There are a lot of places in Italy that are must see’s. However, Russell who works at the Mecenate Palace Hotel is a person that you must see. Extremely friendly and very personable. He made my daughter‘s first trip to Italy incredible. He treated her like a princess. And he always made sure she was taken care of. People like this are hard to find and if you are ever in Italy, I would recommend stopping by just to tell him hello.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views. Russel the bartender downstairs has been so friendly and welcoming. You can get the best espresso martinis here and the hotel is walking distance from so many places.

The hotel is situated a short walk from the main Termini Train Station which is very handy for the train from the airport (which takes 30 minutes and costs 14 Euros). It is a traditional style hotel with a lovely roof top bar and restaurant with great views. We booked a superior double which was surprisingly small but ok. I had specified a king size bed and I am not sure it was as it looked small as well but we managed. Nice powerful shower and hook behind door for my shower cap. Some products provided and nice towels. Breakfast was the usual buffet and had a good selection with nice coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. Note that everything in the room mini bar is charged – even water. This hotel fulfilled our requirements for a city break in Rome and had everything we needed.

Russell at the restaurant was absolutely amazing. He’s literally a one-man show from the beginning to the end. Thank you for making our meals spectacular

Not a 4 star hotel!!! More a 2 star. Hotel greeting was not friendly, welcoming or cordial to Anericans. Hotel Needs a major renovation. Lobby had a sewer odor, room was so small that we could not open 1 suitcase and we had 2 large suitcases. Felt like a closet and we backed up to an elevator that was noisy all the time. Bathroom fixtures rusty. Breakfast was $20 per person and if you wanted waffle or anything substantial it was extra. Had to walk a flight of spiral stairs to get to the food. Elevator did not go there!? Our Room was dusty, curtains dingy gray, and 3x we expressed our thermostate was not working. Never corrected. Avoid this one that was overpriced and a disappointment....definitely not worth the money and it is not a palace!!!
