Beautiful

Nice location, great breakfeast. But the building and the rooms are in need of a renovation. The beds are too small.

Wonderful staff in a lovely hotel

We spent a wonderful week at this hotel. The staff are absolutely fantastic and so friendly . The rooftop bar/ bistro is a great place to relax with amazing views. We are lucky enough to be Hilton diamond members and were given a handmade chocolate model of the Sugarloaf cable car. It tasted delicious. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay next year when we come back to visit our son who is a cardiologist at Samaritano Botafogo Hospital.

Great location but hotel has seen better days

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This Hilton is past its best and could do with modernisation and refurbishment. It is dated and pretty battered around the edges. The lifts were often malfunctioning during our visit. However, the location is excellent right on Copacabana beach and a major road leading to the city centre although that also results in traffic congestion right outside and noise throughout the day and night. We paid for a room on a high floor with a view of Copacabana beach but were very disappointed. We were only on the 12th floor (out of 37) and had a view of the building across the road. The room we were initially given was small and we were dismayed at the prospect of staying there for 2 weeks. It had a horrible smell, was not very clean, and the furniture and floor had seen better days. There were also no lamps, no complimentary water, no shower products, only a couple of towels, and only one chair. Quite frankly, it did not look as though it had been fully cleaned and prepared for occupation. We complained and were given a better room. For this I cannot complement highly enough the front desk staff, particularly Rafael, who went above and beyond to ensure that we were moved as soon as possible, happy with the alternative, and had everything we needed. The rooftop area is a great feature of this hotel with stunning views, although the small pool can get very crowded and there are only a few sunbeds. The second pool on the fourth floor was uninspiring, being right by the street traffic, and also had very few beds. The beach service provided chairs and umbrellas but numbers were limited and they regularly ran out of towels. The Hilton zone on the beach is also located quite far back from the water so there is not much view of the ocean. There is plenty of security outside the hotel at the door and in the lobby and we never felt unsafe. We did not eat in any of the hotel’s restaurants, only had drinks at the hotel bar (a little expensive and watered down). There are plenty of excellent eating places nearby offering variety and good value.

A short comfortable stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at the Hilton only for one night at the end of our month long trip of Latin america. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was a reasonable size, the bed was big, very clean sheets and comfortable. The bathroom included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shoe polish and shower cap. There was also a hair dryer and gowns. There is a well stocked mini bar but we didn’t use this. It is right on Copacabana beach, I believe they offer chairs and parasols for on the beach. It is a cheap uber ride from the airport (approx £12-15) Breakfast was included and really good! Very well stocked, good quality however, very busy! Would recommend staying at this hotel We enjoyed our stay
