With its spectacular location in St Jean Bay, Eden Rock – St Barths has been the byword for one-of-a-kind hospitality ever since mercurial French Caribbean aviator adventurer and occasional treasure-seeker Rémy de Haenen first welcomed guests to his Eden Rock home on the ocean, during the 1950s. The place quickly established itself as the preferred private and discreet bolt-hole of many glamourous Hollywood characters who quickly became friends of St Barths. Howard Hughes Greta Garbo Robert Mitchum Gore Vidal Baron Rothschild David & Peggy Rockfeller Princess Lee Radziwill… amongst numbers of other fine beautiful and talented men and women… A sense of safety and freedom was established… and of style… and of casual elegance… and of spirit… and of ambition… and all of which continues to this day and is strengthened now with the regular welcoming of very many current and similarly interesting and brilliant celebrity guests and friends of modern times.

We celebrated my husband’s 80th birthday with our children and grandchildren. The 12 of us stayed at Villa Dunes, a magnificent and private property with 2 pools and plenty of room. The week was beyond our expectations. Our concierge, Florent, and chef, Namika were warm, engaged, professional and delightful. The island was just beautiful with fabulous restaurants and a range of activities for all of us. Our vacation could not have been more special and each of us gives an unqualified 5 stars for our perfect celebration.

Amazing! Rooms, service, food. So friendly and a wonderful stay from start to finish. Can’t wait to return! So courteous and professional. Lovely with the children and any issues dealt with kindly and understanding. We will be back! See you soon!!

We rented a Villa there and had such a great time. The staff is amazing, starting with our concierge Clem, but everyone was great (vallet, restaurant, beach service, Villa team). There is no better option in St Barths!

We had a WONDERFUL experience renting our Villa through Eden Rock. Clement, our concierge, was amazing! Always available to answer questions and extremely helpful with our various reservations. In addition to his friendly welcome, he had arranged for our car to be delivered to our villa. We had champagne, bread, cheese platter and an abundance of lovely amenities awaiting us on arrival. And each morning we woke to freshly delivered baked goods and fresh juices. My only request would have been more variety in the baked goods - but they were a lovely touch. We loved staying in the privacy of a villa and still having access to Eden Rocks fabulous amenities. We will definitely be booking through Eden Rock again soon!

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay with excellent service and well-curated beach experience. The staff were friendly and attentive - from the concierge who reached out well before our arrival, to the beach team who made every day easy and relaxing. The hotel app was convenient to use, and we appreciated thoughtful touches like generous welcome amenities & drinks and collaborations with high-quality brands throughout the property. The room we chose was small and had no opening windows, which made it feel a bit closed in. However, it came with a private pool - a feature the larger rooms didn't offer - so it was a tradeoff we were willing to make. The bed was comfortable, housekeeping was excellent, and the private pool was cleaned regularly (we noticed things like bird droppings gone by the afternoon or next day). The beach experience was a major highlight: Seabob rides were super fun, and the team had everything covered - from pool noodles to floating chairs and sand toys. Frose all day was another amazing perk. The morning yoga class had a beautiful beach view and the instructor was very nice and highly skilled. Unfortunately the exposed location got quite hot (under direct sunlight) midway through, and the meditation portion led to more than 6 mosquito bites, even with bug spray. "Yoga on the rock" felt like a nice idea that didn't quite work for me. Dinner was the one area that didn't match the level of the rest of the stay. While the first night's meal was good, the following dinners felt average - both in terms of flavor and overall service. In contrast, breakfast was consistently enjoyable, with better quality and a more pleasant experience. Again, dinner probably stood out because everything else was handled with great care. We had a great time overall: between the beach fun and wonderful staff, the resort definitely delivered the good vibes. Just don't expect to leave yoga unbitten or a five-star dinner every night.
