Stayed here after a soccer game in which it was 36 degrees heavy rain and wind. When we entered the hotel o felt a bit like the opening seen in crazy rich Asians except I could not buy the hotel and we were welcomed with bright warm faces. The room was perfect there is a softness and warmth to the room. We had a king bed and rollaway and there was so much space this did not seem crowded at all. Endless hot water was a bonus. Super quiet. Room service food was yummy and elegant and nice big tv that we could watch a movie on while everyone was nice and warm under the blankets. Just needed a fireplace. 😀Just a soothing overall stay.

We didn’t stay at the hotel just visited the bar for a few drinks which were well made and the service was exceptional. They have a fantastic drink menu and also have a sushi bar area and food available also.

I was there for parents' weekend for Wash-U. Stayed in an Executive Suite with Lounge Access. This is one of the top 3 weekends for the hotel each year so it is busy. On top of the parents, they had a wedding going on. They had a few hiccups but overall did a very good job. The management and guest relations team is friendly and wants guests to be happy and come back. Our room was spacious and fine with views eastward toward the city and a distant view of the St. Louis arch; the gym is excellent with 24 hour access, and there is also a steam room and sauna on property, both of which were excellent. There is no swimming pool but the Le Meridien is a 5 minute walk away and they have an outdoor pool from end of May through end of September. You can buy a day pass through resortpass.com. Their pool is a bit chilly by end of September but it's fine. Their rooftop gym is also fine, by the way, with great city views. Dinner at the Italian restaurant Don Alfonso at the Ritz was very good (book ahead). They make good pizza, soup and salad. At the Ritz, if you stay on the club floor, you can't eat breakfast at the downstairs buffet, but the club has an omelet station and there isn't appreciably more food at the buffet downstairs that warrants paying $60 a person to eat it. They had a good band on Friday and Saturday night in the lobby with locals coming out to boogie on the dance floor. From the hotel it is about 15-20 minutes walk to the center of campus and the football field. My only beef with this place is that the air conditioning switches back to Auto even if you set it to something like Medium or High. I don't like this kind of skimping on climate control in a hotel room, and it seems that Ritz Carlton is doing this across their various properties. You can bypass this by asking an engineer to set the AC to VIP setting, but I often forget to do this. Otherwise, the room and the facilities are fine. Staying here for parents' weekend was 3x the price of the Le Meridien and advance payment became nonrefundable 45 days out. Is all that worth it? I'm not sure but we got good value for money and were happy with our stay.

I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton many times over the years and it never disappoints. It is the standard for luxury hotels in St. Louis. The hotel staff was friendly. The room was spotless. The upscale ambiance is second to none. During my most recent trip we stayed on the Club level with access to the Lounge. The Lounge was one of the highlights of our stay. The selection of food and drinks was outstanding! Xavier, who worked in the Club Longue, was very helpful and gave us some great local recommendations. We'll be staying at the Ritz again soon!

We are Platinum members and have stayed at many of the Ritz properties in the US / abroad and unfortunately the St. Louis Ritz does not meet the standards I expect at a Ritz. I would like to acknowledge some shining stars - notably - the efficient and friendly valet staff, and the wonderful staff in the club lounge - namely Xavier who provided the type of service I appreciate in the club lounge (by the 2nd day he had our morning coffee orders memorized and prepped, and was above and beyond helpful throughout our stay). However - there were several missteps with front desk, housekeeping, the "hard" product of the club lounge and with the managerial staff. Housekeeping: came late and on the first day requested did not come until evening, no turn down service at all during our stay. . Front Desk: I booked last minute using points, and spoke with the front desk about the cost to upgrade to club access. I was quoted one price by the staff person I spoke with, but when I arrived - there was no note of it in my record and the 2nd staff member could neither locate who I spoke with nor figure out how to charge it. I signed a form for $150 / night/ room but when I checked out they charged me double that ($150/ night/ person). After half an hour with the manager there was not a satisfactory resolution - I was promised she would track down the form and follow up with me - to date - no follow up (I will update this review if she actually gets back to me). The Club Room: excellent service but both physically smaller than others and the food offerings notably of lower quality and quantity than other Ritz Carltons. I will pass on a future stay at this one.
