Nice place but it has a few hick-ups.

I recently stayed for 2 nights with a girlfriend in a Cliff house room. I have been to this property several times over the years going back to when it was Cave B. My friend had not stayed before, and I wanted this to be a nice experience for her first time. Well....it wasn't quite the super great experience I was hoping for. I had made our reservations in early May for our room, dinner at Tendrils and spa treatments for both of us. Two days before our arrival I received an email stating that our dinner reservations had been canceled. No reason why, no explanation. I was a bit miffed, so I called them to find out what was the reason. The gal simply said "That's weird, we cancelled those reservations back in May. You should have received that email then" I said no that I had just received the email. I then asked why they were cancelled, and she said they weren't doing the Tendrils dinner any longer on Tuesday and Wednesday. She did inform me that they had pizza among other small dishes. I wasn't happy as I had told my girlfriend how vert good Tendrils was. But we had no choice. Upon checking in for our room the gal at the front desk found our reservations quickly and said you will be in Cliff house #1 which she said was her favorite one. I was happy to hear that as again my girlfriend had never been, and I told her how nice the rooms are with the patios and views of the river and canyon. When we got to the room, I was rather disappointed as our room had no view of the river. I called the front desk and asked if they had another room available and they said no. I am not sure why the gal said this was one of her favorite rooms as I have stayed in a few of the other rooms all with nice views of the river. The room itself was perfectly fine, but next time I stay I will ask for any room but #1. We spent some time at the pool, zero complaints there and will mention that they had plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. They did not always have all those umbrellas in the past. Dinner was ok. The pizza was ok but not great. Funny I overheard another couple who sat at a table next to us being disappointed about the fact they only had pizza to choose from. She told her guy friend that she was pretty upset how they just received an email the day before that cancelled the Tendrils reservation. I couldn't help but share our similar story with them. They too were not happy about it. Breakfast has changed as well. You just order your breakfast from the coffee stand and then they bring it out to you. You do not have a lot of choices either. I liked the old way they did it before. Our time at the spa was the best thing on this trip. Both of our services were top notch. It's a nice, clean relaxing atmosphere. If I lived closer, I would return just for the spa treatments alone. Sagecliffe is a nice place. I am sure I will visit them again, but it is not a perfect place for sure, especially with the cost of your stay there.

Sunrise on the Columbia

Delightful views of the Columbia from our room, bird song, fire pits to enjoy, comfy beds and bath. Our meal at the restaurant was more than just good and the ceasar salad was wow and my husband who knows wine, purchased a good bottle at what he thought was a fair price. Service was welcoming and fast. No complaints!

Girls trip

I went on a birthday trip with my sisters to Sagecliff and we all had the best time!!! The restaurant was delicious and the views were spectacular. We all also got massages at the spa and it was exactly what we needed. Prior to our massage we had a chance to talk with our masseuse to make sure we got exactly what we needed!! We all had slightly different but all round an amazing experience. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a crowd free, quiet, and relaxing weekend. We also stopped by the winery and it had a great relaxing vibe.

Nice stay -pricey (150 cleaning fee for one night stay)

We had a nice stay here for a group gathering - in February. Fluffy snowfall made the area striking - the units were warm and cozy and well stocked. That said, 175 fee for one night plus 150 cleaning fee - makes me question the value. This place must be a BLAST in the summer when the artists stay there to play at the gorge. I am sure those units are super expensive but with the pool open and people dining outside - it must be amazing.

Lovely facility with extra firm beds...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

It's winter so we expected an off season pace without considering that the restaurant would have limited choices but the food was fine with great choices for wine. The Cliffhouses have amazing views but be prepared for extra firm beds. After the first sleepless night we requested a room change but the bed in the room we were shown was just as hard.
