With its steepled roof, traditional carillon and symbolic cross, it would be easy to mistake Aranwa Sacred Valley as a place of worship. A jagged Peruvian mountaintop serves as the backdrop for this property, located in Urubamba, about a 30-minute drive from Cusco. Built on a plot of land where an 18th-century colonial hacienda once stood, this riverside hideaway, features a collection of historically-inspired rooms coupled with modern elements and a minimalist design. Architectural excellence abounds at every turn, from the glass-covered orchid pyramid to the 24-seat on-site theater.

We were part of a small tour group from US visiting Machu Pichu and stayed at Aranwa for three days. It was very relaxing and great, luxury accommodations. We used the Spa for a sauna, whirlpool, and massage. Gloria and Luzmarina were our masseuse’s and they were outstanding! We have had massages all over the world and the massages they provided were at the top of all of them. We had the Rumi Massage (Hot stones) and it was wonderful. Highly recommend the resort. Food and staff were great. Koi fish, peacocks, macaws, parrots, alpaca’s on property. Truly an unforgettable experience all the way around! And the apple crisp desert was to die for!

The place has potential: beautiful location and venue However we left early and had to negotiate hard to be able to do so.... Some staff was rude, no possibility to organise excursions out of the hotel, expensive spa, very loud live music in the restaurant... If management would fix this, could be a great place

Beautiful grounds. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet and service. Gilberto was so friendly and helpful. Joseph was also delightful and helpful. We choose this hotel because they offer bicycles. We used 2 rooms because our stay was interrupted by our 2 day trip to Machu Picchu. The first room we stayed in did not have a door between the bathroom and the bedroom areas. We found that difficult. We also found the shower difficult to get into and out of. The second room was more comfortable for us. We enjoyed the hummingbirds, macaws, and peacocks.

This was a very remarkable experience. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms spacious. I came here to sightsee, but really enjoyed the amenities offered at the resort. The food was excellent. A shout out to my waiter, Fabio. I recommend a stay here for anyone.
