My husband and I were so thrilled we stayed here. We only had one night, it was raining, and still the experience from start to finish was amazing. We had a drink in the bar, a fire pit on the porch by a brook and an amazing breakfast. The views all around were stunning.

We enjoyed one night at Alila Napa Valley in December to celebrate a birthday. Our vineyard-facing room included a fireplace and a lovely mountain view, and we were greeted with a half bottle of sparkling rosé—thank you for this thoughtful touch. The atmosphere felt quaint and cozy on a misty, drizzling day. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, and the turn-down service before bed was a nice detail. One downside was that sound travels easily on the deck, making it possible to overhear neighboring guests. We appreciated the in-room amenities, including a soaking tub, separate toilet area, and a Nespresso and tea station. However, the check-in process and overall experience with staff, excluding our bellperson Kevin and the valet team, felt rushed and somewhat uninformative. While the small lobby space may contribute to this, we would have appreciated being told at check-in that the Beringer tasting experience (which offers a 2-for-1 special for Alila guests) closed early during our stay, before we attempted to find last-minute availability. The winter solstice restorative yoga session at the 24-hour gym was a highlight. Although the concierge team sends a pre-arrival survey, it would have been helpful to receive reminders about complimentary offerings like this during our stay. I’d also recommend calling the spa directly to access their co-ed steam room, especially in the winter months. I understand that Alila Napa Valley offers a different experience than some other Alila properties with more inclusive programming, and the location does provide wonderful access to Napa’s food and wine scene. Still, while the physical spaces are beautiful, the overall guest experience felt more impersonal than expected at this price point. During what appeared to be a quieter season, a bit more proactive communication and personalized attention would have elevated the stay and better matched the level of care suggested by the property itself.

Balcony facing the vineyard very nice with a warm fireplace during the rainy season. Bath tub is in particular comfortable and huge.
