With its secluded location and bougainvillea-draped buildings, the intimate guest rooms are picture-perfect haciendas featuring a generous amount of square footage, hand painted tiles, mission-style fireplaces, exposed wooden beams, pitched ceilings and earthy stucco walls that are cool to the touch. The bathrooms, which are equally spacious and spa-like, are rich with tandem tubs and separate showers. French doors transition the indoors to a private outside garden where you are likely to find a sunken whirlpool or conversation pits for intimate entertaining.

Refined, comfortable luxury in Rancho Santa Fe.
I can always rely on a perfectly lovely stay at Rancho Valencia. The staff is highly professional - friendly but not intrusive. The grounds are beautifully manicured. The vibe is peaceful. The food is excellent.

Poor Execution and Service
I had called ahead of time to notify the hotel we were celebrating my wife’s birthday. The day before check-in,concierge mentioned they would be able to accomodate a 2pm check-in - when we arrived on my wife’s birthday we did not get the room till 4:15pm. Furthermore, I had ordered a cake a week ahead of time for dinner at the Pony and apparently the hotel forgot about the cake. Although the staff accommodated by giving us free dessert, however a birthday is not really a celebration without a birthday cake. In addition, when we asked for our beds to be turned down, our 4 & 5 year old had to wait from 6-7:30pm 1hr 30m before room service came to setup the sofa bed. Overall this experience was poor - a 2/10.

great tennis hotel
This place is great. Wonderful tennis facility, good food and beautiful gardens. Also pet friendly! We had a great family get away.

A veritable oasis
Rancho Valencia is the epitome of a well designed and thoughtful resort replete with beautiful guest rooms (casitas), common amenities like a culinary garden, chicken coop, and waterfall you can visit, tennis on site, an excellent spa (offering delicious bone broth complimentary) with daily access to the wet areas, and on site dining options. The property is beautiful and the staff is excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay and will return.

Perfect
An outstanding property. Service and food was terrific. The spa and pool area were great. Our room is one of the best we ever have stayed in.

Great resort! The only negative thing I can say is that our time there was too short! We were first time Luxury Link users - the service, meals, accommodations all exceeded our expectations. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort, what a wonderful treat. We have recommended Rancho Valencia as well as Luxury Link as a result of this trip.
