The hotel bedrooms are huge as are the bathrooms. Well equipped and very comfortable. The staff are average. The reception staff need to be trained to understand meet and greet and the customer is king. The concierge were helpful. The pool staff were terrific but it proved difficult to get beds and we didn’t enjoy the area by the sea because the beds are on concrete which was very hot. The real problem with this hotel is the food. Lunch and dinner areas were never busy with so many good options in town yet we had to wait one hour for one simple course at both lunch and dinner. Selection was also limited . For that reason I am not giving it 5 stars.

We have just returned from an extremely enjoyable holiday at the Hotel Monte Mulini. It’s in a beautiful setting about 20 minutes walk to the brilliant town of Rovinj . The hotel staff always get positive reviews and rightly so . They can’t do enough for you and are very friendly. They make you feel special . The team around the pool were brilliant and were always looking out for you , The restaurant staff led by Sandra were delightful and genuinely friendly. My only observation is that the Hotel is very sedate at night because so many people wander into Rovinj , which is very understandable. I should also say that this was our first visit to Croatia and it won’t be the last. Jan and John .

Our second visit to the hotel - and the renovations this year didn’t disappoint. The staff are fabulous - friendly and can’t do enough to help - from restaurant to beach club. The location is excellent - and so peaceful - it took us about 30mins to stroll to the centre of Rovinj - and it’s a gorgeous walk . We love the adults only element and the bar has a beautiful view for drinks. Beach club has plenty of beds and very comfy - great drinks menu - limited on food. Super helpful staff. The sea - a little fresh to start off - gorgeous for a cool off . We will be back ! Our observations Breakfast is beautiful - however the timing from the kitchen could be a little hit and miss - not arriving or luke warm. There is a great selection for people who have a gluten free diet. For anyone looking for toast and a full English this is not the hotel you. Staff at breakfast are brilliant! Beds - agree with previous comments re how hard they are - we also struggled to sleep Air con - capped at 21degrees - which wasn’t cool enough for us . Housekeeping - there is no turn down unless you request it - unusual for a 5 star hotel . Agree with other comments re lack of beds around the pool and number reserved which remain unoccupied for much of the day Reception - although you get a voucher there is no offer of a drink or towel on arrival. Unusual for a 5 star hotel - the reception team aren’t very friendly and when we checked out didn’t even ask if we had a good holiday.

There is no doubt that this is a beautiful hotel in a very picturesque setting. The bedrooms, especially those on the 3rd floor overlook the beach and bay. The hotel is situated next to the Golden Cape forest park with lovely shaded walks under trees to reach little pebbly beaches and sunbathing rocks to access the sea. In the other direction you can follow the path next to the sea to reach the pretty old town and harbour of Rovinj. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, having recently been refurnished to a very high standard. Bathrooms were enormous. Housekeeping was very good. The hotel pools and areas are lovely and immaculately clean. BUT we did not like the fact that many people reserve sun beds as early as 7am and then often not returning for hours. There is a sign saying belongings left on beds unattended for 2 hours will be removed, but this was not enforced! On one occasion I observed pool staff placing towels in order to reserve. The sun bed situation will put me off booking this hotel again. There should be a rule that everyone obeys to make it fair for everyone. The breakfast buffet and cooked breakfasts were excellent and the staff very friendly. We only dined once in the Riva lounge. Although the food was very good, it was expensive. Drinks in the restaurant, bars and beach bar are also very expensive, about 9 euros for a very small glass of wine, the cheapest bottle nearly 50 euros. Consequently we decided to eat out locally and had excellent meals in all other restaurants for better value. It seemed as if most guests ate out too. As a result there is no atmosphere in the restaurant or bar, the place lacks “soul”. We came back from eating out one night to find some musicians in the Riva lounge, but only 3 tables of guests. Very sad for the musicians. We enjoyed the free olive oil and wine tasting evening. An unexpected treat. The sommelier “Momo” was very friendly and knowledgeable. In summary, the place looks amazing but did not offer what we were expecting.

This is probably one of the best hotels my wife and I have ever stayed in. With a national park to one side and the town of Rovinj the other side, the setting is relaxing and beautiful. Our room was big and spacious, and for once with a hotel, the room layout had been thought out. There was plenty of storage space with power sockets placed strategically, and a good long platform for unloading one’s cases; the bathroom was huge with a lovely shower and twin wash basins and the wardrobe was double sided, with doors opening both in the room corridor and the bathroom which was very useful! Outside, there were a good many sun beds around the pools which made it very relaxing. Breakfasts were lovely with a good variety and range to choose from (and my wife was delighted to find both lactise free milk and yoghurt available!). Rovinj itself is about a 15-20 minute stroll to the dockside with the numerous restaurants available - however we did eat in due to poor weather one evening and the food was first class. Special mention to Ahmed in the restaurant for outstanding service both during dinner and breakfast(s) during our stay. Having said that the level of service from all staff at the hotel was above and beyond, professional, friendly and very helpful. A lovely hotel in a lovely setting. If tiuva
