About the Hotel

Rome's magnificent Empire Palace Hotel was built in the 1870s for a family of Italian nobles. Its beautifully restored ceiling frescoes of the heavens reflect a meticulous regard for the building's origins, while daring contemporary artwork in the lobby delivers this landmark into the 21st century. As for the guestrooms, their elegance is timeless. In the garden courtyard, cypress and magnolia trees surround a 16th-century fountain. During the summer months, diners at Aureliano can enjoy the restaurant's acclaimed Mediterranean cuisine in this romantic, outdoor space.

Amazing true Roman experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I came here on a solo trip as my first visit to Rome ever. As a female traveling alone the hotel is extremely important. I have to say this hotel is what really made my trip amazing. Everything about it was perfect, it was clean, the team was amazing and hospitable, the aesthetic was amazing. It's gave true roman vibes. Gianluca assisted me throughout my entire stay and he is the more unforgettable part about my visit to Rome. He made plenty of recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area that aligned with what I was looking for as well as made sure my room was the best fit for what I wanted. I will definitely come back to Rome and I this is definitely going to be where I stay. I left at home miles away from my "real home". I 10/10 recommend to anyone visit Rome, either alone or with friends, family, even for business.

Good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The staff were amazing very kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Unfortunately, we had to separate our family, and the hotel was unable to place us on the same floor. As a result, my husband and one child were not close to me, which was disappointing. The Wi‑Fi in my room was initially very poor and did not work reliably. After the first day, the staff provided a higher-speed connection, which improved the situation somewhat. I also experienced an issue with the shower drain, as water would pool around my feet while showering. Additionally, I did not particularly enjoy the carpet throughout the hallways and in the room. On a positive note, the restaurant food was delicious, and the wait staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and provided excellent service.

Comfortable Stay with Classic Rome Atmosphere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We had a wonderful stay at UNAHOTELS Empire Roma during our trip to Rome. The hotel had a classic Roman charm while still feeling comfortable and updated where it mattered most — especially the remodeled bathroom and very comfortable beds after long sightseeing days. One of our favorite parts was opening the beautiful double windows at night and enjoying the atmosphere of Rome from our room. The location was extremely convenient for getting around the city using the FreeNow taxi app, which worked perfectly throughout our stay. There was also a local market just one block away where we picked up drinks, snacks, and essentials, plus a cozy coffee shop next door that became our morning routine every day before exploring the city. The staff was accommodating and welcoming throughout our stay, and overall the hotel felt safe, comfortable, and well-located without being overly touristy. We would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, well worth a stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Lovely spacious hotel, with good quality bedroom and bathroom. Exceptionally quiet bedroom despite hotel being busy, including a conference. Good choice of food offerings for the buffet breakfast. Staff very friendly & helpful. Great location & approx. 15 minute walk to the central train station. Would recommend.

DONT STAY HERE, RIP OFF, NO working AC.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

First, the AC didn't work the whole time we were there. They said it was because our window was open, which it was not. They control the AC from the front desk, off/on etc. I will attach a picture of how we Jerry rigged it to stay on for periods at a time. The shower was crazy, nothing to prevent the water from shooting all over the bathroom. Front desk staff was rude and non-attentive. The lady with the long blonde hair was horrible, didn't even smile of look up at you. The thing that bothered me the MOST, was on settling my bill the night before, they said I owed 228.00. I said what is that for? He couldn't tell me. He said you must have eaten something out of the fridge, NOPE. He said we'll you may eat something later tonight, OMG WTH. NOPE. I asked again if he could show me what the charge was for, he couldn't. So he took it off. Free breakfast was horrible, everything was cold, even the eggs and meats.

A great find for us is the Empire Palace Hotel in Rome! Beautiful rooms, excellent service and delicious food made it difficult to be tourists. We were late to leave the hotel in the mornings because of the breakfasts, and we were back early every evening to relax at the bar and nap before dinner!
