Overall good experience with minor gripes

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Overall we had a nice time at this hotel. The renovated ocean view room was nicely decorated and had enough space for my family of 3. The beds were comfortable and quiet. My 7-year-old loved the waterslides at the pool (thanks to Ursula the attendant!) and proximity to the beach. We ate at 5 o'clock somewhere, Iguanas, Caicu, and Roots Coastal Kitchen (breakfast only). The food was generally very good (particularly Iguanas and Caicu). Roots is the only option for breakfast on property and was the weakest of all the restaurants. One morning we went at peak time and it was a complete zoo - half the buffet stations were out of food, dozens of guests milling around, overwhelmed servers nowhere to be found, etc. The next time we got up early to avoid the crowds and it was a much better experience. My daughter did a kids class with Bianca and Jennifer and had a wonderful time - and my husband and I appreciated an afternoon to ourselves. We generally had great experiences with all the hotel staff. There were some minor annoyances however - self-parking was $20/day and in my opinion should be free given there's also a daily amenity fee. Our room was not ready at 5pm when we tried to check in which was not ideal after a long travel day and we had to wait 30-45 min in the lobby. I would have expected as a Wyndham Rewards member to at least be offered a drink coupon or some other token. We traveled at a very busy time of year (spring break for kids) and the hotel common areas were quite crowded. Pools don't open until relatively late (9-10 am) but guests were allowed to throw their belongings down and "reserve" chairs at the crack of dawn for their whole group, which I don't think should be permitted. Everything was a little overpriced and I came away feeling nickel-and-dimed. Perhaps most annoying for a hotel where beach and pool are major components - there are not enough HOOKS in the room!!! We had wet bathing suits, pool towels, bath towels, coverups, etc. hanging from every imaginable surface and then some. Add hooks or a drying rack please! All of that said, we really did enjoy our stay for the most part and appreciate the hotel staff for their work!

Aventura completa

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

It was a super fun stay in a safe and luxurious environment where adventure was the highlight of the day. The service was the best in all areas from the moment we arrived. The concierge, Joel, was a well-professional young man, managers provided another level of attention, providing exceptional service. The newly renovated areas, such as the water slides and rooms with exclusive details, complemented the special stay.
