Palazzo Avino is a stunning five-star deluxe hotel on Italy's famed Amalfi coast. Built in what was once a 12th century private villa for an Italian noble family and opened as a hotel in 1997, Palazzo Avino has been rated as one of the world’s finest hotels and boasts one-star Michelin dining. Tucked away in the medieval hilltop village of Ravello and perched high on the cliffs, 350 m (1,000 ft) above the sparkling Mediterranean, Palazzo Avino overlooks some of the coast's most picturesque fishing villages.

30 minutes waiting at the bar without being acknowledged. Pretty ridiculous considering they’re charging 28 euro a drink. Pretty rude staff. A little condescending. The decor looks like something g out of the 60’s. Skip this place and go to the piazza.

Incredible stay - what a place! Views incredible, food superb & staff very very helpful and a pleasure to chat with. Food was outstanding and the pool vibe was perfect! Concierge' Antonio, Claudia and the rest of the team were outstanding and lovely people with great recommendations. Thank you Carmelina for not only being so lovely to us at the pool but also for the Italiano tips! Couldn't have asked for a better experience here. Will definitely be back! Grazie & Ciao, Jayme & Chris

The hotel is beautiful, amazing views and an incredible staff!! If you want to relax and enjoy your time in Ravello, this is the place to stay! My wife and I took our 15yr old daughter and we all had the best time, it was our favorite place we stayed. There was plenty for all of us to do and a great place to relax! We will be back!!

This has to be one of the prettiest hotels I have ever stayed at, the attention to detail everywhere is world class. I stayed in the Aquamarine Deluxe Sea view room which I would highly recommend - it's a slightly more modern feel than the other rooms with an art deco vibe and the view was breath taking. The beds are proper super kings - not twin beds pushed together which I hate! The food is excellent, definitely worth trying both restaurants if you have time. I can't fault any of it - it's timeless elegance and service at it's best.

A grande dame high in Ravello. The location is great (get a driver) as are the views. It is adjacent to the Belmond Caruso. Ravello is much quieter than Amalfi or Positano and this is a very relaxing stay. They also have a great beach club on the shore with a restaurant and several levels of loungers (one level by a pool).. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to and from the club (15-20 minutes depending on traffic). The staff are all very welcoming and helpful. The restaurants are excellent.
