The perfect place for all kinds of kinds!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

What an amazing place to stay!!!! I am NOT a beach lover, but my kids are... and this hotel sits right in between the beach and the rainforest! So after an exhausting day in the sun at the beach, I got to come back to the hotel and sit on the balcony that overlooked the enchanting rainforest! Immediately, when you walk in to check in, your breath will be taken away from the view, and I don't know what scent that they have in that hotel is, but I need to find it in a candle!!! It is so relaxing. This hotel was by far such an incredible part of our vacation- from the pools, to the waterslides, to the roomservice and views... we cant wait tomgo back! On a less dreamy and joyful note, they do get you with daily resort fee (about $45 a day) which we were not expecting- i'm sure it was written somewhere but I was too excited to go on vacation to read the fine print. They do also offer parking, but it's $20 a day to self park. They have a casino and event space on site, so if there is an event going on or a wedding, parking is still limited, and you may have to park pretty far away in the sun. They have a shuttle, but we always found it was faster to walk - and you never know when you'll see an iguana, or a crab walking on the sidewalk!

Melanie from the Tiki Hut is excellent!

On our first day we rented a cabana by the family pool and Melanie from the Tiki Hut was our server for the day. Melanie was extremely attentive and accommodating and helpful with answering all of our questions. She really helped our day to be a great one

Don't waste your money here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

If you like your money, don't stay here. The daily rates are extremely high, not even including the daily resort fee of $40 + tax. They also nickel and dime you for everything. We got charged a bellman fee when we never received any bellman service. We were also charged a daily housekeeping and gratuity fee, and we only received housekeeping services twice in 8 days! I even requested it on multiple days and no one ever showed up. The cost of food is crazy. Since the resort is far away from any kind of local restaurants or shopping, you have to eat at their restaurants and the prices are very high. My husband and I were unable to eat for less than almost $100 at every meal. We went to their Italian restaurant one night and the meal was almost $300, no alcohol. We ended up spending almost $1300 just for food for 7 days. The only shopping is their gift shop and, again, the prices are ridiculous. I needed a bathing suit and paid $130 for one that is also on Amazon at $39.99. Needed some sandals and I paid $120 for a pair that one would normally pay $30. When I asked about walking to the food and shopping that was within a 15 minute walk, I was told not to do that because of safety issues. The area outside of the resort is very scary. All of the buildings are falling apart and have bars on the doors and windows. Do yourself a favor and find a place in Old San Juan if you visit Puerto Rico. That area has plenty of places within walking distance of the hotels for eating and shopping, along with historical places to visit, and it won't break the bank. Avoid this place if you possibly can. The only reason we were at this place was because we were attending a conference. We let the conference organizers know that this was not a good choice and to try and do better next time. I never would've chosen a place like this that is so far removed from anything resembling Puerto Rico.

Poolside experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Melanie was really great. She helped serve our family. If you’re coming with a family, I definitely recommend a poolside cabana for the pool day! This resort is so family friendly.
