Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Javier A. Villegas about a reservation I was trying to make using the app. I needed connecting rooms, but I couldn’t find any options to ensure I’d get the rooms I required. I briefly explained my dilemma to Javier, and he immediately relieved my stress and anxiety. Within minutes, he had my reservation booked and guaranteed the connecting rooms I needed. As someone who works in the service industry myself, I truly appreciate Javier’s exceptional customer service. His kindness and professionalism made my day, and I sincerely hope he is recognized for his outstanding work—my family and I are grateful. Thank you, Javier!

We stayed at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Resort to attend the Culinary Escape Experience. It was the perfect setting for the 3 days activity. The hotel rooms are renovated with fine taste and decoration. In room breakfast service was excellent and choices are available for all. We also enjoyed dancing with live music at the main bar with great selection of wines and cocktails.

Bianca was absolutely amazing! Honestly she was the highlight of our trip! Always so kind and had such a big smile! We were pretty disappointed with all the renovations and the fact that we didn't know until the day before we arrived. There are definitely areas of improvement here but every staff member we interacted with was very nice. Our room was very nice but the cleaning received was different everyday. Some days our clothes were folded and some days sand wasn't even vacuumed up. Construction noise was frustrating but all other noise not during construction hours was quiet and relaxing. We did not get to experience many of the amenities with all the closures. Overall I think our honeymoon could have been better but that was no fault of the staff we interacted with we just were not prepared for many many amenities being closed.

And not at all what I would consider 5 star. First, due to major Renovations more than half of the "resort" but what i say a hotel, was not functioning. Including restaurants, pools, casino, etc. I think it should be known and advised a bit louder on the website of the majority of what is not functioning. The entire staff we encountered were extremely pleasant and helpful. But the inconvenience of this hotel did not make me happy. Parking was in the basement and then the walk into the hotel and detoured to other side of margaritaville was a long haul. Once checked in at the very non overwhelming lobby you had to walk through again and up and down 2 different elevators to get to our room, yet another long haul. After a long day of traveling and having a large backpack on my back. There was no dolly service by staff to bring your bags to your room? I have never experienced this at a so called 5 star hotel. They always take your bags to your room. Our room was literally on other side and on a floor, a door away from the construction zone. We were notified via letter that in the morning they needed to do "work" in our room the next morning. I was highly upset that a 5 star hotel costing hundreds of dollars a night would disturb its guests. So monday morning we were greeting with loud and disturbing construction noise. Why even have the parts of the hotel open that are under construction? In my opinion the entire hotel should have been closed until all Renovations were completed and you aren't paying full price for not even half the amenities. Our bathroom was a bit dirty, with spit splatters on faucets and dirty under/side of toilet tank and i was honestly shockingly surprised. We had food and drinks at the very 5 star priced bar and also was charged for parking! To be honest I think the daily "resort fees" and parking should not even be a thing at a 5 star hotel costing the amount it did. Or at least waved since the renovations were being done. I will not be returning to this hotel. Very disappointed in wyndham.
