Terranea Resort

The oceanfront Casita had amazing views of the ocean, Catalina Island, and the cliffs of Palos Verdes. My husband and I slept like babies. The peacefulness and tranquility were awesome. The entire staff in every corner were very courteous, fun, and professional.

Amazing experience, super luxury hotel and villas on the most beautiful property you will ever see, with great trails, beautiful plants, amazing views of the ocean, with like 5 different restaurants with different cuisines all on the same property, in addition to the best gym i've ever seen in a hotel, and a spa. There was also obviously amazing service and whatever. If you can afford it it is probably the best possible hotel to experience southern California. We stayed in a villa, and it was very nice, worth the price, but again what stood out was the beauty of the views and grounds. your landscaping crew does an amazing job.

A friend and I had brunch in the lobby bar. The food and drinks were exceptional. We had the best service from Mariah and Carson. Mariah was attentive and friendly. Carson's positivity, friendliness & big smile were the highlight of our visit. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday brunch!

I went to Terranea for a girl’s weekend and we generally had a lovely time. The resort itself is beautiful. Well-kept and the grounds and landscaping are spectacular. We stayed in a spacious bungalow with beautiful ocean views. We loved having the fireplaces (indoor and out!). In addition the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were all lovely and helpful, with a special shout out to our fabulous housekeeper Penelope, who ran to get us extra umbrellas when we experienced an unexpected downpour. Her housekeeping skills were also impeccable. We dined at Nelson’s and Catalina Kitchen and the food was really good and the wait staff very friendly! That giant pretzel at Nelson’s was incredible! Our experience at the spa was very mixed. George checked us in and was very helpful and welcoming. He then showed us to the women’s lounge. The attendant there, Michele, told us that only bottom lockers were available, despite the fact that when we looked around, it was clear there were at least a half dozen empty top lockers available and she gave the next set of guests the option of top or bottom lockers. She also told us she would give us a tour of the facilities, but then never came back to do so. We found our own way around, and given the prices, expected more of the facilities, which are surprisingly small and limited with the exception of the outdoor seating. That being said, the views are incredible! My technicians — Elizabeth and Wendy — were wonderful, skilled and friendly. (Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to my facial (which was for sensitive skin) and woke up the next day with a red, itchy and puffy face. I expect it was one of the ingredients in the products used.) Overall, we had a really nice time and the resort is beautiful. I would definitely stay there again but might skip the spa.

Mariah was absolutely outstanding at the Terranea Terrace Bar. After a full day of celebrating my wife’s birthday at the hotel, we arrived at the Terrace late in the evening. Even though it was close to last call, Mariah went above and beyond to take care of us. When my wife requested a hot chocolate — even though it wasn’t on the menu — Mariah somehow made it happen with her signature magic touch. We are truly grateful to Mariah and the entire Terranea team for making our stay so memorable. Thank you!
