Perched on a lush private peninsula on King Harbor in Redondo Beach, California, The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club is an idyllic combination of sun and surf â€" one of the few truly oceanfront hotels in the Los Angeles area with waterfront views of the Pacific Ocean and picturesque King Harbor. Ocean breezes wash through the casually elegant decor of each guest room, creating a crisp and clean character, with hues of blue, yellow and white, fine linens, and sleek bathrooms adding just the right touch of luxury. Enjoy the view from your private balcony or move closer with a deck chair by the oceanfront pool and whirlpool. Full service fitness and business centers keep you in shape and in touch, while the whimsical setting of BALEEN Restaurant adds the final feather in Portofinoâ€(TM)s cap.

The location is amazing , adjacent to the Marina and harbour where the California sea lions bask on a jetty around April time . The marina has a number of nice sea food restaurants and the dockside has a few good bars and fresh sea food to purchase

We loved our stay at the Portofino Hotel & Marina! We found the location to be excellent for exploring the nearby beaches, coffee shops and restaurants. There’s even a Whole Foods within walking distance. We found the room to be spacious and the beds extremely comfortable! We especially appreciated our check in experience! We arrived 5 hrs prior to check in and just wanted to leave our bags while we went to explore. Not only were we given early check in, we were upgraded to an ocean view room and given excellent views recommendations by the host who was born and raised in the area! We also appreciated the complimentary bike rentals and used them every day of our stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and were sad to leave!

The Portofino Hotel is one of the hidden gems of LA. Although an older hotel, I have never found another that can beat its views and overall vibe. Friendly staff, great bar & restaurant, and just close to smaller, more local area's of the beach cities.

Grand hotel. Driving from the main road to hotel was challenging after dark. Nice upgrades but hall & room carpets had a slight old wet smell. Loved the sea lion symphony! Beautiful grounds. Excellent front desk staff, especially Gregory!

I stayed for one night. The room is luxe and I enjoyed reading by the fire in the lobby in the evening. I felt safe and there were a few restaurants within walking distance. Depending on your goals for your stay, this is tucked away in a little alcove so you'll have to walk or drive to places. Thanks to Gregory for the warm welcome!
