Mecenate Palace Hotel

The hotel is rated 4 star however the rooms are in disrepair. The carpets are worn down, the bathtubs are covered in black mould. I was changed to a better room but that room had issues as well. Carpets worn, tub had cracks and chips by the faucet. As a 4 star and the price I paid i am shocked it is rated a 4 star. It behaves more like a 2 stars. The staff was incredible though and listened to my needs. But with so many options in Rome go somewhere else.

Great location , beautiful entrance to the hotel and all public areas very nice Rooftop breakfast room / restaurant/ bar fabulous Room 301 was our room Very basic and dated but for 2 nights it was doable Well until water started dripping through the ceiling panel outside the bathroom Noticed after we had been out for the day and the carpet was saturated Went down to reception, no customer service whatsoever, they said they would get maintenance to have a look , no apologies no offer of a replacement room nothing We had gone out for dinner and went back to the room and yes the panel looked like it had been ‘sealed’ and an attempt to dry the carpet had been made but still absolutely soaked an hour later water was dripping again The staff had no interest or concern as they had dealt with the problem It has been an awful experience €20 for a basic continental breakfast and €15 for a bottle of lager on the rooftop terrace Won’t be going back there

Perfect location to get on taxi or just walk. Beautiful view from room 409 to see the majestic church just across the street. Magical experience. Breakfast was one of our best ever as for a buffet in a European hotel.

Beautiful room with an amazing view out my window. Excellent breakfast in rooftop restaurant! Definitely stay here again. Very close for us to take the train anywhere, short walk!

Stayed for three days in September. I was a little aprehensive after reading one or two negative reviews after we booked it. Our experience was excellent. Yes the rooms are not the biggest, but it is a classic hotel in the centre of Rome what do you expect. Yes parts need a little redecoration but it is blessed, with iconic high ceilings, chandeliers and decor to match its history. The rooms were kept spotless, staff coud not have been more helpful. The view from the rooftop bar at sunset looking over to the Bassiiclar was stunning. Would not hessitate to come back. Mike and Jackie.
