On his mythical voyage through the Aegean Sea, Ulysses could never have foreseen the magnificent possibilities of a luxury hotel resting gently below the acropolis of Lindos, overlooking the white sand beaches and deep blue waters of the island of Rhodes. This awe-inspiring creation, however, is precisely what has been accomplished with Melenos Lindos. With twelve rooms each offering traditional hand-carved wooden sleep platforms, beautiful hand-painted ceilings, and a fantastic blend of Mediterranean architecture, you are immediately immersed in the culture of classical Greece while still having access to all the modern and technological accommodations desired. Each room also features a private terrace overlooking the azure waters of Lindos, which beckon even the most active of vacationers to sit for a minute and admire the surrounding natural beauty.

We stayed at the Melonos Hotel for our honeymoon, we wanted somewhere special and unique and that’s exactly what we got staying here! The rooms are so beautifully decorated with little unique pieces of decor in each room which made it so special. The owner has his own shop in the town which we visited and he spoke of each piece in our room with such passion it made the stay feel even more special and unique. There are multiple beaches nearby which are no more than a 5 min walk to the nearest one. The hotel gave some brilliant recommendations on places to eat and all of them were fabulous in food and atmosphere. The old town is not far at all and can be reached by foot offering some beautiful scoops and bars, with the beach restaurants offering a more relaxed vibe. Also the Acropolis was a 4 min walk from the hotel which is a definite must see for those able to navigate a rocky path and hills! The staff at Melenos were always available and ever so kind, and the breakfast was really good too, you definitely wouldn’t go hungry and it’s a perfect picturesque way to start your day. We would definitely stay here again!

My partner and I stayed at Melenos on our 5 day stay in Rhodes. We decided to stay in Lindos because we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of the island. We arrived in Lindos to discover (in the peak school holiday period) that Lindos was as bustling and busy as anywhere, even when we landed at 11pm. The hotel arranged for a private van to pick us up from the airport (flat fee of 75 EU) with a lovely driver. He dropped us off in the main square, which is the furthest into Lindos that cars can go. From there, the hotel provided a golf cart to bring us from the main square to the hotel. This is normally a 5-7 minute walk, but with bags and on stone pathways and up and down hills, a golf cart is necessary! We arrived and a very kind man, who stayed past the time I imagine he is usually there until, greeted us, took our bags, and showed us into our room. His name escapes me but we saw him every day -- which is a testament to the boutique-ness and communal feel of the hotel. The room was beautiful and they even provided snacks and a bottle of wine to welcome us in. Georgia (who I'll get to in a second) made sure there was a gluten free sandwich for me as I had previously told her that I have a gluten allergy. The shower is large, the beds are comfortable, and the shutters make the room pitch black at night. And there is an air conditioning unit in the room! Perfect. Georgia, the hotel manager, and I texted a bit before our arrival. They offer that service via WhatsApp and in the excitement and anticipation leading up to our trip, I was able to text her with questions, sort a few reservations, and tell her any dietary needs - since the hotel provides a delicious made to order breakfast every morning. Every morning my partner got a basket of bread and croissants and I got the same basket with all gluten free bread. To boot it comes with a fresh spread of jams and honey, and butter. The woman who serves breakfast every morning is delightful and remembered that we don't drink orange juice, that my partner likes hot coffee with milk, and that I am gluten free - so she stopped bringing us orange juice, automatically brought him coffee, and never put bread with my eggs. High class service!!! Georgia greeted us on our first morning and through the entire trip was as helpful and gracious, kind, and generous, as you would want anyone working in hospitality and at any hotel to treat you. She went above and beyond by every means necessary to make sure we had the perfect trip. She helped us a rent a car on the day, got us the best table at Stegna Kozas (delicious seafront restaurant a 30 min drive away), and helped us book the best sun loungers on the beach below! If you want something, she'll pick up the phone and call within a moment's notice. Neither my partner nor I had ever been to Rhodes, let alone Greece, and with her help, wisdom, advice, and amazing connections to everyone on the island who must respect her as much as they strive to please her, we ended up having a fantastic stay. The hotel is small with 12 rooms (I believe) and in the crowded Lindos, it is a true escape from the touristy madness. It is incredibly crafted - the owner Michaelis runs a shop in town where he sells beautiful handmade homeware and linens. He told us it took 2.5 years to place each stone in the hotel. Even the floors are beautiful. It is a magical place to stay, overlooking the beautiful Lindos beach from high above, and just beneath the Acropolis. There are local cats (fed and treated, though nosy), and the rest of the hotel staff is just as wonderful and kind as Georgia. If you're going to Rhodes and want to stay in a beautiful hotel with first class amenities and care, but not one of those all-inclusive resorts, this is definitely the place for you.

We’ve been coming to Lindos many times over the last 20 years and have always fancied staying at this hotel so decided to give it a go and we weren’t disappointed. The location of the hotel is perfect, located in a very quiet area of Lindos but only a short walk into the village and to the beach. The hotel is very tastefully decorated in a traditional Greek style. Breakfast was delicious with a very good choice. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Hope to return.

We have just returned home after spending 10 wonderful days at the Melenos Art Boutique hotel. Firstly, the location. This was our second stay in Lindos and after our first visit, we wanted to be only a short walk from the beach and the village - the hotels location was absolutely perfect. It was in a peaceful area with everything we wanted only a short walk away - perfect for the beach, village, local restaurants and acropolis. The hotel is beautiful, our room was wonderfully situated with its own patio overlooking the bay and had an individual authentic feel. We have never before enjoyed breakfast in such a beautiful setting with views of the sea and acropolis from the courtyard - breathtaking. Breakfast was incredible and always cooked and presented with such care. Finally but by no means least - the fantastic staff, all of whom made us feel warmly welcomed during our stay. Everyone was wonderful but we have to say a special “thank you” to Christina and we hope to see her, Georgia, Mary and the rest of the team again when we return. Everything was absolutely perfect - thank you for making our holiday so special x
