Hotel Monte Mulini

A wonderful stay – we would love to return ✨ We had such a wonderful stay at Monte Mulini and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better base for our holiday in Rovinj. As a younger couple, we loved that the hotel felt luxurious and special while still being relaxed, welcoming and never pretentious. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, right by the Adriatic, while still being within easy walking distance of Rovinj’s Old Town. It was the perfect combination for us - exploring Istria during the day and then coming back to somewhere calm and beautiful to unwind. The service was a real highlight. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, attentive and genuinely willing to help with every enquiry. We particularly appreciated the attentiveness at the beach, where the team were consistently helpful and made us feel very well looked after. The personable approach throughout the hotel made a real difference and made the experience feel genuinely personal. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and everything fresh and beautifully presented. We also loved having the pool and beach so close, particularly after busy days exploring Rovinj and the surrounding villages. There were only a couple of very minor things we noticed. On our final night, our usual bath salts weren’t replenished, and we found some of the room lighting a little inconsistent and difficult to operate. These really are small points in the grand scheme of things and didn’t detract from what was otherwise an excellent stay. Overall, Monte Mulini gave us exactly the kind of holiday we had hoped for - stylish, relaxing, beautiful and with genuinely lovely people looking after you. We were very impressed with the whole experience and are already very keen to return. We would absolutely recommend it to couples looking for a little bit of luxury alongside the best of Rovinj and Istria.

Lovely adults only hotel. Rooms excellent, very well appointed. Try to avoid room 11, plant not cut back like adjacent rooms leaving no view, requested a plant trim but was told not possible. Staff very reluctant to move us initially, after 3 nights an alternative was offered for a price. Breakfast was always lovely and the staff very accommodating. Location is excellent with a short walk into Rovinj. No problem with beds by the pool but some were reserving beds before breakfast overall an excellent hotel and would return. Loved the area.

This is a nice hotel with about a mile stroll along the Riva to the Old Town. The room was spacious and light (the photos on the website don’t do it justice – it is nicer than portrayed). They delivered a free bottle of champagne and a birthday cake to our room which was a really nice touch, our travel agent set that up as a surprise but there was follow through. The breakfast staff was super. The front desk was pretty awful – they never looked up to greet anyone coming in or wanting to ask a question. We had to initiate and felt like we were bothering them. The valets were grumpy (except for one nice person) and also made you feel like you were putting them out. This is not something you expect for such a nice resort. Also know that if you really want a “seaview” ask for the highest floor. Anything lower than that and the rooms are somewhat blocked by trees. If you want a beach day, they nickel and dime for chairs and parasol – $100. Free chairs are available on a cement slab, not at all charming, and these chairs are filled as soon as it opens. The pool is really your only option unless you want to deal with paying for a real beach or sitting on a cement slab. The pool is very nice but when you are at a beach resort, it is not my preference to sit by a pool. Also know that those chairs fill up immediately as well. All and all, not a great experience. I hope they address customer service issues after reading this review. I would not stay here again.

Lovely hotel in a great location Beautiful views Superb pool area and great Breakfast Would thoroughly recommend

We had such a wonderful holiday here. The room was huge, clean with a beautiful bathroom and balcony overlooking the grounds. We generally went to the beach club as Mulini Beach is set in a beautiful calm bay. The service there was fantastic and plenty of beds available. If you want a true adults only experience then you will need to stay in the pool area as the beach club section is next to a public beach. Breakfast was really varied and delicious and then later a short walk to Rovinj for dinner and drinks in the evening and there are so many lovely options. Highly recommend and we are already looking to book for next year
