About the Hotel

The NH Collection Roma Vittorio Veneto hotel is located in the heart of Rome, near the city’s most popular areas...Via Veneto, Villa Borghese Park, Piazza del Popolo, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. As for the building itself, it was once a Vatican-owned convent, but a 2009 refurbishment has given it plenty of contemporary style.

Comfortable, Quiet, and Well-Connected Stay at NHow Roma

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Date of stay: July 28 – August 3, 2025 Room: #625 My wife and I (mid 30’s), had a wonderful stay at NHow Roma. We arrived around 11 a.m., and although check-in was scheduled for later in the afternoon, the staff immediately took care of our luggage, offered us coffee in the lunch area, and promised to prepare our room as soon as possible. Impressively, our room was ready within an hour, allowing us to freshen up before heading into the city. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with a large illuminated balcony perfect for late-night drinks. Outlets included USB and USB-C ports, and there was plenty of storage space for two adults traveling for 12 days. Everything worked perfectly, from the shower, to the WiFi, to the lighting. While the TV didn’t support casting, it wasn’t a major issue for us. Just a 5-minute walk from the hotel is a Deco supermarket offering fresh meals, pizza, cold cuts, cheese, and essentials like water, juice, beer, and snacks, all reasonably priced. The location is slightly removed from the main tourist spots, but well-connected. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, 40 minutes to the Vatican, and a bit more to the Colosseum. By taxi, bus, or metro, everything is reachable within 10 minutes. Just make sure to activate your bus/metro tickets to avoid fines! Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options and an excellent coffee machine. It’s not immediately obvious that you can request specific egg dishes like omelets, but once you ask, the staff is happy to prepare them. The hotel also provided a reusable fabric bag (very handy!), two water bottles daily, and comfortable bathrobes and slippers. The concierge was always available to help with taxis. If you’re planning to use public transport or budget for taxis, I highly recommend this hotel as your base in Rome. If you prefer walking everywhere, keep in mind that the hotel is farther out and the walk back is uphill. That said, the area is quiet, comfortable, and extremely safe. Whether you walk north, south, east, or west, you’ll discover many great spots nearby. Taxi fare was €60 from FCO airport to the hotel and €40 from the hotel to CIA airport.

Okay but hassle

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It takes 40 minute from the airport during normal hours and during heavy traffic from 0730-10 am it takes 60 minutes. We recently spent five nights at the nhow Hotel in Rome, staying in two Junior Suites—one with a balcony and one without. While the hotel presents a bold, modern design and generally courteous staff, our experience was marked by several comfort and service-related shortcomings that may affect the overall value for international travelers. Technology & In-Room Amenities The rooms lacked modern in-room entertainment features—no smart TVs or screen mirroring capabilities, reportedly due to internal security restrictions. This limits flexibility for guests accustomed to streaming their own content. We also encountered issues with some of the power sockets/outlets not functioning properly in both suites. This created inconvenience, especially when charging multiple devices. In addition, complimentary bottled water is limited to two bottles per day, even for guests staying in higher-tier rooms. This felt restrictive, particularly considering the summer climate and the hotel’s premium branding. Breakfast & Dining Experience The breakfast buffet was moderately varied and in line with a 3-star standard. Offerings included: Pastries, croissants, bakery cakes Three types of bread Cereal mix Fruits such as watermelon and honeydew melon Scrambled eggs, poached eggs, and sausages Three types of juices Coffee machines Made-to-order omelettes (although the omelette we received was soggy and bland) While the buffet covered basic continental options, vegetarian and gluten-free selections were very limited, and no clear allergen labeling was provided. Service during breakfast was courteous but slightly strained. Staff appeared visibly stressed, and English proficiency was limited among several team members, sometimes making communication challenging. Room Condition & Maintenance Our stay in two Junior Suites—one with a balcony, one without—was impacted by several maintenance concerns. Beyond the power outlet issues noted above, the suites also had: A non-functioning thermostat in both rooms. An excessively noisy air conditioning unit Bathroom plumbing issues, including a clogged drain and water leakage The views from the rooms were also underwhelming, looking out onto a busy, traffic-heavy area that lacked scenic appeal. These conditions suggest a need for more consistent maintenance, especially in rooms marketed as premium. Additionally, the hotel does not provide in-room microwaves, and guests are not permitted to reheat food due to internal food safety policies. While this may be policy-driven, it stands in contrast to what is offered even at many mid-range hotels. Guest Service & Staff The staff were overall helpful, and we appreciated the efforts of the team throughout our stay. A special thank-you to Carbine, a staff member who went above and beyond with professional and attentive service. Despite occasional language barriers, most staff made genuine efforts to assist. However, the breakfast team appeared fatigued and under pressure, which was noticeable during peak hours. Additional Charges It’s worth noting that ice delivery to the room carries a €10 room service fee, even for Junior Suite guests. While ice is free at the bar, this policy makes in-room relaxation less convenient and feels inconsistent with expectations for a 4-star experience. Location & Accessibility The hotel is located in a heavily trafficked area. While some sites—such as the Spanish Steps (approx. 18-minute walk) and a nearby garden (10 minutes on foot)—are accessible, major attractions like the Colosseum and St. Peter’s Basilica typically require a 15–18 minute taxi or car ride. Over several days, these transportation costs may become significant for tourists. Conclusion Our five-night stay in two Junior Suites at nhow Rome offered contemporary design and genuinely helpful staff, but was offset by recurring issues—ranging from room maintenance and electrical faults to restrictive guest policies and limited dietary accommodations. With targeted improvements in upkeep, service flexibility, and more guest-centric amenities, the property has the potential to deliver a more aligned 4-star experience for international visitors to Rome.

4 night trip to Rome and an ironing room!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Great hotel, staff extremely friendly, rooms very comfy, we all had a good night sleep. Lower floor has a bar selling snacks, drinks etc a good place to drop in after a hard day exploring Rome. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, the concierge/door man was excellent, There was a good ironing room based on the 3rd floor which was well equipped with steam irons. We took a taxi to all the tourist spots,Spanish Steps,Trevi Fountain were close enough to walk but it was far too hot. Vatican, Colosseum and Trastevere area required a taxi/UBER. The location of the hotel was in a relaxed calm area.

A must staying!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Loved this place! My family stayed here without me first. I came to Rome to join them in a cruise, and returning to Rome from the cruise, we were set to stay in a different hotel, but they all agreed NH was a must staying for me, and decided to changed our reservation to stay here again. It's a hotel with carachter, located in the charming Villa Borghese, with an impeccable service, and excellence in hospitality. A big shout out to the guest relation team (Francesco, Paola, Ilaria...), that went above and beyond to make our experience here an exquisite one!
