Rome, Italy is a city that requires the use of superlatives in its description. Western culture and history call this modern city home, as can be witnessed in the beautiful architecture, breathtaking collections of art and sculpture, and even in the stones beneath your feet. Rome is a place to feast the senses and inspire the spirit, and the Hotel Dei Mellini is the place to rest your head at the end of each memorable day. Located on the right bank of the Tiber River, calling the Spanish Steps and St. Peters Cathedral as close neighbors, guests are privy to vistas and access that few encounter in this legendary city. Opulent and comfortable, with modern amenities and an Art Deco décor, the Dei Mellini is your luxurious address in ancient Rome.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel after our cruise, we felt welcomed at Hotel Dei Mellini. From the kind bellman who whisked our bags up the steps to the front desk staff who recommended great places to eat and checked in on us frequently, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also loved the rooftop lounge and the swing to relax after a full day of sight-seeing. The hotel is located in the heart of Rome so that all you want to see is within walking distance or an easy cab ride. We appreciated the breakfast opening early so we could eat before going to the airport. Highly recommend this boutique hotel for a stay in Rome!

Great hotel, we had a suite and plenty of room. Very quiet. Located a short walk from the Vatican and 1 hour walk to the colosseum. Spanish steps, Trevi fountain 20-30 min walk. Lovely, welcoming staff. Room kept very clean. Breakfast is repetitive but enough choice to set you up for the day. Would stay again.

Dei Mellini has been a wonderful place in several ways. It's staff, ambiance, the spacious rooms and its location close to the Vatican, the Tiber and many of the places you want to see in Rome is just perfect for someone eager to explore Rome on foot. Go out and eat like the locals or for some early runs along the Lungotevere, it is an ideal place that I highly recommend.

Based on a Superior Double Room, the price and the reviews, our experience was quite disappointing. The room was particularly small, as was the bathroom. No ventilation in the bathroom and not much space to hang towels which meant that they didn't dry! Breakfast was OK but items were not replenished very frequently so they ran out of Orange Juice, milk, Coffee, Fruit salad, cheese, etc. and these weren't replenished quickly, even when asked for. Location was good for the Vatican and not too far from the centre, despite being across the river in the Prati district.

Beautifully located hotel near all the popular sights. Angelo on reception at our arrival made us feel very welcome and was very friendly and jovial. In fact, all of the staff that we met were very motivated, professional but really personable. They really went out of their way to make our 4 night stay a truly positive and memorable experience. Our room (double superior) was a good size, comfortable and clean. We had everything that we needed. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and and the staff were friendly and willing to accommodate our needs and preferences. We were sorry to have to check out at the end of our stay and could have easily stayed for another 2 or 3 nights. Once again, Angelo made the check out experience feel seamless, although I was surprised by the 60 Euro Local Tax added to the bill, which has definitely significantly risen, since our last visit to Rome in 2012. All in all a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel. We look forward to our next visit.
