Portofino Hotel & Marina

I did an impromptu day cation with my mom last Saturday at the Portofino Hotel so she could just get away from always working so hard at her school in Crenshaw. I booked the room at 3:30pm and we arrived at 4:30pm just in time to watch the sunset! 🌅 The room was on the 1st floor and it was amazing! The staff was top notch, ready to help us with anything. Zoha checked me in at the front desk, and made sure we were taken care of. She asked me what was the special occasion and I told her I was celebrating my mom, since she works so hard at a school and never takes a break. She offered to send something over to the room and it was magical for my mom. My mom was on top of the world when she opened the door and the guy came to drop it off to her. 😍 He was so sweet. I missed his name but he was fantastic. The room was beautiful and tranquil. We caught the beautiful sunrise early am, and then we ordered room service breakfast and chatted and spend time before it was time to get ready to head out to start the school week. I am SO very grateful for the opportunity to stay at the Portofino for the night. I’m hoping to do another trip with my mom there and just enjoy for the weekend. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect hotel for our room block than Portofino Hotel & Marina. From the very beginning, Rain and his team were incredible to work with, partnering with us for nearly a year to coordinate every detail, from our room block logistics to the bridal getting-ready suite and our after-party at Baleen, the hotel's restaurant and lounge. Most of our guests were traveling cross-country, many of whom had never been to California before, and they were absolutely blown away by the hotel. Between the beautiful waterfront grounds, immaculate rooms, thoughtful amenities, and genuinely friendly staff (Shaw at Valet and Chelsea at Front Desk, to name a few), it was the perfect home base for our wedding weekend. Check-in was seamless, rooms were ready in a timely manner, and the entire process was incredibly smooth, especially impressive given the number of guests arriving around the same time. There were truly no major issues whatsoever, which allowed our guests (and us) to relax and fully enjoy the weekend. The Portofino Hotel & Marina exceeded every expectation, and we are so grateful to Rain and his team for their professionalism, organization, and care throughout the entire process. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone hosting a wedding or special event in the area!

Great views and great customer service. Everyone I encountered was very nice. Zoha A made sure my family and i were well taken care of. Resturant was outstanding and enjoyed having coffee in the living room.

What an amazing trip and even better staff and service. I travel a ton for work and pleasure and Scarlet, Drew, Craig and the entire housekeeping staff went above and beyond in all aspects of our trip. Not to mention the view and location as you can walk everywhere or use the bikes they provide. Can’t wait to go back next month.

Awesome place with awesome views and I love the sea lions just out the window. Zoha greater me and she was fabulous!! Highly recommend this place.
