PRE-Arrival Review…. Made reservation using Amex Platinum. Usually use virtuoso agent. Emailed hotel 4 times (both reservations and concierge) to confirm bedding- reserved King+twin for 3 people and wanted to make sure bedding was correct before arriving June 15 (1 king bed + 1 twin bed). Finally on 4th email heard back from reservations- they misunderstood the email and wanted to set up 3 twin beds. So, they incorrectly confirmed the wrong thing and are never to be heard from again (after sending email #5). For an Amex platinum reservation that boasts providing upgrades/breakfast credit/etc and multiple emails to a property that gets “high” marks for responsiveness, I’m shocked. I’ve even tried to reach the hotel THROUGH the Amex site! I’m hoping my rating can improve when we check in June 15 (tomorrow)! Stay tuned for follow up post.

Restaurant and food fantastic, great staff especially the waiter Mr Wow. We had upgrade to balcony, not realy worth it as balcony is shared and you can't sit a chair on them as to narrow. Standard Europe plugs do not fit the sockets the socket holes are smaller, if you have the thinner pin plug from 1980's they fit. Shop 100m to the left of the hotel sell adaptor for €1.90 hotel sells them for €5.

My husband, mother, and I stayed here in February 2026. I chose it as it's a part of "The Edit" by Chase. Booking through Chase meant we were eligible for an upgrade, which we did receive. My mother and we had adjoining rooms on the 2nd floor at the front of the building. The feature of sharing a door was very convenient! I was grateful for this perk. We also had a complementary bottle of spring water by our beds each evening. The rooms and bathrooms were good sized. The shower was quite large. The heated towel rack was an added bonus. The closet had more or less enough room to unpack for a week, but the only provided drawers were low down and not as convenient to use. The bed was comfortable and the heat/air was easy to control. The room, though on the road, was very, very quiet. The doors in our room were some of the thickest I've ever seen in a hotel! The nightlights to help you see your way in the dark were thoughtful, though we chose not to use them after the first day (they were a little too bright for me). Breakfast- included in our rate- was plentiful and varied enough for everyone to get what they wanted. Service was consistently top notch. Umbrellas were available for the one rainy day we had. The front desk got me a bag of ice when I needed it and ordered white taxis when we wanted them to go to dinner and the airport. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel definitely deserves its high ranking and is well located in the city. We had a beautiful suite with bedroom, large bath, and sitting room that were above expectations! The staff was excellent and very helpful with directions, arranging transpotation, etc. with a smile and great attitude. The location was good with within walking distance of major attractions. (~35 minutes to the Colliseum and 45 minutes to the Vatican). The bar and restaurant require reservations but there are other very good restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety including make your own mimosas, if you are so inclined. We highly recommend the hotel!

We loved our time in Rome and the Splendide Royal. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room and bath were huge and beautifully appointed with incredibly comfy beds. (We wish they marketed the bedding!) Weather permitting - do not miss drinks on the rooftop. Sunset was spectacular.! You must make a reservation.
