Hotel De La Ville, a Rocco Forte Hotel 

We booked Level 7 Villa Terrace for a surprise engagement party. From planning (from Australia) to the actual event, everything was perfect.

The staff was attentive, kind and charismatic. The ambiance at the rooftop was one of a kind. The food was absolutely divine, the brazino was the best I have ever had and I travel quite a bit. Terrific in accommodating my gluten free diet due to celiac disease.

I had an incident that occurred on my second night, a massive blunder by the hotel and events team and I angrily posted a two star rating. I decided to delete that because it is not fair to the best hotel staff and service I HAVE EVER SEEN anywhere. And to the managements credit they did not make excuses but accepted blame, apologized and made it up to me as best they could. Thats class. I don’t even know where to begin praising this incredible hotel. We came to Rome 30 years ago and could not afford luxury hotels at that time but dreamed of one day staying at The Hassler. We returned to Rome for our 30 year anniversary and can now after 30 years of hard work afford to stay anywhere and we chose Hotel De La Ville after a detailed comparison to The Hassler . We travel a lot 5 times this year and stay at only 5 star luxury hotels. We just came from the Paris Ritz and Four Seasons Budapest last month and I will say without question this is the BEST hotel I have ever been at. We considered the Hassler but thought it was dated. Thank god we chose this hotel. Literally every single person we have interacted has a big genuine smile on their face and a warm greeting for us. Even knowing our names . The concierge may be the best I’ve ever worked with. The hotel room is stunning, combing an authentic Roman of world feel with contemporary. The Cielo rooftop bar food and drinks including the Mama Mia cocktail and Roman inspired dim sum was sublime and the views and decor and amenities are incredible. I have to give a special shout out to the housekeeping staff. Best I have ever seen from four seasons to the Paris Ritz attention to detail and time spent even with the turn down service is exceptional with so many small things like putting my sunglasses under a glass cleaning cloth. Arranging my shoes and toiletries. Who does that? The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever seen and literally every single item from pastries to breads to meats and cheeses was exceptional quality and flavor. Cappuccino with designs in the foam. Scrambled eggs pretty basic normally was called Eggs Carbonara, prepared with cheeses and guanciale and was creamy salty and incredible. We are overjoyed to be here and it has far exceeded our greatest expectations. And we are very particular. Honestly a perfect hotel with not 5 but 10 star service at the best location in Rome. Just above Spanish Steps short walk to all sites. .5 miles to Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and so much more. Great restaurants and high end shopping just below the steps.

The staff here is like nothing I have experienced. They are AMAZING !! Every where on this massive property is 7* hospitality. - Liola,s wait staff and hostess are impeccable- Jessica , Maurizio, tops ! Stephanie @ Buongiorno - bkfst - super !!! Giampaolo - bar mgr Is TOPS!! this place is a must see to wind down from the typical Italy tourist attractions. Unplug / spa/ gym /massive pools / golf/ great dining. Beautiful Mediterranean Sea view !! LOVE THIS RESORT ! Rocco Forte is a genius !

Located adjacent to the Spanish Steps, Hotel De La Ville provides exceptional luxury in one of Rome’s very best locations. Rooftop bar is an excellent place to meet friends and enjoy a cocktail or sample the local wine list. Breakfast is a combination of buffet and à la carte and won’t disappoint. Service was exceptional - as we have come to expect at an RF hotel.
