Good option on Copacabana Beach

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Exceptionally professional staff throughout the hotel. Good breakfast and the entire breakfast crew was very accommodating and Fabio as terrific as breakfast manager and even opened it up a little early for us to grab something before our flight. Good location on Copacabana beach with complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. Rooftop pool is nice too. 4 stars due to periphery charges for things like an empty glass for wine, a set of cutlery for your room and things like that which should be complimentary. Laundry charges also excessive. Overall a good choice if you want a big brand hotel on Copacabana. Opt for the bigger room here facing the beach and watch the sunrise. It’s worth it.

The best part of Rio was actually the hotel surprisingly enough. They could use a real concierge but other than that great.

I actually hated leaving the hotel to experience the city to be honest. The one thing that this hotel does need is an expert concierge. The gentleman that work in the lobby say that they're all concierges but they're not 100% competent about the things to do and to see in the city and don't understand the museum structure and restaurant nuances of a city such as Rio. I love the swimming pool it was a bit small but it was fine service was very good room was very good although I had a hideous view but I have to say I opted for the bottom level rooms. So I had a view of an air shaft but it was a very nice room very good amenities I got chocolates wrapped in a box on my bed I like the professionalism of the staff the drinks and food weren't too expensive. I did not get breakfast included breakfast is not worth the money that they charge. There is a great breakfast place called Bibi the charges 10 US dollars for five items on their breakfast special menu before 11:00 a.m. and that place is great. I only looked at the breakfast I couldn't get myself to pay 42 or $45 or whatever the ridiculous price was for quite average looking breakfast. I tasted with my eyes. The service was excellent they only have a few little snafu's they could work on to make this hotel excellent excellent excellent. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!! I might opt for a higher category room just because I don't like looking at air shafts but it did make it easier to sleep without having to close the curtains cuz it was darkish. I enjoyed the comfort and the cleanliness of the room. I think the hotel was the best experience of my trip in Rio. Which I would definitely not go back to. The beach is not my exact version of what I would call sexy for sure. The water is quite murky and cold. Also they had a great amenity of having a station on the beach where the Miramar gives you umbrellas and complimentary water if you're one of their guests. They also let people stay after checkout and hang out in the pool until their flight departed which I appreciate it as well. Excellent job Miramar thank you for a wonderful stay.

Perfect place to enjoy Rio beach life

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This hotel location is great, the breakfast was amazing as were the staff. Also you had access to beach with towels and sun chairs. Rooms were well equipped. The only reason I’ve given this a 4 and not a 5 is because we were on the second floor and I wasn’t comfortable with people on the street being able to look straight into our room. So if you go make sure you try to stay on a top level.

Given a disabled Room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We were told we were upgraded to this hotel from its sister hotel across the road the Windsor Martinique . The hotel has a modern reception , checking was extremely slow even having 6 people behind reception, complementary drink was a nice touch , we were given a room for disabled people(513) but not told at reception and had I have been staying more than one night would have requested a change . The toilet seat was badly broken and for this standard hotel should have been changed promptly . The bathroom sink was very low , disabled access , one bedroom light was always dimly on . Breakfast options are great and service at breakfast was also great . Porter services were also very good , being prompt and friendly .

Tired 3 star hotel at best

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This is not a 5 star hotel. The common areas are small cramped and uninviting. The hotel is dated and the rooms whilst large are soulless and very dark. The staff are underwhelming. The rooftop area is tiny and gets very crowded. The breakfast was poor so we ate out each day.
