Grand Hotel Palace

Unfortunately, our stay at the Grand Hotel Palace in Rome fell well short of what we would expect from a 5-star hotel. The front desk staff were not particularly helpful, with one young lady in particular consistently appearing to be in a bad mood. We reported on several occasions that the shaver socket in our room was not working, as we needed it to charge our toothbrushes, but nothing was ever done to resolve the issue. The breakfast was also disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The scrambled eggs and sausages were cold, even when we attended at the very start of breakfast service at 07:00. Housekeeping was another issue. There was mould around the bath, shower gel was left empty and not replenished, and on one occasion used glasses, cups and coffee pods were removed but not replaced. We had to contact reception and ask for someone from housekeeping to bring replacements. Overall, the hotel has the potential to be a good 5-star property, but the level of service, housekeeping and breakfast quality during our stay did not meet the standard we expected.

This hotel is fine from a utilitarian perspective but there is a lot of room for improvement. The front desk staff are not terribly helpful (they never once were able to break larger bills when needed to tip bellmen) or friendly. The breakfast was fine but not great (though service was better there). The room lacks counter space which is needed when traveling between cities - this despite the fact that there was plenty of floor space. The location is also mediocre. Directly across from the US Embassy the hotel is located in a nice area but almost too quiet and lacking in amenities.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Palace in Rome from Friday to Monday. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed. On arrival, the staff were not very helpful with our luggage, especially compared with the assistance we saw being offered to other guests. We also had people enter our room despite us having said that we did not want anyone to come in, which was disappointing and impacted our privacy. Why are people walking into to our room multiple times in a row. On a positive note, the room itself was clean and well maintained throughout our stay.

Our stay at the Grand Palace Hotel in Rome exceeded our expectations. The location was outstanding—situated in a safe, upscale neighborhood and within easy walking distance of countless restaurants, shopping, and many of Rome's most iconic sights. The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Each morning, the breakfast was delicious, with an impressive variety of fresh options that easily fueled a full day of sightseeing. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was especially impressive—large, luxurious, and finished with stunning marble throughout, giving it a true five-star feel. The entire hotel has an elegant, upscale atmosphere while still offering excellent value for the quality, service, and location. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the Grand Palace Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel in Rome.

Centrally located, friendly staff. Gym and swimming pool a lovely extra although booking rules were a little frustrating. Room wasn’t always serviced (needed paper cups for coffee and they hadn’t been replenished, and had to ask 3 times)
