Perched on a lush private peninsula on King Harbor in Redondo Beach, California, The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club is an idyllic combination of sun and surf â€" one of the few truly oceanfront hotels in the Los Angeles area with waterfront views of the Pacific Ocean and picturesque King Harbor. Ocean breezes wash through the casually elegant decor of each guest room, creating a crisp and clean character, with hues of blue, yellow and white, fine linens, and sleek bathrooms adding just the right touch of luxury. Enjoy the view from your private balcony or move closer with a deck chair by the oceanfront pool and whirlpool. Full service fitness and business centers keep you in shape and in touch, while the whimsical setting of BALEEN Restaurant adds the final feather in Portofinoâ€(TM)s cap.

The pillows were out of this world. Make sure you rent a paddleboard or kayak and go in the little bay area. It’s a perfect way to start your day. Also I highly suggest the espresso martinis at Baleen!

Beds were far too soft, no full length mirror in room, noise coming through ceiling from room above, harbour view looks across car park with factory backdrop. Free evening / welcome glass of wine tasted like it was very cheap or the bottle had been open for too long. Daily parking charge far too excessive for guests already paying to stay at your establishment. On checkout heard other guest complaining that Portofino is overpriced and there were nicer hotels near by.

A recently stayed at Portofino Hotel and was thoroughly impressed. The location is excellent—right by the waterfront with beautiful views, easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with very comfortable beds. Service was outstanding. Staff were welcoming, attentive, and quick to address any requests. The concierge helped us plan local tours and gave great recommendations. Amenities were top-notch, including a lovely pool area, well-equipped fitness center, and a stylish bar and restaurant serving delicious meals with fresh local ingredients. Breakfast was generous with lots of options. Overall, Portofino Hotel offers a great blend of luxury and comfort with a genuinely friendly vibe. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, whether for business or leisure. Use Hotel. We truly hope enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is great if you travel alone or with your friends and need a place for 2 nights. The room was clean and smelled good. My problem was not even that we got a different room size from i reserved. The biggest issue is no microwave policy. I travelled with 2 small kids who can't finish even kids' size meal. Also the restaurant they have provides a great selection of food for adults, not kids. We stayed there for 4 days so we had to store food for kids to eat at random times and could never warm it up. The hotel staff was very understanding but still never provided microwave. Surprise: while there is "no microwave policy" for guests, the staff had microwave but of course i could not use it. I would not go there if you have small kids and need to stay for several days.

This is a historic and iconic hotel right on the marina. It is quaint and well preserved. The rooms have been updated and are very well up-kept. The fitness center is quite small, but does the trick. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall pleasant and enjoyable stay.
