Hotel Lone

The hotel itself, the building, the rooms and the facilities, definitely live up to the five-star standard. Admittedly, the architecture and interior design give off more of a corporate-office or co-working-space vibe rather than a traditional luxury hotel atmosphere, but that’s a matter of taste. Personally, I found it to have a certain modern charm... Unfortunately, the positive impression fades quickly once you step outside. The pool and beach area do not at all reflect the same five-star quality as the hotel itself. The contrast between the elegant rooms and the disappointing outdoor spaces leaves a sense of imbalance, which makes the overall experience less enjoyable. The pool is shared with a nearby four-star hotel that attracts a very different type of crowd than the Lone Hotel. As a result, the pool was overcrowded from morning until evening, not only with guests from the other hotel, but also with people who were clearly not staying at either property. Since there was no control or proper management of the pool area, outside visitors were simply allowed in, which meant that for us, paying five-star guests, there was often no space left at all. The same issue continued at the beach. The designated areas were completely overrun by non-hotel guests, with sunbeds “reserved” as early as 8 a.m. and often left unused or misused for most of the day. Once again, this made it very difficult for Lone guests to actually find a spot to relax, which was both frustrating and disappointing. The rooms and location do make up for part of the experience, but the pool and beach management is truly disastrous, far below the standards of a five-star hotel, and frankly, a major letdown.

Hotel Lone in Rovinj belongs to the Maistra Hotel chain - set in immaculate green and lush gardens in a small quiet bay its a beautiful designed hotel with modern interiors. The rooms are super spacious - we were a family of 3 - bathroom all comfortable. The staff and concierge is really always helpful and big thank you for all the kind help. The breakfast was very fresh and delicious, this is our 3rd time back at the hotel. One small comment regarding the pool: Lone shares the pool with its sister Hotel Hotel Eden (4*) and the pool sunbeds were full of guests from Hotel Eden - so sometimes this causes a a problem in finding sunbeds if you go after 10-11am (after breakfast) some kind of seperation would help as all other sister hotels nearby have their own swimming pools. other than this warmly recommeded and cant wait to be back next year too!

What a wonderful hotel, in an idyllic spot with the friendliest and most helpful staff! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lone, which is within easy walking distance into the picturesque Rovinj. Special mention to the customer services and concierge who organised a trip for us, assisted with a restaurant booking and to top it all provided a celebratory gift for our 5th wedding anniversary. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, especially the omelettes. Pool was busy but never too crowded and the staff did a good job of removing towels if people were absent for longer than 1 hour ( fair enough IMHO) . The room was full incredibly spacious with a walk in shower and heated bathroom floor. Such a special place, we would highly recommend.

Very nice room, beautiful hotel and great location. The beach was extremely busy but that is to be expected in the summer . Walking distance to restaraunts and bars. I would stay here again

We just came back from a two week family vacation at Hotel Lone in Rovinj and it was a mix of really positive impressions and one big disappointment. Traveling with two kids aged 12 and 9 we loved the design of the hotel which feels modern and stylish, and the overall cleanliness both inside the hotel and throughout the property was excellent. The rooms are well equipped with very comfortable beds and even two types of pillows hard and soft which made sleeping very pleasant. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower and plenty of room to move around. For families the connecting setup is great since the parent and kids rooms are two full double rooms joined by a door so you really get proper space. The breakfast buffet was generous with a wide selection and the food quality at both breakfast and dinner was high. Our balcony had a couch table and a small drying rack and the clever use of a mirror gave us a nice side sea view which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately the pool and beach situation is unacceptable for a five star hotel in this price range. We paid more than 10,000 EUR for two weeks and expected to be able to get sunbeds at the pool or hotel beach if we went there around 9 am. The reality was that by 9 am not a single sunbed with shade was available. Guests from the hotel and especially from the other cheaper Maistra hotels that share the pool and beach had already reserved everything early in the morning and even during the night with towels. This meant that unless you wanted to get up at six in the morning and claim a chair with a towel you had no chance. For a hotel that markets itself in the luxury segment and charges these rates this is simply not acceptable. People paying this kind of money do not want to fight for a sunbed like at a three star mass tourism resort. It is really a shame because apart from this issue we enjoyed almost everything. But for us this problem is a deal breaker and we will not return to Hotel Lone.
