Miramar Hotel by Windsor

The location of the hotel is ideal on the copacabana beach. The front of house and concierge team were excellent and helped with tours and taxi transfers etc. The roof top pool and bar area was also very good. The views are sensational. Rooms were large and well looked after and cleaned to a very high standard. Only downside was the lobby bar wasn’t staffed much when we were there and the sauna wasn’t working a couple of days and took about 20 mins to resolve each time. A larger gym would have been great too but not really an issue. If we came back to Rio we would definitely return

Great location with good breakfast and stunning views from roooftop bar/ swimming pool. Very busy hotel - feels transitional as lots of big tour groups seem to stay a few days so reception is very busy and literally no chance of an early check in. Service is generally good. Although as so busy things not followed up eg booked Roxy dinner show and told tickets would be put under door and this never happened and had to chase up. Also had to chase up football match trip details - were told would be WhatsApp to us and again, never happened hence 4 star and not 5 star review.

Beautiful location on Copacabana beach and helpful staff but this is as good as it gets. Hotel rooms are vintage, towels are ripped or have holes, room cards fail to work at least 2 a day. Breakfast is very crowded and the Italian restaurant is bland. The fitness area is too small and not very clean. The pool is a small pond with a nonetheless beautiful view.

As a first time solo traveller in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I had a lot of uncertainty about the city as a whole. However, my first stay was at the Miramar by Windsor Hotel in Copacabana & I am glad that it was this one. Right from requesting a car service from the Galeão airport to the property to a smooth check-in, everything was made super comfortable for me. The rooms are spacious, clean and very cozy. The location is perfect, with the hotel located on Avenida Atlântica, and right across the famous Copacabana beach. The breakfast spread is spacious, with a lot of options ranging from ones for those who prefer meat and eggs to vegan options. The staff handling the breakfast service is so polite, kind and is ready to accommodate requests made by guests. The staff as a whole is very well coordinated and ensures that all guests are taken care of equally, including providing them with detailed guidance on what to do in Rio de Janeiro (a.k.a., sightseeing, arranging tours to the Pão de Açúcar, etc.). Would recommend this to anyone who decides to visit the lovely city of Rio de Janeiro!!!

We spent ages deciding on where to stay in Rio and were so pleased we chose this hotel as our stay was perfect. We had a beautiful big, comfortable room facing Copacabana beach. The room was spotlessly clean with a very large comfortable bed and everything needed was provided. The sun rise which we watched from our room was spectacular. We found all the staff in the hotel amazing and that made our stay. The people on the front desk were so helpful and so were the restaurant staff and porters. All the porters greeted us with smiles when we went in and out and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, what a selection of everything including loads of lovey fresh fruit, nuts and seeds. There was also hot food. This is an extremely well run and managed hotel and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we return to Rio which is the most beautiful city we’ve been to and despite warnings we felt safe there. One tip for getting around easily is use Uber, compared to at home they are unbelievably cheap.
