With its steepled roof, traditional carillon and symbolic cross, it would be easy to mistake Aranwa Sacred Valley as a place of worship. A jagged Peruvian mountaintop serves as the backdrop for this property, located in Urubamba, about a 30-minute drive from Cusco. Built on a plot of land where an 18th-century colonial hacienda once stood, this riverside hideaway, features a collection of historically-inspired rooms coupled with modern elements and a minimalist design. Architectural excellence abounds at every turn, from the glass-covered orchid pyramid to the 24-seat on-site theater.

Beautiful compound. Incredible landscaping, spacious rooms with excellent showers and large hot tubs. Two dinners and breakfasts were delicious. Best of all, the hospitality of the associates is outstanding.

Gorgeous small resort in the heart of the Sacred Valley. At the end of an unmade road Aranwa is an amazing experience from the moment you arrive. Huge open reception with an incredible stained glass window. You are then escorted to your room, past the Alpacas munching on the grass, the (very cold) swimming pool and the parrots and hummingbirds! The rooms are huge! 2 double beds in both of our rooms (family is 4 with older teens). Huge jacuzzi bath and rain shower. Beds super comfy with lots of blankets and fluffy duvet. Breakfast is a lovely buffet with fresh cooked omlettes, fruit, pastries, toast etc. The staff are super helpful and so friendly! I had a 90 minute massage on the first day. Absolutely incredible and I'm sure it helped me to acclimatise (😉) Restaurant is lovely, tried Guinea pig for the first time (like a lighter duck flavour, quite fatty but nice!). Reasonably priced. Overall really lovely place and a great base for the days it we had to the salt pans and Ollytaytambo and now we are off to Machu Picchu!

My family had a lovely dinner at the hotel’s Pukawi Restaurant. Our server (Yordan) was very helpful in navigating the menu and pointed out some tasty favorites! The hotel itself is also gorgeous and the staff are all very welcoming. I would recommend.

Lovely place, very peaceful. Long dirt road to get there but worth it. Nothing is close so all meals need to be on site but food is good.
