This is a quality hotel and is very competitive price wise. The rooms are of a high standard and the views are beautiful. The food served in the restaurant is exceptional and the sofas in front of the fire is the perfect ending to your day. There is also a reading room, function room and a very nice bar with lovely sofas. The gardens are amazing and I’m told there is a path that runs along the burn that takes you into St Andrew’s although I’ve not done this yet. A taxi into the town centre is £7-10 so well worth staying outside the busy town if you’re after a peaceful break. It’s just perfect.

Wonderful accommodation. We were here for two nights. Our cottage was clean and stocked with water, coffee, tea and biscuits. The bed was so comfortable and the shower nice and strong. Great breakfasts. Had dinner here too. Everything was excellent including the service. We both had the mushroom soup to start. So delicious with a nice, thick slice of bread. I ordered the Bratwurst (excellent) and my husband had the flank steak, medium rare. The steak was cooked perfectly and the triple cooked chips were crunchy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. Nothing to complain about here except wished we could have stayed longer!

Itison overnight bed breakfast and dinner for a birthday treat. We enjoyed our stay although problems with understaffing for service in bar.

A great stay - coming back after many years - beautiful property and location. Dinner in the restaurant is a must and do enjoy St Andrews itself

We were looking forward to visiting this hotel again but we were very disappointed with our couple of days. The good points. Reception and dining room staff were really nice and couldn’t have been more helpful. Nice large room with a very comfortable bed. Nice grounds for a stroll after dinner. The bad points. We had to wait over half an hour for our bacon and eggs on both days and the dining room was not very busy. We left our room at 9.30 on our second day and returned at 14.00 to find that the room had not been made up. We advised reception but after a wait of over 2 hours it was still not available. We had intended eating at the hotel but gave up and went into town to eat. On returning home I emailed my complaints to the hotel, I am still waiting for any acknowledgment .
