Mecenate Palace Hotel

I stayed at Mecenate Palace Hotel and, overall, the experience did not justify the price paid. What I liked: The staff was polite and professional throughout the stay. Breakfast was acceptable, with a decent selection, and housekeeping was exemplary – the room was cleaned daily and kept very tidy. What I didn’t like: The hotel feels old and tired, especially the outdated carpets, which give the rooms a worn look. Sound insulation is poor – the windows do not block outside noise effectively. In my room, the heating and air conditioning system did not work properly: the temperature was constantly above 23–24°C, even when set to 21°C. Bathroom ventilation was also not functioning. Additionally, this is the first 4-star hotel I have stayed in that only provided small samples of soap, shampoo, and shower gel. No proper toiletries were offered, so we had to use our own. Overall: The price is significantly higher than what the hotel actually offers, and I would not consider it good value for money

This is a fabulous gracious Hotel, furnished and burnished by hard work and great people. The heart of the hotel is the “ cead mile failte”at Reception where the brilliant Giulia welcomed us and with her colleagues did everything to make our short time in Rome as good as possible. It’s a wonderful location opposite Saint Mary Majors and very near the Termini. The breakfast is great. Rooms are immaculate -this is our second time staying there . The bar on the rooftop has to be the best bar in Rome! This is five star service in a five star property at a five star location Thanks to all team for taking care of us so well and we look forward to seeing you soon. As we say “Go raibh míle maith agaibh”

This is a very comfortable hotel in an elegant, period building, with a roof terrace overlooking the magnificent Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Termini station and three Metro stops, with several bus routes passing close by, making for a very convenient as well as attractive location. The staff, many of whom speak good English, are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast (served on the roof terrace) is excellent. Highly recommended.

After visiting the tomb of Pope Francis from Santa Maria Maggiore, we looked for a nice lunch. Russell and Dianne, hotel staff, greeted us kindly and invited us to try their dishes. We did, and what a pleasant surprise! The service was excellent! The food! Yup! Better than the ones we tried from Trastevere! Spaghetti Amatriciana was perfect! The bacon was crunchy, and the sauce had the right amount of thickness and richness! The Pinsi Romana Focaccia con crudo was the best! The crunchiness of the crust and the slightly thicker prosciutto freshly cut and a little bit of basil was heaven! I'll be coming back here, if ever I made my third trip to Rome!

We stayed at Residenza Mecenate, which is a property managed by Mecenate Palace Hotel for a week as our home base to explore Rome during our pilgrim to Holy Doors. It is nicely located near one of the churches, which is also a resting place of the late Pope Frances. Also, within walking distance from Termini Station and Metro. The room is very spacious, clean and has everything that we need. We really enjoyed our stay and will love to stay here again if we come and visit Rome again in the future.
