I did a lot of research of hotels before this trip because I was looking for a certain level of service and aesthetics and I say Alila did not disappoint: the service feels very personal, genuine and heartfelt - we had so many nice conversations especially with Arya and the amazing team at Yakitori bar (thank you guys!!), which is simply the best place to enjoy a nice breeze and a beautiful view of the ocean. Simply from your chair you’ll see baby sharks swimming by and rays jumping out of the water. The Japanese food was outstanding including the Teppanyaki experience. The seafood buffet disappointed a bit as compared to other resorts of this quality and was no “wow” event, but everything else was top notch including breakfast with a very wide, creative selection and great special dishes every day. Villas are beautifully designed, have a great layout and most of them very private. Service here was also great with your own villa host - in our case the wonderful Yoonus - to fulfill all your wishes. We opted for the beach villa since we like the sand under our feet. The activities at the Spa are also highly recommended - Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation - the team did such a wonderful job. Thank you for a great stay, can’t wait for my stay in Alila Villas Uluwatu in a couple of weeks 😉

We had a wonderful stay at Alila.. The resort is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and well maintained, with stunning views, a calm atmosphere and elegant villas that feel private and luxurious. The staff were kind, attentive and always willing to help, which made the whole experience feel very comfortable and special. The food, housekeeping and overall service were excellent, and the island itself is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the Maldives.

A wonderful stay that lived up to every expectation. The Maldives delivered exactly what we’d dreamed of—glowing turquoise water and chalk-white silver sand. The Resort & Rooms: The hardware is flawless. All three rooms we stayed in were in beautiful condition, and I loved every one of them. The thoughtful touches stood out—Alila even ships amenities over from their Bali property, right down to insect repellent and sunscreen. The beach villa had a few mosquitoes, but that’s to be expected and didn’t bother us. The resort seemed fully booked throughout our stay, but the staff were warm and welcoming, which made all the difference. Dining: Seasalt was the highlight—excellent food spanning cuisines from around the world, with genuinely friendly service. Over five days we worked our way through nearly the entire menu and were rarely disappointed. One server in particular went above and beyond and became great friends with our little one; we’re so grateful to him. Snorkeling: A real treat. We spotted sharks and rays right off the resort, along with plenty of fish and some coral. The Maldives is breathtaking. A couple of honest notes: The Japanese restaurant was a letdown—I ordered ramen and was served udon instead (and not a particularly good bowl of it), and the sashimi was unremarkable. The kids’ Play area was also fairly basic. One nice surprise: the island is wonderfully low-key—there’s no pressure to join activities, so you can simply relax at your own pace. Overall, a relaxing and lovely stay. Thank you to the team for taking such good care of us, especially with a little one in tow.
