Hotel De La Ville, a Rocco Forte Hotel

Arrival is smooth and unforced. Check-in happens without any sense of formality dragging on, and the staff strike that rare balance: attentive without being overbearing. There’s a quiet confidence in how they operate—things are simply handled, often before you even think to ask. The suite leans into comfort rather than showiness. It’s well put together, with soft lighting, calm tones, and thoughtful details that make it easy to unwind after a long day in the city. Nothing feels excessive, but everything feels considered. The spa is a pleasant surprise—tucked away, calm, and genuinely relaxing. It’s the kind of space where you lose track of time a little, especially after a treatment or just sitting in the quiet. Upstairs, the rooftop is where the hotel really shines. The views stretch across Rome’s rooftops and domes, and depending on the time of day, the atmosphere shifts from laid-back to quietly glamorous. Sunset, in particular, is hard to beat. Location-wise, it’s ideal. You’re right in the middle of everything, but just far enough above the crowds to feel removed when you want to be. Overall, Hotel de la Ville gets the essentials right—comfortable spaces, great location, and a team that knows how to make a stay feel easy rather than orchestrated.

Excellent staff in beautiful surroundings.

First class hotel with excellent service. Our room was beautiful. The rooftop restaurant was excellent and the staff attentive but also providing great tips when visiting the city. Especially Uri.
