of teas, a plunger coffee maker, coffee beans replenished daily and a coffee grinder. A beautiful soaker tub (and shower) completed the ensuite bathroom. But more than the furniture and fixings, we enjoyed the hospitality of Tav, Chris and Jay and the entire team, the nightly drinks and canapés (where we had lively conversations with fellow guests) and the superb breakfasts. Hulbert House will without question, be our most memorable stay in beautiful New Zealand. Thank you for your masterful hospitality!

This beautiful and intimate boutique hotel was the highlight of our New Zealand trip. Every one of the staff are exceptional and make you feel both like royalty and family. The rooms are beautifully appointed with every comfort you need. The beds were so comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help us plan meals and excursions and anything we needed. I hope to come back one day and experience this exceptional property again. Jay and Chris were so helpful during our time and we were so grateful for all of their accommodations.

hey really made our stay nice in every way possible. Greeted us by name when we checked in and made us feel very welcome. The room was gorgeous with high ceilings and lovely furniture. They even gave us a lift down the hill for dinner. Lovely B&B

My husband and I stayed here mid-trip on our honeymoon. Absolutely gorgeous Inn, with a fabulous friendly staff - I was sad to leave them. Tavi and Sasha were so wonderful. The room was immaculately clean, and the staff could not have been more accommodating when we asked about getting our laundry done. The morning breakfast was delicious. It was a 5 minute walk into downtown Queenstown. Perfect location. Can't wait to go back!

Always wanted to stay here. Lived up to the hype. Stayed with my husband and my mum as a birthday getaway. Simply amazing. Have stayed at alot of places in Queenstown and this is definitely one of the best. Particularly if you enjoy boutique accommodation! Beautiful rooms, amazing views, lovely gardens, homemade sweets always available- a bit dangerous for your waistline but oh well. The view from our room upstairs and from the front patio is, in my opinion, one of the best views of the Queenstown Lake I've seen. Short walk into town. Will be even shorter when the road works are done. Staff amazing and look after you so well they make you feel like you're the only guests staying. Tav welcoming us and treating us like family, even driving into town to get us one night because we got stuck in the rain. Chris making me better margaritas than most restaurants do these days. Laura making me a pot of 'wellness' tea when I woke up feeling under the weather. Honestly do yourself a favour and stay here. My brother (who had stayed at Hulbert House a few months prior to us) was going to propose to his partner at the Amisfield winery but ended up proposing at Hulbert House instead because it was just so picturesque. The only problem with our stay is that now we won't be able to stay anywhere in the world without comparing it to Hulbert House......
