Best location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed at the Hilton Rio de Janeiro and found the location to be one of its biggest strengths. The hotel is situated right next to the beach, offering beautiful ocean views, and is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and attractions. What we liked: - Excellent beachfront location. - Beautiful views of the ocean. - Convenient walking distance to the city center and nearby attractions. What could be improved: - The rooms are quite small for a Hilton property. - The rooms and interiors feel dated and are in need of renovation and modernization. Overall, the location and views make this a pleasant place to stay, but the guest rooms would benefit from a complete refurbishment to match the standards expected of a Hilton hotel.

Lovely hotel

My daughter stayed here for 9 nights. I was a bit wary coming in because of some of the reviews but I definitely should not have worried. We arrived early in the morning. Chouan checked us in and he was absolutely lovely. He really set the tone for our entire stay. Reception area is open and very welcoming with some sitting areas as well as a lobby bar. They also have some filtered water for anyone to drink set up in the lobby which was very handy. We were in the 37th floor with views across Leme beach and we could also see the top of Sugarloaf mountain which was so amazing. The room was very comfortable. There is a mini bar and snack but we didn’t use them. I would have preferred an empty fridge to put my own drinks but it was fine. Housekeeping were excellent. Our room was always cleaned early, not once did we ever have to chase up housekeeping or ask for supplies. The breakfast is excellent! So many wonderful choices and there was bee any waiting for tables or anything. Food was always available and restocked quick even when we got to breakfast late. There are pools on 4th floor and 39th floor. Both sections have amazing views of the ocean and Copacabana. The 39th floor wins though as you can see the Statue of Christ the Redeemer on a clear day. I really enjoyed my time at this hotel and would stay there again. It is also extremely well located. We didn’t struggle getting around at all. Lovely hotel

Amazing experience!

The stay was excellent. As a gold member, breakfast was included daily. The hotel is directly from Copacabana Beach. The boardwalk is also great because you can walk to Ipamema beach as well. Please uber or walk or bike to Ipamema beach w/the locals. Also, the Hilton is near a mall & tons of food places. I’d def. stay again. Thx Hilton….

Wonderfully situated hotel

The location of this hotel is wonderful, just across the road from the glorious beach and close to many shops, bars and restaurants. We had a beach view room so we had good views of all the action on the beach, with only minimal noise disturbance. The room was clean and comfortable, but the decor, especially the bathroom, was a bit tired. The breakfast was a real highlight, especially the açai ice cream station, the excellent freshly made eggs and omelettes, and the speciality Brazilian cheese bread balls. We only used the rooftop pool, although there was another on the 4th floor. The view from the rooftop was amazing, but there were very few sunbeds, due to lack of space. There were several issues with things not working: the tap in the ladies’ toilet at the rooftop bar (the only one and it doubled as a changing room); the lobby escalators were out most of our stay; and, most annoyingly, all 3 of the large jacuzzis in the spa were broken. We also had language difficulties with some of the staff, but I must commend the breakfast staff in particular for their exemplary service. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Hilton Copacabana.

Nice views and decent location...but wouldnt recommend otherwise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Bottom Line Up Front: I wouldn’t stay here again. Location: The hotel’s best feature is its location. It sits directly across from Copacabana Beach and, as the tallest building in the area, offers fantastic views. There are also plenty of nearby shops within walking distance, including high-end stores, grocery options, and gift shops. Check-In: Check-in was generally smooth, but the hotel caters to many tour groups, which creates constant congestion. The lobby feels dated and is almost always crowded and hectic. Rooms: The rooms are small and noticeably outdated. We requested an upgrade due to the size, but even beyond that, the furniture and bathrooms felt worn and in need of renovation. With the high turnover of large groups, the wear and tear is very apparent. Service: Service was extremely disappointing. We had to call multiple times for basic items like toilet paper and towels, and ultimately had to go down to reception to get them ourselves. It seems the hotel is understaffed for the volume of guests, and they simply can’t keep up. Running out of toilet paper in a hotel—and not having it promptly replaced—was unacceptable.
