We have just spent a month at the Fairmont Hotel and we have to say what a truly wonderful holiday we’ve had. We stayed in a Gold Room to experience the Gold Lounge benefits and it is highly recommended. All the staff are absolutely first class - from breakfast through to the evening Happy Hour from 6pm to 8pm. Special mention to Duarte, Thiago, Ciago and Davi who looked after us so well all the time and always ensured we were well fed and watered!! We also ate breakfast in the main restaurant and Dhom became a special friend to us - again his hospitality was first class and he even got us a personalised gift to take home - he is such an asset to the Fairmont and we will forever remember him. Our room ((1371) was always cleaned to the highest standards and our lady (Perliane) also needs a special mention for always being so happy in her job. Finally all the Gold staff managers need to be congratulated on how they run the facility - Henrique and Wendy who were first class in assisting us when we needed it and always ensured we were looked after to the highest standards. Unfortunately, we cannot mention everyone but we have to say that all members of staff endeavour to make sure that your stay is memorable and never to be forgotten Thank you Fairmont - we will be back

Stayed at the Fairmont Rio Copacabana for 5 days and it was fantastic from start to end. They help with airport transportation for an additional cost, which made my friends and I feel safer. Bruno and Maurice at the concierge entrance made the whole trip. They greeted us every single day, remembered us, and gave us recommendations tailored to what our group actually liked to do. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare and it made us feel so welcome the entire stay. 10/10 stay and worth the price!

The hotel is in a fantastic location, the breakfast is excellent, and the vast majority of the employees were friendly, professional, and attentive. I would especially like to recognize Maria da Saúde and Rosângela from Housekeeping. They took exceptional care of our room throughout our stay, and their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly made a difference. They deserve to be recognized for the outstanding work they do. I would also like to recognize Renata at the Front Desk. She was extremely professional, courteous, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our experience with Veronica, who appeared to be the Front Desk supervisor, was the opposite. From the moment we arrived, she barely acknowledged us, avoided even basic eye contact, and came across as arrogant and dismissive. Her attitude was completely inconsistent with the level of hospitality expected from a luxury hotel. When we arrived, we were told that breakfast was included in our reservation. Three days later, we were informed that this had been a mistake. As a result, we were embarrassed twice at the entrance to the restaurant over an error that was entirely the hotel’s responsibility. To their credit, the hotel finally acknowledged the mistake and corrected it on our last day, confirming that breakfast was indeed included. However, the unnecessary embarrassment should never have happened. We stayed for nine nights, and because our flight didn’t depart until 10:30 PM, we asked to pay for a half-day late check-out. We were told it could not be confirmed due to availability. To avoid the uncertainty, we paid almost US$600 for an additional night just to keep a room until 6:30 PM. Even after paying for a full extra night, we were informed that we would have to change rooms because our current room was needed for another guest. After nine nights at the hotel and paying for an entire extra day, management still made no effort to let us remain in the same room for just a few more hours. That lack of consideration was extremely disappointing. I would also like to mention that Room 1234 is in need of renovation, especially the bathroom. Although Housekeeping kept it spotless every day, the visible wear, deteriorated grout, gaps between the tiles, and aging finishes are simply not what anyone would expect from a luxury hotel. Luxury hotels are defined not only by beautiful facilities but by exceptional hospitality. While the staff consistently delivered excellent service, the management’s lack of flexibility, communication, and guest care prevented this from being the luxury experience the Fairmont brand promises.
