Seaside oasis

This is a beautiful resort in a lovely setting by the ocean. The pools, rooms & grounds are well kept. The service is exceptional! I would definitely recommend!

Don't waste your time if you want what you paid for!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

I paid for the Oceanview room so I could sit on the porch and watch the ocean roll in at night and during the walk directly on to the beach. Three days in large fences went up restricting everyone from the beach in front of my room and building. We lost access and view and no one could tell us why. I finally found out from the pool people that a corporation was having a private party and took up just about all access to the beach. WTH??? I had 2 days left on my vacation, no direct access to the beach and my view now became a portable bathroom and a generator. No more clean smell. ,just the smell of generator gas burning in the night and it was loud and drowned out the tv since they were directly in fron tof my room. Don't waste your time with this resort. The staff were very pleasant and the cleaning ladies were exceptional. Too bad the Hyatt Regency big wigs didn't care about the individuals who paid for their rooms for the location, ease of getting on the beach, and view.

Expensive but Customer Care was Cheap !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Hotel is beautiful. For what you pay I would have expected better customer care and attention to details. Why should I have to call Housekeeping daily. The check in and check out line is far too long. The food and beverage was average. I travelled with a large group to a wedding and we spent a significant amount at the Hotel. A small token beyond those awful, cheap mojitos would have been great. I expected so much more in terms of customer care and attention to details.

Just OK

The resort offers many amenities including spa, beach access, multiple pools, multiple on site restaurants/markets/quick dining options, paddle sports and golf nearby. While nice, some of the areas look a bit worn and could use updating. Attention to detail is not a focus. After rain and storms, there was a crew picking up vegetation debris but not picking up trash like plastic cups or food wrappers. They have individuals cleaning the pool furniture, but not picking up the trash that has blown behind the cabanas. This is an overall nice resort, but I've stayed at nicer resorts for the same price in Curaçao and other islands. Staff are friendly however one experience baffled me as a guest. I entered a coffee shop on site and two employees were talking off to the side of the walk up order kiosk. I went to kiosk and started to place my order by the attendant who looked over at the employees uncertain if to take my order or not. I asked to two employees if they were ordering and apologized if I went ahead of them by accident- again they were not in front of the kiosks. They said they were going to order. I offered to let them continue and I would wait. They both went ahead of me. Many resorts I've stayed at have employees trained to always put guests first. In this situation I am not trying to imply I am better than employees, just attention to high level service. Puerto Rico is a nice island but not sure I would return.
