Ranthambhore National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957 and in 1974 it gained the protection of the Government of India’s Project Tiger conservation programme. Since then, the numbers of resident tigers have been increasing thanks to dedicated conservation efforts in the area. Ranthambhore National Park is also home to Ranthambhore Fort: a vast UNESCO World Heritage Site that overlooks the park and dates back one thousand years.

Overall, our stay at the Vanyavilas exceeded our expectations. The manager Ratina seemed to be everywhere from morning to night fulfilling any and all needs expressed by the guests. She is very perceptive and initiated a number of contacts when things were beginning to go unbalanced. The food from Chef Atharva had the most subtle blend of flavors. I was so impressed that I had a cooking class from Chef Satyam and was very pleased with the freshness of the ingredients and his technique and attention to detail. Also the table service was friendly, attentive and personalized. We are particularly impressed with Aditya who remembered all of our preferences. In addition fantastic service was also provided by Kipa, Kuna and Dhwani. Dinner under the stars had a festive, romantic atmosphere created by Kunal accompanied by a great service from Dhwani. The naturalist Dhruvraj provided a terrific and thorough walk of the grounds. Ratina and all of her employees create a magical stay at this beautiful hotel.

Just the most incredible experience from the moment we arrived. The hotel cannot do enough for you and every detail thought about. Point to note if going on safari no phones allowed so take a camera! Also for morning drives wrap up with layers and maybe a hat although ponchos and blankets provided. Would come back in a heartbeat.

It’s all about the Safaris. We had an unbelievable morning safari, encountering a couple of Tigers up close savoring a recent kill. Up close. The Oberoi guides (private) were incredible. The property is small (28 tents), well landscaped, and intimate. The tents are beautiful and well designed. Not much to do there other than a life changing Tiger Safari. Management is very attentive and friendly. We had a luggage issue with Indigo Air (terrible airline) and Oberoi solved the riddle, even though our airport was 3 hours away. If you visit India this has to be top of your list. To see Nature up close while being pampered is special.
