In a serene oasis in the heart of Rome, the five-star Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is an enchanting boutique hotel. Set in a historic building, dating back to the 1890s, the hotel enjoys splendid views over the Villa Borghese Park. The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Via Veneto provide the backdrop to the area catapulted to fame by the 1960s movie 'La Dolce Vita.' Today it is the exclusive reserve of dazzling designer boutiques, restaurants and bars.

Overall, this is a great hotel with a luxury vibe in a cool city. I was booking from overseas in another language and the reservations manager was lovely and helpful... sorting great rooms at a good price. I would recommend anyone that like Softel's join All Accor as the benefits and recognition help. That staff at reception (doormen, concierges, reception etc) are all lovely, welcoming, helpful and more importantly present. They are all multi lingual to a degree as well! To be fair, we splashed out and reserve two of the best rooms in the hotel (701 and 702) with fabulous views over the city to the Vatican, so its probably not a fair reflection of all rooms in the hotel. What we did get was great rooms, awesome daily servicing and turn down, comfy bead, great showers, nice linen, plenty of space etc etc (check the photos) The location is pretty awesome as its 5-10 min walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain and views over the city. The only down side is those views means there is a walk up the hill at the end of the day (about 50 vertical metres). That said, it gets you away from all the craziness and their are some great restaurants in the neighbourhood and a pharmacy almost next door for the panadol and voltaren Breakfast in the roof top restaurant provides awesome views to start the day and the food was was good with great choices. I was personally a little disappointed with dinner as drinks were on the expensive side and the food was ok but not great (small portions and perhaps trying to be a bitt to avant guard). There is a lot of competition within 500m rating 4.5 and above so it should be better. But hey - first world problems.

Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is a beautiful hotel in a quiet area, about a 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are lovely, although smaller than I expected, and they are comfortable for two people. The bed is very comfortable as well. Overall, it is an excellent choice.

Luxurious and spacious - unusual for a place in Europe. The proximity is nice and not too close to the crowds. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Thanks Bentodasilva Maite!

Enjoyed my stay at this lovely hotel! The location was perfect and my room was modern and comfortable and decorated very nicely. My favorite was the restaurant in the hotel which had the most amazing Italian food and the view from this rooftop restaurant overlooking ancient Rome was breathtaking! Hope to return to Rome one day and also to this beautiful hotel

Arrival to hotel was excellent - concierge organised a driver for us from the airport which was very convenient after a long international flight. Staff on the front desk were friendly and welcoming! We used our Platinum Accor membership to book a suite - a large and nicely decorated space with two toilets, lounge room and bedroom with small balconies. The bathroom and shower are very large - sadly, very little storage space in the bathroom for cosmetics. The welcome amenities in our room acknowledging our Platinum status were a very nice touch… chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco. We dined at the rooftop restaurant on two occasions for dinner - the outdoor terrace at sunset is lovely, and the food and service was also good. Evening aperitivo hour can get very busy so make sure you book a table and arrive early to avoid disappointment. Breakfast is a solid affair with eggs able to be ordered to go with your buffet. Hotel is a good location but it is at the top of a steep hill climb which could be difficult for those with mobility issues. Only issue to report - a few issues with room servicing… cleaning staff not checking if bathroom toiletries needed to be replenished and batteries replaced in remote controls (at this price point this should be expected).
