Called a “sexy, eco-conscious hideaway in the jungle” by Travel + Leisure, Viceroy Riviera Maya utilizes nature’s beauty in its design and details. Thatched stucco villas are finished with louvered mahogany doors, sisal rugs and canopy beds with Egyptian linens, and the surrounding rainforest infuses the grounds with serenity. Viceroy blends just the right amount of indulgence into your stay: Beckon a “tropical butler” for a poolside iced towel and learn about the area’s best tequilas during a tasting led by the resident Maestro Tequilero.

This is one of the nicest resorts that we have ever visited. We visited in early August for our 31st anniversary. From start to finish, we felt spoiled by the staff and the accommodations. The private villa with private pool was amazing. We loved getting up for an early morning swim. The outdoor shower was a plus too. We loved the jungle feel of the villa, which was spacious and stocked with anything you would need. We did not leave the property, because we were there to truly relax and spend time together. Because we were there during "low" season, we felt extra spoiled. One day we had the large resort pool to ourselves! Pepe and Eddie took care of anything we needed. The breakfast each morning was yummy. We also enjoyed the little treats that Pepe would bring us from the kitchen while we were relaxing by the pool/beach. We don't usually like to go back to the same places. We like to try new locations/hotels, but honestly...we can't wait to go back! Thank you to the staff for making our getaway as perfect as we hoped it would be!

Love the staff! Pepe, Willie, Ernesto, Juan, Victor, Carlos and I'm positive I forgot to mention others. What an AMAZING experience! The attention to detail, name recognition, personalization, and the overall feeling of Familia 💕 The views and location were perfect for us. It was not too touristy, adults only, and the food is out of this world! We would leave for excursions and Xel Ha (also recommend) but coming back to the Viceroy at the end of the day was Heavenly. The villas are beautifully appointed, the cut soap and mezcal at check-in are such a treat. It's a White Lotus experience without the drama LOL! My only point of feedback is the dampness and smell in the Villa. It is very humid and unfortunately keeps the sheets, clothes, paper, etc damp. I did not know I could ask for a dehumidifier until I read it in other comments. The villa came with a private pool and outdoor space but you cannot leave the doors open or the mosquitoes get in. If they can solve the dampness and maybe place a screen in front of the doors so they can be opened, the room experience would be 100%. The level of service and attention and the friends we made, would bring us back over and over. THANK YOU!

Husband and I went to celebrate our 30th anniversary, SO HAPPY we chose Viceroy RM! Firstly, the property itself provides luxury accommodations. Our villa was peaceful, aesthetically perfect, spacious, and very well appointed. Our bed was beyond comfortable, we slept very well. The plunge pool was clean, illuminated, private, and the perfect temperature. How am I ever supposed to be satisfied with a plunge pool-less hotel room ever again? The daily copal incense in our room was a plus. The staff decorated our Royal Villa for our anniversary as well as my husband's birthday. Our room service plates were inscribed with chocolate--Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, and on the last day, Have a Safe Trip! Did not use the outdoor shower but it was very private as well. The food and drink were to our liking--we did the all inclusive option, which meant we could indulge in all the ceviche, pico de gallo, guacamole, chips, and any alcoholic drink we could imagine at the pool, though sometimes we just enjoyed their fresh squeezed juices (watermelon! you're welcome). Room service was exemplary: quick, efficient, delicious. We asked for and received fresh guava and papaya every morning, and that felt like paradise. We looked forward to the little treats provided at the pool every couple of hours--papaya or guava sorbet in a giava cup. Little cakes. Little shots. Oh, and fresh cooling towels were given to us at the pool , scented with copal or sandalwood. The special touches, little things, and anticipatory requests truly made the difference in our daily activities. Mostly, we ate at Coral Restaurant. We visited La Marea one evening. It's romantic, dimly lit, the servers are very attentive, and the cuisine is deconstructed and reimagined of classic dishes, with traditional Mayan recipes. The huitlacoche was so. good. My husband's short rib was the most tender we have ever tasted. Grilled Caesar Salad a must. What made our vacation exceptional, however, was the staff. (I miss them, honestly). They got to know us, knew our preferences...we were never lacking anything. Everyone was so KIND and warm. Paolina, Pepe, Yoshi, Pedro, Alejandro, Alberto, the spa staff, (my apologies to anyone whose name I forgot), there is not one resort staff member who wasn't expressly happy to make your day and overall vacation the best it could be. We had an 80-minute couples massage outdoors, near a waterfall. Highly recommend the use of spa facilities and choosing among the services they provide. Our senses were filled and our bodies completely relaxed. Getting taxis was easy! Paolina, our concierge, can help you with anything. There was some sargassum. The water was beautiful, gradients of blues and greens, past the patches of seaweed. We did not ocean swim, but did not feel this took away from our overall experience. The pool was our favorite place to be. We chose the Melipona Bee Experience--fascinating! Short and sweet. Also, the Mezcal and Taco tasting hosted by Yoshi. One of the highlights of the trip. Learned so much. Mini tacos were unparalleled, especially the sweet taco (chocolate). Our connecting flight got turned around because of weather + Space X debris, and we got to the property at 12:30am. Alberto waited for us and took his time explaining everything like it was the middle of the afternoon, but was specifically considerate of how tired we were. If and when we decide to revisit PDC, this is where we are going.

We have had the privilege of staying at many exceptional properties all over the world but we ALWAYS come back to the Viceroy Riviera Maya. The facility is perfect. Each secluded casita receives the utmost personalized attention. The oversized king sized bed, personal plunge pool, patio & outdoor shower make for a private calm getaway spot. The pool & gym are immaculate & well appointed. Spa is outstanding; Maria is a great masseuse (& yoga teacher). The food is 5 star. But, it is the staff that makes this place so special. Every need is attended. Attentive beach service keeps you well hydrated & well fed. Luis, Pepe & his colleagues attend to your every need. Dining al fresco on the patio or in the upstairs restaurant is a special experience with gourmet attention ( gracias a Alejandro Salgado) to local cuisine & standout service by Viktor & Manula. We look forward to a return visit soon Ricardo y Harrieta
