Meh. Disappointed. We’ve stayed at many other Fairmont hotels and the Rio location doesn’t compare well. Prices: 5-star Room cleanliness: 3-star Service: 3-star The furniture needs a cleaning (see sofa pic). The bidet faucet is broken. Our ocean view room includes a trumpet playing reveille loudly just across the street at 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 AM. I asked about changing rooms and was told there were no suites available. Room service was asked yesterday to clean the bathroom floor (pickup broken glass) and didn’t bother. Today, no water provided, so I purchased some in the coffee shop. Our check-in and interactions with the concierge were similarly disappointing. The wi-fi works only intermittently. One nice surprise was the gym. Large space and ample machines for a workout.

Clean, staff attentive and friendly, quiet room on 9th floor, good views. Murilo, our waiter, was especially attentive, supplying what we needed before we asked. Two day stay and we would stay again.
