Reviews for Miramar Hotel by Windsor

Perfect position and outstanding staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed here at the start of our holiday and on the last night before we returned home. The whole experience and standards at the hotel are set by the great reception staff. Thiago was a top guy and so helpful. The view of Copacabana beach from our room and from the rooftop bar is great and as you are so close, you can stroll down Copacabana and Ipanema is easily accessible by a short Uber ride. Special mention to all the staff but we found Carlos to be a super young man. Great place to stay in Rio.

A luxury hotel with great views, food and team

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Occupying a prime spot on the world famous Cocabana beachfront, with 200 ensuite rooms, this five star hotel has all the amenities you would expect. However its stand out is it offers rooms facing onto Copacabana beach, the bay and ocean with Sugarloaf Mountain in the distance. So you can wake up at sunrise and watch the surfers or alternatively watch sunset from your room. Breakfast at Miramar is exceptional and should be given time to explore the different and very tasty dishes. And the front of house team are truly special; we were made to feel very welcome and as if we were staying in a boutique hotel. We repeated commented on how remarkable their professionalism, helpfulness, engagement and thoughtfulness was.

reasonable value

Overall very impressive place. Great breakfast, nice sized rooms, place to sit in the lobby, good service on copacbana. Location is important anywhere and we liked the fact this was nearer to Ipanema than Sugar Loaf (so you can walk on Ipanema in the morning and get back to your hotel) But bear in mind the streets behind the main esplanade are a little unpleasant and at night have an air of danger. We were fine because we took the precautions of not having phones out the way you do in America or England but you feel the danger. We bought some very overpriced tickets for a Maracana game (Flamengo). It was our fault - should have been more prepared - to be fair it was organised very well and bought on the day of the game and you have to pay for stuff like that. We did organise our own city tour for 450 rather than the 700 the hotel wanted. They are probably no different to any Copa or Ipanema hotel like that. The beach service is very helpful - they give you chairs and umbrellas and towels. Overall I'm very happy we stayed here - we got a reasonable deal and it was good value for money.

Stunning location and beautiful views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A beautiful and luxurious hotel, a small building overlooking the sea. It's clean and comfortable, but unfortunately, it needed more space to give a five-star feel. I was expecting a spacious room with a sea view, but I got a small room with a sea side view, but it was beautifully decorated. The rooftop pool offers stunning panoramic views. My best experience there was the breakfast, which was of high quality and served with excellent service. The staff goes out of their way to please.

Best Hotel Team

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We had a wonderful stay and would like to thank the entire hotel team for their warm hospitality. The service was excellent in every detail, and the breakfast was truly outstanding. Most importantly, I want to express my gratitude for the incredible support we received when we faced an unexpected situation: my uncle’s phone accidentally fell into the elevator shaft. The staff handled it with great energy, kindness, and genuine willingness to help until the problem was resolved. This level of care and dedication goes far beyond what one normally expects and really made a difference for us. Thank you again for turning a stressful moment into another reason to remember our stay so positively!
