Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach & Golf Resort

We’ve been having a great time here. I’ll probably write another review, but I’d like to give Jared with Recreation five stars of his own. He politely set us up at the beach with an umbrella and lounges. Like the rest of the staff, he was super professional and from his greeting to his “Thank you” he had great English.

Room was beautiful, grounds were beautiful, view was SPECTACULAR from our room (Rainforest view), staff were all very nice and polite. Took away 1 star due to the room not being 100% clean. There was an earring and a chip on the floor, as well as hair in the drawers that I had to clean out before I put my clothes in. So that was very disappointing. Especially given how much it costs to stay there. We even had a discounted rate since we were there on a business trip, but if I had paid 100% the normal rate and was there for personal time, I would have asked for some $ back, but didn't want to since like I said, it was a business trip. Theres also a musty smell to the rooms. This is the second time we've been here, and both times, it smelled musty, but I think its due to the humidity. They could possibly add bathroom fans perhaps to help that. I've never been to a hotel that didnt have bathroom fans. Overall, I'd still go back, since it wasn't any major things I couldn't get past, and still an amazing experience. Oh, I did almost forget the worst part- they give you complimentary water bottles since they are a "green" hotel and you can fill them up where they have water and ice rooms, however, we did not use them due to the ice machines being MOLDY and DISGUSTING. I couldn't imagine what the inside looks like if the outside was that bad, and that really did disturb me, since that could make me physically sick if I had used it, especially since I have a mold allergy.

We stayed for a week for a business conference, but brought our whole family including many young children. The property was beautiful and entertaining. We loved the daily events, especially the iguana feedings, pool races, basketball and how friendly the event coordinators were. Bianca and Marina were the best! Thank you for making it a wonderful experience for my children. Your patience and kindness were top notch!

Amazing breakfast every morning. Juan P was the best! Gorgeous beach, friendly staff, great time.
