This was my very first time visiting the Maldives, and I completely fell in love with it! My stay at the InterContinental resort was absolutely amazing. Every single member of the staff, from the team members to the general manager, was incredibly kind and welcoming. A special thanks goes to our brother "Sherif", who made our experience even more special and made us love the place even more with his outstanding hospitality. We had an unforgettable trip, and God willing, we will definitely be returning very soon!

Not sure where to start with intercontinental Maamangu resort. We have been fortunate to have travelled globally for the past 30 years and stayed in some of the best hotel groups, including Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Auberge etc and without hesitation I can say the customer service was in a different league and has now set a new benchmark for excellence which I think will be impossible to beat. Firstly the location is simply spectacular. This was our 4th trip to the Maldives and the location on the edge of the largest lagoon in the country provides an abundance of sheltered water sports and access to the spectacular wildlife. The house reef is certainly equal to the best we’ve experienced so far. Hanifaru bay is just a 40 minute boat ride away where we witnessed up to 100 manta and the illusive whale shark which we’ve never seen in the Maldives to this point. We couldn’t fault the food, it was consistent in its variety and quality, the only observation was the portion sizes were huge for us, we always felt guilty not finishing! But as always a holiday is truly made special by the people. Everyone we engaged with was friendly but genuinely friendly and warm, it’s clear the staff here are well looked after and management deserves credit for creating a culture to allow that to happen. A few standouts during our 12 nights: Iyaaz our curator, always at hand, a young man with abundance of passion for his role, a pleasure to deal with. Vipan at the Retreat, kind, open and professional, I’d hire him in a second! Gopal the Beverage Manager, again sweet, kind and a joy to be around. Sweaty at Umi, massively charismatic and charming, she went over and above for our daughter’s 18th birthday celebration. Sanjay the pancake chef at Umi who managed to always have our daughter’s breakfast pancake ready to go! Shanaz chef at the Retreat, who daily produced amazing healthy and tasty offerings for our lunch. And without question the most visible, engaged and caring management duo, Chris the resort manager and Reinhold the GM who were ever present checking in on us and ensuring our absolute satisfaction. Well done to both of you for creating such a great culture where your team are so naturally able to deliver such a high level of service. We can’t wait to return!
