InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort

I have not long returned from a very special honeymoon for "me, myself and I" at this beautiful resort! I was anxious about hitting the Maldives alone as a renowned destination for honeymooners but that anxiety was immediately shut down upon arrival and I genuinely never felt alone during my entire stay. 9 days was actually not long enough here!!! Arriving on a boat, I was welcomed by the main team leads. I was impressed that staff immediately knew who I was amongst the travel group without me saying a word and that prior e-mail communications were acknowledged and processed. Us Brits tend to stick out like a sore thumb though! This really is an outstanding hotel with exceptional staff in all departments. I stayed in one of the over water villas. The sunrise side is on a coral reef with the most beautiful aquarium to explore. I'd recommend it above the other residences. I tried to do as many events as possible but the weather was sadly unpredictable this season. I do highly recommend the sunset dolphin cruise - the dive centre staff are extremely talented and determined, ensuring that you have a special experience. For the fitness freaks, the gym is well equipped with some outstanding views across the Indian Ocean. I made a point of going every day to keep my personal journey going. The hotel has recently taken on Chris Bird who is one of the most attentive, warming and genuinely wonderful managers that I have ever met! Thank you for making this much needed break one to remember. You are already missed and I am sure that many great things will follow! I am indebted to my main personal curator Siyaag who planned everything for me from start to end and kept me on my toes. Absolutely exceptional and unexpected service every day and I was blessed to have had him allocated to me. Also to Sherif who stepped in temporarily but still engaged with me thereafter. Both such awesome guys! A special mention has to be given to Shafa, Jocelyn and Solanki for their exceptional hospitality from start to end - you each played a massive part in my solo healing journey and are an absolute asset to the hotel. As the title suggests, solo traveller's should absolutely give this place a shot! I promise that you won't regret it! Thank you IC Maldives for everything, I am very much hoping to return next year!

It was great 4 days here, Manta activity was nice, there is also football pitch and game which I loved, nice season of the year, special thanks to Sherif Abdulaziz for arranging everything for us and Sayel for cleaning our room perfectly

I'd like to thank all the hotel staff, especially the ISHAQ beach staff. Everyone is very polite, they solve any problem, and are always helpful! The reef is magnificent, with a truly amazing variety of fish! The food is good, they try to make Russian dishes like syrniki (syrniki), Olivier salad, and porridge! We'll definitely be back.

Our stay at the Intercontinental Maldives has been incredible! Our travel curator was amazing and made the stay even more perfect and the attention to detail from all the staff was truly impressive! I would highly recommend staying here and have had the best honeymoon here, not only because of the stunning scenery, but every person in the intercontinental team. Thank you all so much!
