We spent one night at Le Petit Pali in St. Helena, and it was unforgettable. They think of every detail to make your stay special, from the welcome prosecco and evening snacks with local wine to complimentary EV charging. And the breakfast… oh my! Fresh bread, homemade butter, green juice, a true taste of France in the heart of Napa. Thank you, Dennis and the wonderful staff, for making our stay so warm and memorable. Not just a hotel, but an experience.

From the moment we arrived at Petit Pali, we were blown away by the attention to detail. Everything here feels carefully curated to deliver a genuine 5-star experience — from the beautifully designed rooms to the thoughtful little touches that make your stay feel personal and special. Douglas was absolutely fantastic — warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The young man at breakfast was also so lovely and attentive, making each morning such a pleasure. It’s rare to find a place that feels this considered in every aspect. Petit Pali isn’t just a stay, it’s an experience — refined, relaxed, and full of charm. This place truly deserves a 5-star rating.

A nice place, newly remodeled, French Provincial style. We stayed for just one Friday night in order to go to a triathlon at Lake Berryessa. The hotel staff welcomed us with some Mumm's Sparkling Rose. But alas, nothing complimentary to eat, and we arrived really hungry, so we ordered some chips & guac and cheese toast. Food here is -- as I guess you expect in the wine country -- all excellent and very high quality. The breakfast had some really nice thick yogurt, granola (with walnuts), huge croissants, and boiled eggs. However, my one complaint about the food was that there was no decaf coffee anywhere in the hotel. Our room had a coffeemaker, but it only had tea pods. We had a room downstairs in the main building. The bed had a feather bed mattress that we really sank into, almost like a water bed. I was worried this would give me back problems, as my mattress at home is quite firm. But we both slept fine with no back issues; I was quite surprised. The room had plenty of outlets and okay wifi. On the downside, the room had no closet, only wall hooks. There's no place to put your cosmetics bag in the bathroom, and we both squished our fingers in the barn door multiple times. The rainfall showerhead was incredibly noisy, like a leaf blower. I was disappointed there was only a small high pedestal table in the room. I had brought my computer to work on while hubby did his tri, but there was no place to use it comfortably. Even the breakfast area only had the same pedestal tables to sit at, and I was told I could not sit at the long table behind reception. There is also no fitness area, although there is a pool. We didn't have time to go downtown, but it would have been quite a walk, as the hotel is about a mile away on the outskirts. The staff is very friendly. My issues with the hotel are really about the furnishings, which weren't practical enough for me. But I've only stayed in the wine country 3x in the last 15 years, and we don't usually drink alcohol, so we don't represent the typical travelers to this area. For our purposes, Le Petit Pali was okay but not the kind of place we normally go to. Hubby only picked this place as closest to Lake Berryessa, altho it was still a 30-40 min drive. BTW we stopped at Mumms on the way home and bought that very refreshing sparkling rose. We also had a great dinner at the CIA Gatehouse. Highly recommend that restaurant!

We had a fantastic long weekend here! Hotel has so many special touches, the beds and pillows were so comfortable too. Gorgeous views and outdoor spaces, it rained during our trip but we can’t wait to return and enjoy the views! Close proximity to St Helena. Highly recommend!
