A perfect stay in Copacabana

We had an excellent stay at the Windsor Miramar. The location is unbeatable, right across from the beach, and the hotel offers great facilities, all very clean and well maintained. The service was outstanding, especially from Nicolás and the front desk team, who were always attentive and made sure everything was perfect. They also provided great recommendations for tours and helped us book reservations at some of the best restaurants in Rio. A hotel we would definitely recommend — we look forward to coming back!

The hotel is in a great location by Copacabana beach The staff we met on the reception were excellent The room was lovely and comfortable Housekeeping were excellent Unfortunately when we were in Rio de janiero the weather was cloudy with rain so we didn’t experience the city with blue skies We still had a wonderful time at the hotel We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and ate at the hotel restaurant every night The food was amazing but the service was exceptional Special mention goes to Rodrigo Correa who enhanced our meal with his hospitality A real credit to the hotel All the staff were wonderful Credit also to Luana and Ana Luiza for making us so welcome Breakfast at the hotel was excellent also Would highly recommend this hotel

Poor, poor, poor experience on every front!

This is not a 5* hotel This hotel has a tiny reception area which was absolute mayhem due to check-in and out in this small area that serves as reception, bar and lounge area. Our room was awful. No sound proofing, sound from the lift constant, tiny, dark, dirty carpet, no shower gel!! Sliding door to tiny bathroom didn’t have a lock. Bed mattress uncomfortable. We are seasoned travellers who don’t expect perfection however we also know the difference between quality and our experience was so bad we checked out after 1 night . On checking out early at reception we were asked about our stay. Explained noise and facilities unacceptable. No reaction or apology and still charged for one drink on our bill!! Thankfully we made the correct decision as the hotel our travel agent moved us to was a reversal of our experience in Mortimer

Zero flexibility, no help, bounced back to the OTA — beware prepaid bookings

I had a prepaid reservation for Miramar by Windsor (Rio) for Dec 20, 2025 – Jan 5, 2026, booked through a third-party agency (StayForLong), total $13,911. Shortly before travel I realized I could not enter Brazil because I did not have the required tourist visa, so I tried to resolve it before the stay. After the agency was unhelpful, I called the hotel directly asking for anything reasonable: a credit, a date change, even a partial penalty with the rest credited. The response was basically “no” — no credit, no date change, and I was sent back to the OTA. I understand “non-refundable” policies exist, but this was an extremely expensive reservation and the hotel offered zero flexibility and zero solution. The practical takeaway is simple: if you book this hotel prepaid/non-refundable (especially via a third party), assume you’re on your own and you can lose the full amount if anything changes. If you want peace of mind, book a fully refundable rate somewhere else or only book here if you’re 100% certain you’ll travel and can meet entry requirements.

Overall, the hotel is excellent, and our stay was truly memorable. The facilities, service, and atmosphere exceeded our expectations, making the experience as a whole extraordinary. We would like to especially highlight Caio and the young Carlo for their constant help and kindness throughout our stay. A special thank you as well to Djaci for his excellent service and warm treatment during our dinners at the hotel, and to Patrick for his outstanding service during the afternoons and evenings. We would like to give very special recognition to Jairan Andrade, who was absolutely incredible from the very first day. Jairan provided us with the best advice and recommendations, helping us enjoy an amazing trip in Rio de Janeiro. His professionalism, dedication, and genuine care truly made a difference in our experience. As a constructive point for improvement, the only area that could benefit from some attention is the front desk service. We had to complete the check-in process twice and received conflicting information regarding payment conditions. Additionally, we experienced recurring issues with our room keys over five days, which required us to return to the front desk daily for assistance. There were also some inconsistencies with bathroom amenities. Improving coordination and service at the front desk would further elevate an already excellent hotel experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so special.
