Miramar Hotel by Windsor

A fantastic experience at the Windsor Miramar. Food was excellent, rooms were spacious and well presented. Staff were excellent. A special thanks to Patrick, Thiago, Vincente & Carlos who were always on hand when we needed them and went the extra mile. :)

I have stayed at the Miramar on several occasions. My experience has always been the same. As soon as you arrive, the bellmen will get your luggage from the taxi and welcome you back. Daniela at the reception desk is simply amazing. Her warmth and kindness makes me feel so welcome. At the reception they will always make reservations for us and will go out of their way to ensure that we are satisfied. Jairan greets us with hugs and assists us to our room. He is always professional and answers all of our questions. Breakfast is always delicious and scrupulous. Such a wide variety to choose from. The food is fresh and service top notch. The rooftop pool and bar has an awesome view of the Copacabana Beach. Everyone including housekeeping ensures that have a great experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was located just across the street to the beach. Our room had a sea view shower good & aircon .When the weather was good (not cloudy) the hotel have a gazebo & will supply an umbrella & chairs. Towels were available just outside reception. Could not fault the restaurant at breakfast every thing you could choose from. Very good service all around from reception,concierge,room checked every day by housekeeping, mini bar chargeable but water suppled every day,bar staff attentive & friendly. We enjoyed our stay & would recommend the hotel. Rio is truly amazing!!

This hotel does not feel like a 5 star hotel in any capacity. The rooms are dirty and noisy (paper thin walls, loud elevators, and sounds like a sledgehammer when someone in an adjacent room uses any of the plumbing - flushing or showering). The chair and carpet/rug was filthy when we arrived into the room. The hotel tried to make us pay to borrow 1 set of cutlery, additionally, coffee is not free in the room. Room was cleaned early evening most days - which isn't great when you come back and want to freshen up before the evening. The electrical socket by the fridge came out of the wall when we tried to use it. Unbelievably disappointed with this place - if we hadn't paid upfront for the 7 nights we would have found somewhere else.

I recently wrote a negative review here because I was having challenges in adding my friend to the booking. Initially I was going to go on a solo trip then she decided to join. In the beginning it was a bit difficult to get any sort of clear answer from the resort BUT Mr. Vincente Pereira was great in helping me to know the cost of adding her to the booking. And yes I did book on Expedia and I was communicating with the resort through that portal. Thank you for assisting with this. Looking forward to an amazing time with you in February! 😊 Super excited, good to know that follow up is important at Miramar
