The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur

This hotel was unlike any other that we had stayed in. Our room was in its own little villa, set in picturesque and immaculate grounds, with ornate ponds, pagodas, wonderful plants, flowers and tress, with peacocks roaming. All you can hear were the birds in the trees, and the gentle sound of water babbling over stones - an absolute oasis of calm. Our room had a four poster bed, shutters on the windows, and a sunken marble bath that looked out onto its own little private garden. The food in the main restaurant was great, particularly the Indian dishes, and there was live Indian music and dancing out on the terrace. We did not get to try the specialty Indian menu restaurant, as it was closed for a private function on the evening we wanted to dine there, but I hear the dishes are superb. The service the staff provide is second to none, and every wish is catered for, without doubt the best service we have ever received, with every detail noted and acted on by the team. Absolutely wonderful.

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The location, facilities, food, but most of all the staff, have been wonderful. We had to extend our stay because my wife was unwell and the whole team was fantastic. Special mentions to Triambika in the restaurant and Swetha and Anisha who looked after our room, who all went above e and beyond. A truly life affirming experience.

I celebrated our 37th Wedding anniversary at the Oberoi Raj Vilas. It was an incredible experience with the Oberoi Team pulling out all stops in service and attention to detail. We travel a lot worldwide and I rate this stay one of the best !

From the moment I alighted from the aircraft at Jaipur to departure, I recognised the hand of sophisticated, caring and highly professional hospitality. The transfer from Oberoi Mumbai to Oberoi Rajvilas via Air India was an object lesson in first-world travel. Entirely effortless. Once at the property, all the right things happened to make me feel settled in quickly. Mahika cleverly emphasised connection over bureuacracy. Orientation from Pranjali meant I understood the layout of this magnificent property and how to exploit the room within minutes. Clothes were sent for pressing, and so I could quickly get on with the serious business of observing the ravishingly beautiful Peacocks in my garden. I have learnt so much from various GMs of the Oberoi, and Rajvilas, was no exception. I knew after meeting Vishal Virmani that I was going to be carried through this part of Oberoi Exotic Adventure with the maximum care, kindness and attention to detail. The Oberoi brand is an object lesson in highy visible management. The Guide for my Jaipur deep dive, Govind-Ji, was superb; knowledgeable, responsive and charming, and my driver, Shridhar, performed the necessary miracles required for driving in a busy Indian City. The executive chef at Rajmahal Chef Veeram took the Indian Culinary experience to another level, and once we got into the swing on the second night, able to match my modest appetite with fascinating Indian Cuisine. I was really impressed with the wine pairing and the duo, playing Raga's and Indian Lullaby's, rounded off the atmosphere under the stars as one revelled in Veeram's cooking. The service team were spot on. My room, a tented villa, was full of romance and the last word in luxury. This element of my adventure delivered everything and more. Thank you.
