nice hotel and nice location, not much noisy traffic which in Rome is unusual!

We were part of a group of 11 in a tour who stayed here for 3 nights. Very convenient location, great bar service, always a substantial cup of peanuts and potato chips with every drink! Great breakfast spread, but that seems to be the norm for all nice hotels in Italy. Great seafood restaurant just steps away, ate there twice. When we arrived we didn't have time for much before our tour was to begin and the bar wasn't serving food for another hour but he told us where we could get a pizza slice just half a block away that was already cooked, we did and that worked out great.

Lovely hotel

We stayed here 26th 29th October with friends. This is a really good hotel. Perfectly placed for all of Romes major attractions. We had a superior room with a step out Balcony on the 6th floor so if you get vertigo stay inside. Our room was directly opposite some apartments so a little over looked but not a huge issue. Beds were a little hard and the room could do with better coffee making facilities but again not a huge problem. Breakfast was a Buffet affair with a a nice selection of cold cuts cheese fruit and pastries Cooked breakfast was ok nice bacon Sausage and scrambled egg and facilities for boiling your own egg if you want it. The coffee machine wasnt brilliant it wouldnt make an Americano. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying here and pretty good value

Another Great Experience at Hotel Dei Mellini

Another wonderful experience at Hotel Dei Mellini! We stay at this hotel as a post cruise night. We had the opportunity to stay at this location three times prior. From the minute the car dropped us at the front door the bell hop was there to greet us and take the luggage. The front desk staff greeted us and quickly checked us in. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. The hotel even provided turn down service. The location is another positive feature of this hotel, not far from the Spanish Steps and Vatican. Will certainly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Top Notch Property

Wow! This is an excellent property. We were assigned a suite with every possible amenity. The Front Desk was professional and helpful. The breakfast had lots of choices with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs etc. The location was great since it was an easy walk across the bridge to access the sights. The rooftop terrace was quiet and lovely.

Disappointing visit and wouldn’t return

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My third trip to Rome. Recently stayed with friends at the hotel - we wouldn’t revisit this hotel though. Check in was seamless. We had booked 2x twin superior rooms. When we got to them one was more of a suite, the other was a really really small room. Both rooms opened onto an internal atrium that doubled up as an extra space for the breakfast area/restaurant. Rooms were Basic and clean but bright shocking pink bathroom walls didn’t give us the Traditional vibe we were expecting. Really small shower gels and shampoo etc. Didn’t even cover 2 people for 1 shower so come prepared! Coffee cups weren’t washed or changed daily despite asking reception for housekeeping to sort it out. First night we had a disturbed sleep due to building work in a neighbouring building. Air con was great. Luckily only 1 of the 4 nights was disrupted. There’s a really tired looking guest lounge near reception, the hotel could do with updating this, it all looks a bit unkept and tatty. Breakfast was really disappointing. It was limited to say the least. Coffee was offered out of an urn or a machine, neither were particularly hot. There was a selection of teabags available but water was warm. There were croissants, toast, yoghurt and fruit (that looked like it had seen better days!!) pastries ran out early and weren’t replenished. If you’re gluten free it was very restrictive with a choc muffin or roll available (both were individually wrapped but very dense/dry) Melba toast or scrambled eggs, cheese or meats. Location was great though, about a 20-25 minute walk to all of the main sights (Trevi, Vatican City, Spanish steps) Wouldn’t revisit. I would say this is more of a 3* hotel than a 4. Previously stayed at other 4* hotels in Rome and NH Roma Guistiniano was far better quality, service and equally good location and would recommend looking there or NH Roma as both are really central
