The dignified, turreted Rufflet's Country House Hotel is one of the oldest established country manor hotels in Scotland. This member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is set in 10 acres of award-winning gardens just a mile west of St. Andrews and has been awarded 5 Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. The main house and two separate lodges offer exquisite guestrooms and suites, all furnished with a tasteful blend of contemporary and antique styles. Fresh local produce and prime Scottish beef highlight fine dining at the Garden Restaurant, recipient of a much-coveted two AA Rosettes.

We were very disappointed in the quality of the meals along with other guests during our stay. The staff were very helpful. The hotel itself is lovely along with the well tended grounds.

Rufflets is an absolute gem of a hotel! It has the charming feel of a peaceful, countryside inn, with all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel. The warm and welcoming staff went above and beyond all expectations. The room was spacious, nicely appointed, with a modern bathroom. The hotel features a lovely restaurant serving fine cuisine, cozy sitting spaces near fireplaces, a bar that is a great place to unwind, and lovely gardens. In short, Rufflets is a superb hotel I highly recommend!

Stayed 2-nights for a family wedding. Was warmly greeted at check-in where this took a matter of minutes to sort out. All areas of the hotel from room, bar, outside areas and function areas were all in excellent condition.

We had a delightful short stay at Rufflets. There's a lovely welcoming atmosphere, which is not stuffy, but discretely luxurious. We upgraded to a turret room which was well worth it - the room was excellent. The gardens were lovely for a stroll even in damp November. The breakfast was very good with both kippers and smoked haddock omelette being particular highlights. (I do wish tea and coffee could come in pots however - rather than having to trouble the waitress for refills from isulated jugs). The restaurant was closed on Mondays / Tuesdays so we ate from a more limited menu in the bar. It's a very pleasant location and the food was certainly acceptable. They've also got a good selection of malts as one would expect. So all in all very highly recommended!

Underwhelming experience for what was a special occasion for our family. As shown by my ratings, service and value for money are two aspects that should be reflected upon.
