We enjoyed our week-long stay at Villa Agrippina very much. The staff were friendly and professional. The room had a nice garden view and was comfortable and spotless. We enjoyed strolling thriugh the extensive gardens, which were meticulously maintained. The location adjacent to the Vatican and the Tiber was super convenient. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and we enjoyed the tapas dinner at their Amaro restaurant very much. This charming five-star hotel offered a perfect haven for our long explorations of this great city.

Top location and an oasis of tranquility. Great hotel with very nice accomodations, but the kindness of the people working there truly made it a very nice experience.

The Good: Lovely grounds and location (10 minute walk to The Vatican); Staff are extremely pleasant; Shower in room is awesome; breakfast buffet extremely well done and replenished. The Bad: Pricing is Zurich-like (20 Euro for single-shot of Woodford Reserve at the bar) and 100 Euro lunches (charcuterie platter, small salad and 2 beers) and 10 Euro for small diet coke in minibar. On-site store - 450 Euro for a shirt! The Ugly: Charging guests 50 Euro per person per hour to use the Spa (Hint: Go to any 5-star resort or hotel in Germany, Austria or Sudtirol and entire Spa facilities are included and wonderfully textile-free. See, Stanglwirt or Birkenhof or even Bayerischerhof München). Swimming pool, while "free" was only open 11:30 - 17:00, precluding an early morning or evening swim when most would enjoy it. People are site-seeing during the day. See photo of empty pool. Maybe because it is a chain hotel?
