A wonderful location, crystal clear water, a rich and vibrant reef, clean and green territory, it’s clear that a colossal amount of work has been done with landscaping! The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff is top-notch—not intrusive, yet very attentive! It feels like they love us and are happy to fulfill any of our requests! We stayed in both the water villa and the beach villa! We loved both! The island design, spacious, comfortable, and the air conditioning works great! There are buggies all over the island that arrive quickly, and each villa has its own bicycles, which are a great pleasure to ride every day!

If you’re searching for a truly exceptional holiday, this is the place. I know “perfect” is a word people hesitate to use, because nothing ever really is, but our stay at the InterContinental Maldives comes remarkably close. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless. We landed early in the morning with our toddler, who was more than ready to stretch his legs after a long flight. As soon as we stepped out of baggage claim, Fikree and Zeenath were there to greet us with warm smiles. Within minutes, they had guided us through check-in for the seaplane and escorted us to the terminal, efficient, effortless, and exactly what you need after traveling with a little one. The lounge offered our first glimpse of the resort’s style: clean, calm, and beautifully understated. Zeenath went out of her way to keep our toddler entertained while we enjoyed some delicious baked treats before boarding. Then came the seaplane journey, an experience in itself. Whether you love flying or simply appreciate breathtaking views, soaring over the Maldives’ turquoise waters is unforgettable. Our arrival at the island felt like something out of a dream, drums playing, staff waving, and an atmosphere full of warmth and celebration. That’s when we met Iyaaz, our coordinator, who would go on to become the highlight of our entire trip. The days that followed were filled with incredible food and even more incredible people. The Fish Market’s nasi goreng stands out as one of the best I’ve ever had, even compared to many trips to Indonesia. But what truly made the experience special was the team: Ibrahim, Arya, Sweetie, Min, Hasim, Ashraf, Sami, Jelyn, Bek, Era (the wonderful photographer) and so many others who treated us not just as guests, but as family. It’s clear that the leadership, from Reinhold to Chris, has created something special here. The staff aren’t just attentive, they’re genuinely passionate and caring. Seeing them check in with guests personally each evening was a thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed. We also had the chance to spend some time with Chris, who joined us on the nurse shark experience. It was a real pleasure getting to know him, and it gave us a clearer sense of why the team works so well together. Good leadership makes a difference, and it definitely shows here. The natural beauty of the resort is just as impressive. The house reef is vibrant and full of life, with some of the most colourful fish you’ll ever see. We snorkelled with nurse sharks, experienced manta rays, and even tried a discovery dive with the fantastic Pearl, each moment more memorable than the last. What stood out most for us, though, was how thoughtfully our toddler was cared for. From a personalised bracelet on arrival to the warm, attentive service in every restaurant, and the wonderful experiences at Planet Trekkers kids club, everything was designed to make family travel feel easy and enjoyable. And then there’s Iyaaz. “Above and beyond” doesn’t quite do him justice. He treated us with such genuine care, it felt as though we were part of his own family. When we left our son at the kids club during a manta excursion, Iyaaz personally checked in on him throughout the day, made sure he was fed, and even sent us photos so we could relax and enjoy ourselves. On our final day, he joined us for a snorkel and guided us around the reef, pointing out marine life we would never have spotted on our own. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on all of us. Leaving the resort felt like saying goodbye to family in paradise. We’re already looking forward to returning.
