Wish We Could Live There!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Although Rio offers a lifetime of exploration and activities, we could have happily spent our entire week in and around the hotel. Its superb location with easy access to Copacabana, Arpoador and Ipanema beaches is enhanced by its own beach club right across the street. I rented a bike from the hotel for an easy cycle around Lagoa Freitas. Theres also paddleboatd, outrigger canoe and beach volley on the weekends. And wonderful musicians by the pool every evening and there are two pools!). Across the street daily life in Rio brings you in contact with fishermen, marching soldiers, capoeira, painters, surfing... Taxis too and from the hotel are easy. While all that is unequalled by any other hotel in Rio, our stay on the gold floor made it an even more exceptional service. The lounge is almost a museum of mid-century modern Brazilian design (I found many of the pieces of furniture in a book on the subject). Very comfortable with a treetop view. An abundance of friendly staff caters to every need (Norrh American visitors should be aware that Brazilians dont like to disappoint by saying the dont know the answer, so sometimes you msy need to double-check). We miss them. And we miss the delicious breakfasts, the creative evening appetizers and the handcrafted cocktails, especially the array of delicious caipirinha. We have no hesitation to recommend staying here.

Great service for a family of 4

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The location of this hotel was great, as it’s walking distance from Copacabana and Impanema. Definitely more of a “big” hotel feel vs boutique but still welcoming. We had a family suite which suited our needs but nothing specific to call out about the room. What stood out were the staff at the front door, they were super helpful, didn’t matter if it was coming back in after a run and offering water or helping us unload or pack up to go. Very very helpful
