The Buccaneer

A perfect honeymoon! Fine dining, a variety of beautiful beaches, free excellent breakfast buffet, free ocean activity rentals, staff that treats you like family, the Buccaneer has it ALL! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in July 2026. When we arrived, they upgraded our room to an ocean view suite because it was our honeymoon! We stayed here for 5 days and enjoyed the restaurants on the property for dinner every night. The food was exquisite. We ate at the Terrace and the Mermaid, and both were some of the best meals we’ve ever had. The service at each place was outstanding. Drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all balanced and delicious. Both restaurants are walkable from your room, or you can order a complimentary shuttle. The free breakfast buffet at the Terrace was also delightful. It is not your average continental breakfast at a hotel. It is fresh-cooked food kept in warmers with lids. Everything is very clean and cross-contamination was rare. My husband is allergic to seafood, and we had no issues while on the island, despite seafood being served everywhere. The potatoes at breakfast were delicious, and free coffee served promptly with a smile made us feel welcomed. We ate breakfast there every day we stayed and tried something new each day. The beaches! They really have a beach for it all. The Mermaid beach is perfect for relaxing in the sand or swimming out or just drinking and wading. Rent paddle boards or kayaks for free and go crazy in this little protected cove. The Grotto beach is perfect for snorkeling (rented for free from the beach shacks) since there’s some reef right outside the entrance points. We saw lots of cool fish. The Whistle beach was nice and secluded. No one was out there any of the days we went. We found some really cool washed up coral and shells on the beach, but didn’t go into the water much there since it’s mostly rocky at the shoreline. The room was perfect. I cannot begin to express how wonderful our ocean view suite was. The balcony is breezy and perfect for enjoying morning coffee while listening to the waves. The bed was comfortable and made freshly daily for us. The room was swept of sand daily and towels replenished. Staff was discreet and only came in when we weren’t there. We left valuables in the room and everything was untouched. Getting around the resort is easy. There are some hills to trek if you’re into that, but if not, shuttles. There is a nice easy trail around the golf course that leads to the Whistle beach and has a beautiful view if you like to hike. We truly had the best vacation ever because we chose to stay at the Buccaneer. We will be returning soon!

A Five-Star Experience I had the pleasure of staying at The Buccaneer for two nights after being relocated from another property, and it completely turned my trip around. From the moment I stepped out of the taxi, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality. The property is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and the service was outstanding from beginning to end. It truly exemplifies the level of service and attention to detail you hope for when staying at a luxury resort. (Buccaneer Resort⁠) A special thank you to Fitzgerald for his warm welcome and friendly transportation around the resort, Elisa in Front Office Operations for making my arrival seamless, and Peter, my taxi driver, whose kindness and local knowledge made getting around St. Croix easy and enjoyable. The Buccaneer exceeded my expectations in every way. It was the perfect ending to my vacation, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Could not be any better, all of the staff, friendly, kind and polite. Christiansted is a five minute drive, the pools and ocean access were a huge +. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay John Fitzsimmons

We live in St Croix, but won a weekend stay at a silent auction at a recent charity event. From the booking process, check in, the stay, meals, and the service, the Buccaneer exceeded all expectations. First of all, the property is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and expansive. The history of this resort is incredibly admirable. We had the absolute best time during our Friday-Sunday stay… so much we were sad to leave. We would highly recommend this resort to any travelers coming to visit. The beaches are beautiful, water is amazing and the pool option by Beauregard’s was one of our favorite places to lay. The room was absolutely perfect. There was nothing that didn’t exceed our expectations. We would love to stay there again!! This will be my favorite auction item to bid on going forward!!! Book the trip….you won’t be sorry.

We stayed at the Buccaneer as part of our family trip to St Croix. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Nice restaurant and beach bar near the pool and beautiful beach.
