The opulence and beauty of Italy's storied past is told within the walls of Sicily's Antica Badia Relais Hotel. Borrowing its name from the Italian phrase meaning "ancient abbey", Antica Badia pays homage to the region's history in eloquent detail, from the soaring Roman arches over entryways to the perfectly preserved 18th century ceramic flooring. Masterfully redesigned and recently reopened, historians and international jet-setters alike will find the perfect vacation destination in the richness and classic style of Antica Badia Relais Hotel. Boasting just twelve expansive rooms and suites, each space is uniquely designed and thoughtfully appointed, offering every guest a piece of history. The finest Italian textiles drape the arched windows that draw abundant natural light into the airy, spacious rooms. Simple and sophisticated in design, plush custom furnishings and elegant details like vaulted ceilings add character to the traditional beauty of each room, while an attentive, yet unobtrusive staff exceeds your every expectation with turndown service, in-room dining, and 24-hour concierge service.

Good location near pedestrian street and huge church. 1 minute walk to a few casual eateries on the pedestrian street. Garage parking 2 minutes away. Quirky room layout adds to the ambiance. Breakfast room [and food] made for a pleasant start to the day. Staff kind of stiff. Small showers. Laundry price ridiculous.

Wonderfully elegant hotel in Ragusa- excellent location opposite Cathedral, short walk from train and bus station and a short walk from Ragusa Ibla. Ideal location for exploring the Val di Noto. The rooms are beautiful and as promised very quiet, public spaces are exquisite. The breakfast room is stunning. Everyone working at the hotel are lovely and I do hope to meet them again one day- I really would like to return. I very much appreciate their kindness. Breakfast was amazing, there was always something new to try and coffee ws fantastic. Thank you so much! I can not recommend Relais Antica Badia San Maurizio 1619 enough. Because they were so beautiful I took photos of my two favourite rooms.

This is a boutique hotel and as such the hotel is fitted into an old quirky building and not the other way around. Hence don't come with the expectation of entering a Marriott. The staff is super attentive and really cares for clients. The rooms are very nice and modern - with a touch to them since the building is so old. The breakfast is great and worthy of a much bigger hotel. They have a nice roof terrasse with a view of the cathedral. Note that the hotel is not in Ragusa Ibla - which, if you are first time in Ragusa, you may miss out on. 30min walk to Ibla - but this was perfectly fine for us. We did not try the Spa - but we will be back!

This is a lovely property in a charming area of Ragusa. It is not in old town, but we enjoyed the location. Easy street parking. Across from a beautiful cathedral and close to good restaurants, excellently recommended by the front desk. We booked a superior room with a balcony and a view. The room was not very large, but nicely appointed with the most comfortable bed ever in Italy. Nice linens and top quality toiletries. I would recommend an internal view, our “view” was negligible and the balcony too small to make practical use of. The street was noisy with the window open. Good soundproofing. We made use of the Turkish bath- which is not a bath but a steam room and not particularly hot. Complementary drink on the roof, you do need to go to the front desk to order it. The breakfast was stellar, set in a charming baroque reception room. The employees were all top.

Beautiful restored 18th century palace, very friendly and professional staff, great breakfast, excellent location, large underground parking lot (Palazzo dell'Aquila) less than 100m away. Luca's advice on restaurants and places to go is peerless.
