Beautiful Hotel

What a lovely night away we had for our Wedding Anniversary at the old course hotel. From start to finish staff amazing, spa excellent, breakfast so good. Complimentary champagne and canapés to our room was such a lovely touch. The hotel is spotless would recommend. Jigger Inn is lovely for a wee tipple too

The best hotel in beautiful St. Andrews. Every member of staff is courteous, helpful and very pleasant. Meals are exceptional, cleanliness is top grade. I am unable to suggest any areas where they could improve. 10/10

Exceptional stay at The Old Course Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our family had an exceptional experience from start to finish at the Old Course Hotel. From the moment I made our reservation nine months in advance through to checkout, the team was consistently attentive and incredibly helpful—assisting with transportation, day trips, golf tee times, and thoughtfully answering every question along the way. During our stay, we enjoyed an unforgettable range of activities, including land yachting, falconry, clay pigeon shooting, and of course, golf. As a wonderful surprise, we were even upgraded to a suite, which made our stay feel all the more special. Each morning, breakfast was delicious, accompanied by stunning views of the Old Course and the sea. Dinner at The Road Hole Restaurant was simply outstanding—on par with some of the finest meals we’ve enjoyed in major cities around the world. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. A special thank you to the concierge team, who went above and beyond for us at every turn. We are so grateful for such a memorable visit and would return without hesitation.

Sublime 5 stars

Stayed on a Saturday night. Beautiful hotel and you can tell as soon as you enter it this is a 5 star hotel! Staff amazing and treated you so well. Room overlooked the car park but it was quiet and luxurious. Loved the turn down service. Just felt very looked after and special being here. Breakfast was lovely and can see even when busy in the morning they are trying their best and nothing is too much trouble for them. We will return!

Very nice but a couple of slight issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Overall Stay We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Course Hotel and had a lovely weekend. The atmosphere and surroundings were excellent, very quiet and peaceful in a great location, the hotel was very clean, and we particularly enjoyed the spa facilities. Dining Experience There were, however, a few disappointing issues given the hotel’s reputation and price point. During dinner, dietary requirements were not followed, as an octopus amuse-bouche was served despite clearly stating no seafood. The menu variety was also somewhat limited, although we appreciate that visiting in February may have affected seasonal options. At breakfast, service was slow and inconsistent. Tea took over 40 minutes to arrive despite asking twice, and toast never came even after requesting it again. The bar and views from the 4th floor are exceptional and great for relaxing and people watching. Special Occasion We later learned that a note had been added to our booking to acknowledge my birthday, as it was my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, nothing was mentioned or done during our stay, which was disappointing. Room The room was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable with nice selection of coffee and tea. The bathroom was showing its age a little with a loose tap and the mirrors were beginning to deteriorate around the edges. Final Thoughts While these may seem like small issues, they did detract slightly from what should have been a seamless experience especially at the cost
