Spent 2 weeks in this hotel in Rovinj with my family - top location in Roving, breakfast was amazing. Beach is separate topic - huge and clean. 1 major minus - this isn't 100% pet's friendly hotel as it stated. In breakfast you have only have around 10 tables where you can sit with your dog. Dogs at the beach are not allowed.

Lovely hotel, this is a large hotel with good sized rooms. The reception staff a friendly and speak good English. There were many well behaved dogs which felt strange. It was an extra €40 a night, which I assume goes towards extra cleaning. The common areas and rooms were kept spotless. Breakfast had a lot of options including rice pudding and plum crumble, which was a hit with my sweet toothed teen. There was no toaster though and I do like toast for breakfast. One day there were thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The E restaurant was fully booked, so we headed up to order room service. We were expecting a long wait, but it arrived in under 30 minutes. The pool area is nice and the Oleander restaurant there serves some lovely food. The beach is pebbles and the sea is shallow and very warm (August 26).

Before booking our holiday, we spent a long time comparing hotels in Rovinj and reading countless reviews. We chose Hotel Lone because of its beautiful design, excellent location, outstanding facilities and exceptional reputation. The hotel exceeded every expectation we had. What truly makes Hotel Lone special is not only its stunning architecture and facilities, but the people behind it. Our 8-day, 7-night family holiday began with an unexpected reservation issue following an unsuccessful payment. Arriving during the peak summer season, when accommodation was extremely limited, we genuinely worried that our holiday might not even be possible. A heartfelt thank you to Petra from the Concierge team. From the moment we arrived that evening, she welcomed us with remarkable kindness, empathy and professionalism. She patiently listened to our concerns, reassured us, and stayed with us throughout the entire process instead of simply telling us there was no booking. The following morning, Petra and Autra greeted us again and presented a thoughtful solution for our entire stay. They arranged accommodation for the first two nights, followed by one night in an accessible room, and finally upgraded us to a beautiful suite for the remaining four nights. The amount of care, coordination and genuine hospitality behind this plan was extraordinary. We would also like to thank Roland from Housekeeping. His warm smile, thoughtful attention to detail and beautifully prepared room each day made us feel truly welcomed. Another highlight was the hotel’s Art & Paint and Ceramic classes. The painting instructor patiently adapted each lesson to every student’s interests, while the ceramic instructor explained every step in detail with incredible patience. Both experiences were relaxing, creative and perfect for families. Problems can happen anywhere. What defines a truly exceptional hotel is how its people respond. Petra, Autra, Roland and the entire Hotel Lone team showed us the kindness and humanity that cannot be captured in photographs. That is the true heart of Hotel Lone, and we would happily return.

Thought I would write this whilst we are still here, we are now at the end of our stay. This is a lovely hotel with very helpful and polite staff. There are so many positives (which I will list, however I do want to get the negatives over first) Breakfast - lots of variety, friendly staff however the food and coffee is cold. As the hot food is under heat lamps this shouldn’t be the case. Price of water, 3.60 for a small bottle of water is extortionate. The price of drinks also varies depending which restaurant/ bar you go to. The drinks you receive whilst at restaurant E are served by the lobby bar, however the price of the drink is more expensive if you go sit at the lobby bar? Children run riot here (more a parent issue than hotel) riding scooters up and down halls, even around the breakfast seating area. We sat is restaurant E last night and children were going up and down in the lifts from level 1 to 2 screaming and shouting whilst riding on scooters - no one stopped them. Level 2 is reception and not one person asked them to stop. For a 5* hotel I find this behaviour is unacceptable and cheapens the hotel. I am a parent myself and never would allow my children to behave this way. We have seen so many near misses and someone will get hurt before long. There is no shop on site and it’s a 20 minute walk to the nearest one, there is space on level 0 for them to have a small onsite shop. Now the positives, the rooms are huge with stunning views and are meticulously cleaned. No sunbed wars here, although if you want a lounger at the pool or beach be down before 11am as past this time they are all taken. They do monitor the beds and we have seen towels removed from beds that haven’t been used for a couple of hours. The pool is communal and shared between lone and Eden next door as they are all part of the hotel group. Restaurant E is fantastic and I am surprised that not many people use it. Lovely staff, reasonable price and good food. The grounds are very well maintained and the whole hotel is clean. The hotel itself is very modern. I do think it would benefit from an adults only area, I appreciate this is a family hotel however it is nice to sometimes sit and eat/chill/read in a quieter setting. I would return here as we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, however I do feel the hotel needs to toughen up with some of the guests as it spoils the stay for the rest of us.

We have been coming to this hotel for five years, so this review comes from someone who genuinely likes the place and has chosen to return many times. There is still a lot to love: the rooms are spacious, the views are beautiful, the sea is absolutely amazing, and overall the service remains good. We have always enjoyed staying here, especially as a large family. That said, this year was the first time we left feeling slightly disappointed. The prices have increased significantly, almost double compared to what we used to pay, while it doesn’t really feel like the hotel or the experience has improved accordingly. In some areas, it actually feels like there has been a slight downgrade. For example, sunbeds that used to be included with the stay now come at an additional cost. Breakfast is good, but almost exactly the same every day. For a short stay, this probably isn’t an issue, but when staying for a longer period, it becomes very repetitive. By the last few days, some of us simply stopped going to breakfast and chose to eat elsewhere. There were also a few smaller details that felt strange for a hotel in this price range. Previously, bottled water was provided, whereas this year reusable bottles were filled with what was described as “homemade water.” We weren’t quite sure what that meant. Amenities were also not always replenished automatically, even basic things like soap sometimes had to be requested despite clearly running out. None of these things individually are a major problem, and the staff and overall service are still good. It is more about the general impression. When the price of a hotel increases substantially, you naturally expect the experience to improve with it. Instead, this year it felt as though we were paying considerably more while receiving slightly less. One of the main reasons our large family kept returning was that this hotel offered a great balance between price, comfort, and quality. At the current price point, however, it is now competing with much more luxurious holiday options, which makes it harder to justify some of these changes. We still like the hotel and have many good memories here, but after five years of returning, this was the first year when the price to quality balance no longer felt quite right. Hopefully, the hotel will focus on improving the experience rather than continuing to increase prices while removing some of the things that used to be included. And to be honest, I will give 4 stars because the previous years were great, but this year I would rate it as 3 stars
