Owned by native Antiguans, the 30 cottages at Cocos Hotel roost on a cliff and overlook iridescently clear waters, where deep blues and minty greens shimmer in streaks on the horizon. The best way to enjoy the view is swinging in a hammock suspended from the roof of each cottage’s rustic terrace, or drifting to sleep on the netting-enveloped princess bed. Chef Pam Clay's West Indian take on Tuscan cuisine attracts a local following.

We spent 6 days at Cocos and every day was breathtaking. The cottages are beautiful, well kept, and very clean. The food is magnificent with so many options. The beach was clean, inviting, and fun! The only complaint was that there was only 1 snorkel mask to borrow so my wife and I had to take turns.

Small and quaint resort, with the same accommodations you'd expect from large resorts. A perfect get away location for you and your significant other. We loved this location, the staff, and fellow patrons; which made the trip even more memorable.

My husband and I went for our honeymoon. We had a lovely time but the only complaint we had was regarding the food/food service. Since there is no buffet option, it is a lot of pressure on staff to take orders and run the food. A lot of our meals were either incorrect or we’d have to remind them for parts of our order that was missing. For the cost of this stay, we were expecting better service. There also was no late night option which wasn’t great. The food was great quality however the service definitely impacted our stay.

We stayed for a week in one of the beachfront cottages. We lucked out and got the one with the larger pool, just steps from Valley Church Beach. The setting was stunning: calm, crystal-clear water, and a marvelous pool where we spent most of our time when we weren’t in the ocean. The cottage itself was spacious, and we especially loved the outdoor shower. On these points, it’s an easy **5 stars**. Unfortunately, several aspects fell short of expectations for a resort costing over $700 per night. **Food – 2.5 stars** The quality simply didn’t match the price. Service was slow — we’re used to “island time,” but waiting nearly an hour for a jerk chicken wrap was excessive (though it ended up being one of the best meals we had). Other dishes were inconsistent: one snapper lunch was exceptional, but subsequent orders were mediocre. The shrimp were tiny (ummmm...this is an island...they should be at least medium sized) the steak was disappointing, (thin and tough) and overall, the food lacked the wow factor. Very disappointing. **Service** We tipped consistently, for meals, drinks, everything — but it didn’t improve service. Staff friendliness wasn’t the issue, but the pace and attentiveness didn’t meet the standard we’ve experienced elsewhere on the island. **Room** Air conditioning never worked properly. Even after being “fixed,” it never cooled down (felt like high 80's in the room and very humid). We were offered a hilltop room, (which we stayed in 1 evening) but chose to stay beachfront despite sweltering nights. The hilltop room couldn't comprehend to being right on the beach....it did put a damper on the trip. **Water outages** For one full day, the entire resort had no running water: no showers, no toilets, with public restrooms still in use (you can imagine the situation). Another outage lasted about six hours. For a resort at this price point, that’s unacceptable. We understand it has something to do with water lines outside the resort, but this was a first for us in Antigua....never had this happen before. Unsanitary and unsatisfactory to say the least, especially when there's no bottled water, only a glass carafe supplied to the room, which went fast. We resorted to filling our toilet tank with pool water to get by. **Overall** The beachfront location is fantastic, and Antigua remains one of our favorite destinations (this was our sixth visit). But given the food, service inconsistencies, AC issues, and water outages, we wouldn’t stay here again. There are other resorts on the island that offer far better value for the price.

My wife and I loved COCOS so much. The food was tasty, the staff were very polite and hospitable, but most importantly the hotel grounds were stunning. We couldn’t get enough of the sunset every evening. COCOS is definitely a resort we would visit again and recommend to other couples.
