Six-story hotel housed in a restored late-17th century building with Napoleonic décor, Grand Hotel de la Minerve is a 5-star luxury hotel in Rome. Located in the heart of Rome’s historic center this beautiful hotel has been meticulously maintaining its noble, elegant lines and the atmosphere of a comfortable, welcoming aristocratic “home”. A luxurious hotel that has kept true to its origins, it still offers a perfect touch of modern 21st century amenities. The hotel is also one of few in the world to have its own private chapel. Guest rooms and suites are classically furnished, and all come with minibars, complimentary Wi-Fi, and beautiful marble bathrooms with tubs.

Although this property has a great location and a recent renovation, there are many issues. The value simply isn't there for a hotel with a poorly equipped gym in an old hotel room (no room for more than two people), a spa that has no pool or sauna - only treatments and a hammam spa that requires pre booking. The rooftop restaurant, although a pleasant environment, has poorly trained service staff and inedible food. Lastly, for a €2000 per night cost for a basic room, it is surprising to be charged an additional €90 for 'staff gratuities' on checkout. It would have been nice to have been informed of this policy on check in, and frankly I have never experienced this in any other hotel property internationally. I would suggest patronizing one of the many other luxury hotel options in Rome.

wanted to,try this place as new hotel to the Accor family. Location. 5/5 awesome location right in the middle of the Mars Campus with 2 minutes to get to the Pantheon. Less than 5 to get to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and 10 to the Coliseum. Multiple gelato and restaurants nearby with 3 small supermarkets nearby. Across the street is a Bernini sculpture outside and a Michelangelo in the church. Room. 5/5. Originally booked a Superior room but was upgraded to a Grand Deluxe room. Room was very well maintained and clean. Website says room should be 41 sq m but was told 35 but was more 32. Could not complain as an ungraded room. Quiet and could not hear much noise from outside despite being close to Pantheon. Minibar fridge lets you have complimentary soft drinks and non alcoholic spritz drinks. Turn down is efficient but they give as a gift the same ear plugs and sleep mask each night. Two small cookies were also left with the masks. kind of repetitive to give masks and ear plugs each night if you stay for six nights. they aslo have a clothes steamer and hair straightener in the room service. 3/5 this is where the hotel drops the ball. reception staff was friendly and check in and check out was good. housekeeping was inconsistent. we requested four bath towels everyday but they missed on two days. requested extra bath towel and received bath robe, asked for hangers with clips and got regular ones. Amenities in the washroom were not replaced everyday when depleted. Door staff would often stand around and chat with each other sometimes blocking the door. Some would not acknowledge us when we returned or left. Some restaurant staff would stand and chat with the hostess and others would run around doing most of the work. When breakfast was busy, plates would pile up on the table (esp if you sat in the overflow area) Food. 4/5. breakfast was included and was a buffet with ordering. the buffet selection was very good with cheeses and pastries. large selection to order from and as many times as you wanted. When busy the food would come slower. Fast if you went early in the morning. Lunch menu is small but good quality Accor. 4/5 was welcomed as an Accor member and received an email prior to check in from Daniel who is the hotel’s Accor Rep. he reached out to ensure things were ok prior to and during our stay. Received a bottle of champagne and cake as a welcome gift. Only gaffe was the welcome drink. They need to fox their welcome drink to be on the app. Reception initially said come and get voucher when you want, then said just show your app, bartender knew nothing of the drink and had to go back forth just to get your welcome drink. Should be easier to get the benefit that we earn as members. overall the hard product is very good but the service is where it losses it ratings. Service should have much better for the price point and brand. would still recommend but they need to up their service.

I’ll start by saying that my wife enjoys trying unique/high end hotels. From the Old Cataract in Aswan Egypt to The One in Kauai Hawaii to Josun Palace in South Korea, we have tried dozens. This sits right at the top of the list for basically everything. My big requirement is a great bed with an amazing AC. Check! It was almost on par with the Four Seasons, which is saying a lot because they pride themselves on their bed. The service was incredible. Our “Conductor,” or essentially personal assistant was Viola. Viola was awesome to work with. We would just text when we needed anything. The concierge was extremely helpful with any food recommendations or travel arrangements around the town. And the gentlemen at the front doors were so helpful and fun to chat with. Everybody was great! We were here for a couple nights for our anniversary and with some family on their honeymoon. As other posts have stated, they had gifts, flowers, personalized pictures of us and notes left in the room. They really go all out. Then there is the actual hotel. It is so unique and very much decorated in the culture. The rooftop bar and restaurant were fantastic letting you overlook the Pantheon. You could literally through a rock and hit it. Food was great, service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was to die for. The room was very well put together had everything we needed. High end blow dryer, straightener, and steamer in the room. Free non alcoholic drinks, snacks, and other things in the mini bar for purchase. Even when we called down for ice, the first thing asked was if it was for whiskey or a bucket for Champaign. Top notch with everything. I even got my laptop painted by a street artist right outside the room. Overall, I don’t know what they could do to make it better. Maybe have full on massage chairs in the room? 😂 I highly recommend it and will be returning here when we come back. Expensive… yes. Worth it…. Absolutely!

Having stayed in some of the great hotels of the world : we booked three night a at La Minerva before a stay on Orvieto just to try this new hotel. We were not disappointed. As a matter of fact: it might have been our best hotel experience ever. Thanks to our Virtuoso travel agent we were upgraded to a spectacular suite. What is special is the sense of place. Staying at a 5 star hotel in Europe that feels like you are in Boston : lovely but not what you want. The details here. Outstanding. Roman. Gorgeous. The bars. The breakfast. To Hear my name called out: are you sure you don’t want to have a drink at the speakeasy tonight in our way to the elevators . Of course we went. Valentina taking us to our room : we know we were in for Magical experience. The location. Perfect. Quiet. The staff. Everyone felt like family. We are already figuring out how to return. Rome truly has GREAT hotels. This one shines.

Yes, this is an expensive hotel (very expensive), but you get what you pay for. Everything about this hotel is 1st class. Even before we arrived we received several messages from the staff welcoming us and asking if there was anything they could do for us, from the temperature of the room to the arrangement of the beds. We were also able to book a dinner at their amazing rooftop restaurant. We arrived very early in the morning but they had no problem allowing us to check in at 8.00am! We were only there for one night, but they allowed us to stay until 2.00pm the following day, well after the scheduled checkout time. The room was enormous, spotlessly clean, and beautifully appointed. A bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket greeted us. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the room. The staff all speak good English and were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated right on the Piazza della Minerva, and the Pantheon is a minute away. Perfect location. Our dinner at the rooftop restaurant was one of the highlights of our holiday. Beautiful food, flawless service, and a table looking over the Pantheon. As I said, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. This hotel ticks every box and guarantees a special time in Rome.
