Corinthia Rome

I just checked out of the Corinthia Rome and was sad to leave as I do not get to Rome that often. What an absolutely lovely place to stay in Rome! I am not sure the pictures can quite capture the understated elegance of this newly renovated hotel. I stayed in a Superior Room facing the courtyard which was gorgeous, bright, and calm. The courtyard is centered with a trickling fountain where I enjoyed delicious breakfasts. The hotel is centrally located, but not in a chaotic area overrun with tourists like much of Rome. In addition, it’s dangerous close to Giolitti, one of the best gelato places in Rome. Above all, it was the staff that made the stay most memorable. From the front desk, the servers, the porters, the spa technicians…they are all especially warm and attentive and made the stay feel more intimate rather than like a well-oiled, luxury experience factory like some bigger top hotels. The staff was comparable to few other hotels I have experienced in my global travels.

We moved from a week at the St Regis to this hotel for a week. It recently opened in April. The reason that I give five stars is the quality of the staff. Especially at the start of our week when the hotel was not full, we were treated like royalty. The doormen greeted us by name, everyone was polite and kind. At the breakfasts every morning in the open air courtyard- our charismatic Lucio served us delicious food with charming stories. He was so kind as to arrange gluten free pastries for me every day so I would not feel neglected when my husband was served the regular pastries. He is joined by the lovely Stefano. We had our dinners in the small hotel pub and the food was good and we were served by the friendly Max who remembered what we liked and made sure we had it. These gentlemen are what gives this hotel an upscale vibe. As for the hotel itself it is a renovated bank in a good location. The finishes are nice. I did not use either the spa or pool so I cannot comment on those. The air conditioning works very well which was essential during the heat wave. Our room was small, with a medium/low ceiling (compared to the high ceiling at the St Regis) and looked out at a wall of another building. The neutral color scheme was fine. We had a nice watercolor painting on the wall. The cleaning staff did a great job keeping things clean. They gave us a bottle of champagne on the first night. Every day we got a large bottle of still and sparkling water in glass (Pelegrino and Evian) and small glass bottles of Filette. Also, we got a variety of fruit. The issues for me were noise, comfort and scent. We could hear traffic and construction noise (there is renovation going on in the building across the street even during the night). I would suggest asking for a room that faces the interior courtyard instead. There are blinds that work in the room but are not sufficiently covering in the bathroom so that it is not dark enough at night. The bed was very firm so not comfortable for me. If you like firm beds you will be happy. The linens were good except that they give a very warm duvet. Too warm for the summer. The pillows felt too soft. We asked for no air freshener but felt that the cleaning staff used air freshener during our stay. They had offered us a “pillow spray” on the first night so perhaps the pillows smelled of that. We asked for new pillows and they also had that overpowering scent so maybe the laundry wash that they use is just overly scented. I would recommend that they use an unscented detergent and not offer guests pillow perfume. Many of us hate artificial scents. The bathroom was good. There was a small toilet area, bathtub and separate shower with good water pressure (the St Regis did not have great water pressure in one of our rooms). The towels were nice and fluffy. The products were overly scented but I always bring my own products. Strangely, the carpet was placed on the towel rack twice so that I accidentally dried my hands on the bathroom carpet thinking it was a towel. We had a small seating area and a television that worked fine. There are excessive lights so that it takes a minute to figure out how to just have gentle light and not everything lit up bright. The do not disturb light was always respected so no one disturbed us when it was on (unlike the St Regis which ignored the privacy light). There are places near the bed to charge your phone. The location is good and walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and sights. There is a grocery store a block away. It is a walkable area and is very busy both during the day and at night. If you come here you will enjoy getting pampered by the wonderful staff and you will like the food and the location. You will also get to hear pretty church bells from your room and at the breakfast area. If you need very soft beds and total quiet you may be happier at the St Regis.

Our recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of perfection!! We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, and the hotel went above and beyond to acknowledge our special milestone, which made us feel incredibly valued. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty and were absolutely thrilled to receive a room upgrade that set a wonderful tone for the entire celebratory trip. The service throughout our stay was completely impeccable; everyone from the front desk team and the friendly bellmen to our meticulous day and night room stewards went above and beyond, proving to be incredibly helpful and entirely on point at every turn. On top of the flawless hospitality, the food was amazing—every meal we had was delicious and beautifully prepared. The outstanding staff and luxurious experience made such an impression on us that we are already planning our next trip. We will definitely return in 2027!

I am a harsh critic. This hotel was fabulous! Literally everything about it - location cannot be beat, the room was gorgeous, comfortable, housekeeping was extraordinary, towels were large and thick, front desk was helpful. The flowers are exquisite. It easily revivals a boutique version of a fine St Regis. Rooms are quiet, food was fantastic. Go to Rome and stay at thr Corinthia.

Superb , recently opened boutique hotel in the center of Rome. We were really taken by the highest level of service and quality of the finishes of this fabulous new hotel . We were fortunate to be upgraded to a suite on our arrival and what an amazing set of rooms ! Absolutely magnificent marble bathroom with full walk in shower and separate bath. The towels are fluffy and the accessories are superb. Nothing spared and just a pleasure , it was very thoughtfully finished with absolutely nothing missing. We had a wonderful dressing room with plenty of hangers and space for our clothes. The bedroom was divine, super comfortable bed with crisp white linens and the most wonderful down quilt. We slept like babies with no noise or disturbances from the corridor. The room decor was a muted cream color with plenty of light from the large windows. The black-out blinds were absolutely effective and they certainly helped our sound sleep. The hotel staff deserve their praise, always around to help and suggest . Always asking us if they can assist but not hovering too much. The hotel has a centrally enclosed courtyard and it is delightful. You can have all your meals there and depending on the time of day not be in full sun.. Food is beautifully prepared with both a light snack and a large dinner menu. Breakfasts are really nice although my only criticism is the buffet could be prepared with more choices. The cheese selection was poor and there was very little in fresh fruit, yogurts or smoked meats on display.. The breads and pastries were also missing so this needs improvement.A hotel of this calibre really needs a larger buffet selection and was the only area that was not up to the expected level. Overall though a wonderful new hotel has arrived in Rome and we will certainly be staying there again on our next trip to Rome. Bravo !!!!
