Sat on a limestone throne at the peaceful pinnacle of Ravello, Belmond Hotel Caruso gazes out over the Tyrrhenian Sea. The hotel was originally built in the 11th century by a wealthy family, shipwrecked on their journey to Constantinople. It was once called Palazzo d’Afflitto—the Palace of the Afflicted. Inside, our 50 rooms have been lovingly restored to their ancient Neapolitan glory. Expect hand-crafted terracotta floors and Naples-yellow walls adorned with neo-classical antiques. Fresh flowers and stunning coastline vistas complete the experience.

This was our third visit, and incredibly, ten years have passed since our very first stay to the day. Yet, the magic of the Caruso—perched high above the Amalfi Coast—has only deepened with time. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the same warmth, elegance, and breathtaking beauty that made us fall in love with the Caruso a decade ago. The staff remembered us by name and made every detail feel effortless and personalized. The hospitality is truly world-class—genuine, thoughtful, and delivered with a touch of Italian charm that never feels rehearsed. Special thanks to Tommaso and Carmine, who always make us feel like we are home and part of the Caruso Famiglia. The rooms remain as timeless and luxurious as ever, with sweeping views that still left us speechless each morning. The infinity pool--Still one of the most iconic in the world—floating above Ravello like a secret between the sky and sea. Thank you Marco and Marco Jr- for all your insights and history. Dining and sipping aperitivo on the terrace, dining on Chef Armando's exquisite meals at The Belvedere, making pizza with Mariano, and wandering through the fragrant gardens brought back so many cherished memories while creating new ones we’ll treasure for another ten years. Belmond Caruso isn’t just a hotel—it’s a living memory for us. It’s where elegance meets emotion, and where every visit feels like the best one yet. We’re already dreaming of our next return and hope to bring our nieces and nephews so they can meet our "Caruso Family" and experience the elegance and service of a bygone era that Caruso lives & breaths. Truly the people that make it-Thank you Iolanda Mansi and Congratulations on your 20th year! Grazie mille, Belmond Caruso. You’ve stolen our hearts once again. - Tricia & Marc

Giovanni and his team provided exceptional service, as did Iolanda. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return. This is among the most beautiful locations we have ever visited; the staff, food, and overall experience were fantastic. We highly recommend this establishment.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in! I proposed to my fiance at the Caruso, we were given a complimentary upgrade on arrival with an amazing terrace and sea view for me to propose on. The hotel manager met us on arrival and welcomed us to the hotel. Andrea & Francesca were amazing during our entire stay. We hope we can return one day!

Other worldly. Best service, atmosphere, food, location. I have visited many times and it never disappoints...only gets better. GM, Yolanda is beyond helpful ..Roberta at front also amazing. Food and beverage service beyond.. Carmino at bar makes the best most creative cocktails imaginable. Pool service (thanks to Marco) the best!! Hard to find words that can live up to what the experience is like at the Caruso.

We just spent 4 nights at the Belmont hotel Caruso, my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, the hotel is absolutely one of the best stays , we love hotels, and make a point to stay in the best hotels, the world has to offer, and this hotel stands out. The location, in the quiet town of Ravelo is ideal, the town is beautiful. The staff goes above and beyond to make your experience extraordinary, we had nightly treats that came with beautiful poems about the Amalfy Coast, when we commented, how delicious was their coffee, we had a small bag of their roasted beans, with all the information, at our door the same day, we had a beautiful small container with lemonchelo as a departing gift, we had an expensive bottle of champagne for our celebration, when we first arrived to the room with fruit and delicious brownies. They offer with their rooms wonderful activities, they have their own boat, so they take you around the Amalfi Coast with a guide and all the transportation arranged, they offer painting and yoga classes, etc, they have activities every day. Our room was an upgrade for our wedding anniversary, it was absolutely beautiful, with the most magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea, very large and confortable, the bed, the sheets and the pillows were just amazing , we had the best sleep, we did not want to leave our room and we love been out and about. Their dinning venues, their gardens, pool and surroundings, all facing the magnificent Mediterranean Sea, up high, is something out of this world. The food was delicious, I love their breakfasts, cold items as a buffet and hot items a la cart, the quality of the food combined with the service made it one of the best breakfasts in a hotel in the world in my opinion. When we were checking out, there was a woman, who was leaving too, and told me, “we will never be the same”, I totally agree with her. So we will be back, yes it is expensive, but it is worth every penny.
