Excellent lacation and service. The hotel rooms are clean and the staff is professional and super friendly, particularly Don Alfredo and our server Marcio (Igor). You can enjoy an amazing view of Sugarloaf while enjoying delicious food!

Excellent hotel. Fantastic location, views and our ocean view , balcony room was wonderful! Amenities, restaurant, spa and gym were all excellent and staff fantastic. We traveled from Scotland and loved our stay. Special mention to Lucca..extremely helpful and professional.

Murnilo he is such a warm positive soul and gave us the nicest treatment of lovely drinks and great service.

The location of the Fairmont Copacabana is genuinely breathtaking, and the rooms are clean, well maintained and comfortable. The food was also decent. Unfortunately, the overall service fell considerably short of what I would expect from an expensive five-star hotel. There were multiple incidents during my stay that made the lack of service particularly noticeable. On one occasion, I went to the hotel’s beach club and stood waiting directly in front of two members of staff for more than two minutes while they continued sitting, chatting and laughing with each other, seemingly oblivious to me. When one eventually acknowledged me, I was rather aggressively told that the beach club service was only for hotel guests. When I explained that I was in fact staying at the hotel, this was challenged again. Only after providing my name and room number was I finally shown to a chair. I subsequently mentioned the incident to the concierge, but their response was remarkably uninterested. There was no real acknowledgement or attempt to address what had happened. There were also repeated issues with food orders, with items being forgotten and having to be requested multiple times. Having to repeatedly chase basic elements of an order is frustrating at any hotel, but particularly so when paying five-star prices. The physical hotel and location are beautiful, but unfortunately the service does not match the setting or the price point. A five-star hotel should not leave guests feeling as though basic attention and courtesy are an unreasonable request. There is clearly a lot to like about the Fairmont Copacabana, but the service needs significant improvement if the hotel is to deliver the level of experience its five-star positioning promises.

From the moment we arrived, the service, attention to detail, and hospitality made our time in Rio even more memorable. Our room was extremely clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained throughout our stay. The housekeeping team did an excellent job every day, and the nightly turndown service was a wonderful touch. Returning each evening to a refreshed and prepared room really reinforced the level of service you expect from a Fairmont property. We especially want to recognize Murilo and Marcio, who took excellent care of us in the restaurant. Both were warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Their service stood out and added a personal touch to our dining experiences. The concierge team was also exceptional. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and extremely helpful with recommendations and arrangements during our visit. Having a concierge staff we could rely on made exploring and enjoying Rio much easier. Beyond the beautiful property and incredible Copacabana location, what really distinguishes this hotel is its people and level of service. From housekeeping and turndown service to the restaurant and concierge team, we consistently felt well taken care of. The Fairmont was a wonderful home base for our first experience in Rio, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a luxury hotel in Rio with excellent service, a beautiful setting, and a staff that truly understands hospitality.
