Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese

We arranged to stay here for our 25th anniversary, and it was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and responded quickly to any requests that we had (extra pillows, finding a way to turn down the heat, etc). We felt very well taken care of. Our room was large and comfortable. Drinks at the rooftop bar were great, I had an old fashioned and an Aperol spritz that I’m still thinking about several days after our trip. Breakfast felt equally lush, I can personally vouch for the selection of pastries, bruschetta, fruits, yogurt, cappuccino, fresh juice and cheeses. (There was a ton more stuff that I never got to.) Location was also pretty ideal, not more than 30-40 minutes walking to all the major tourist sights, and a lot closer to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. I was grateful to stay here. Thanks for such a great experience!

Beautiful Sofitel property in a very central location. We were fortunate enough to stay in a wonderful luxury suite which was located one floor below the restaurant. This stunning suite afforded us a lovely large clean suite with stunning views and beautiful sunsets to be enjoyed across Rome. Highly recommended property offering all the luxuries associated with the Sofitel brand. Special mention to Mossamon (Concierge team) who was so helpful and attentive and certainly went the extra mile to help us secure our stay at this stunning hotel. Thank you!

This was our first time staying at the Sofitel Roma and we chose this hotel because of my Accor loyalty, location and amenities (re: fitness room). Prior to arrival the concierge assisted with restaurant reservations as well as a small group tour for the Villa Borghese as we waited too long to get advance tickets ourselves. The hotel is in a very convenient location to walk to most of the sights in Rome and is lovely. We booked a standard “premium” room on the hopes of an upgrade but upon checkin even though reception said we were upgraded, it was a very small room. Beautiful but small. The fitness room was also not as expected given the photos on the website. Very limited equipment so not suitable for a decent morning workout. After lunch and a nap (we arrived three hours late from the US so admittedly we were tired and a bit surly), we asked about an alternative for fitness as well as a larger room. The manager (I’m embarrassed I can’t remember her name and she was delightful) was incredibly receptive to our concerns and offered us a larger room and access to a local gym. We had our Accor loyalty welcome drink up on the 7th floor Settimo restaurant and it was a great experience with a fantastic view. I’m not sure when/if I will return to Rome but I would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, this is a great hotel with a luxury vibe in a cool city. I was booking from overseas in another language and the reservations manager was lovely and helpful... sorting great rooms at a good price. I would recommend anyone that like Softel's join All Accor as the benefits and recognition help. That staff at reception (doormen, concierges, reception etc) are all lovely, welcoming, helpful and more importantly present. They are all multi lingual to a degree as well! To be fair, we splashed out and reserve two of the best rooms in the hotel (701 and 702) with fabulous views over the city to the Vatican, so its probably not a fair reflection of all rooms in the hotel. What we did get was great rooms, awesome daily servicing and turn down, comfy bead, great showers, nice linen, plenty of space etc etc (check the photos) The location is pretty awesome as its 5-10 min walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain and views over the city. The only down side is those views means there is a walk up the hill at the end of the day (about 50 vertical metres). That said, it gets you away from all the craziness and their are some great restaurants in the neighbourhood and a pharmacy almost next door for the panadol and voltaren Breakfast in the roof top restaurant provides awesome views to start the day and the food was was good with great choices. I was personally a little disappointed with dinner as drinks were on the expensive side and the food was ok but not great (small portions and perhaps trying to be a bitt to avant guard). There is a lot of competition within 500m rating 4.5 and above so it should be better. But hey - first world problems.

Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is a beautiful hotel in a quiet area, about a 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are lovely, although smaller than I expected, and they are comfortable for two people. The bed is very comfortable as well. Overall, it is an excellent choice.
