What an amazing place and service!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

If you ever have the opportunity to visit the French Rivera, you must experience this place! what a wonderful location, surrounded by magnificent views and gardens. The rooms are impeccable and meticulous in every detail, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The personalized service is second to none. Mauro, the hotel manager, makes sure to interact with everyone and is always there to greet you. The hotel staff are highly professional and attentive, always anticipating your needs and making you feel right at home. A special mention to Layal for her warm welcome! The dinner buffet is simply spectacular, and the food and wine selection are excellent! Chloé-Ann and Enzo made sure we had everything we needed and always with a beautiful smile. You can relax in one of the many pools, exercise in the open-air gym or take a free trip to the beach restaurant or downtown in one of the three Rolls Royces. We highly recommend this place for a first-class vacation!

Terrible stay - kids zoo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

I’ve stayed here a few times before it became part of Les Airelles, and then I started to stay here even more so as with the new management the hotel improved tremendously. Until this Summer. I’ve never had such a stressful and disappointing holiday / hotel stay in my life. And I travel approx 180-200 nights annually, both for work and for pleasure. We stayed here end of August and it was just chaos all through the stay. 80-85% of the guests were families or bigger and loud friends groups, so there was noise wherever you sat or walked on the property. The weather happened to be poor that specific long weekend (rainy days, thunder etc so couldn’t go to the beach) so it was even more visible how this beautiful hotel has become a zoo for families with spoilt children and entitled parents who can’t be kind nor polite to hotel staff. Couldn’t even eat breakfast with peace. There was simply constant CHAOS. So the whole experience became very stressful and unpleasant. Chateau Messardiere has increased their prices so much year on year since a few years now (yes, everyone takes advantage of the pandemic). This year I paid for the cheapest room, 1300€ in high season, but any other room beyond this category goes for the double and upwards from there. In July the prices were so absurd I refused to stay there, starting rate was 3850€ for a rather basic room for 2 people. Imagine listening to screaming children constantly for that price while you’re on holiday… It used to be a hotel with elegant and tasteful crowd (sometimes naf and bit nouveau riche of course…) - but always relaxing there and always with excellent service. This Summer they just couldn’t deliver, it was way too erratic with all these rude families strutting around as if they own the place. Sure the 15% who were lovely and “normal” was there as well, but it was tricky to notice them with all this tacky crap. I am actually still in disbelief after our stay, it’s been nearly 2 months now since we returned back home and I have to write about this so others are aware for next Summer season - I wish I had been warned myself on what to expect..! This hotel has become a children’s playground (apparently a new kids club is the big attraction now for all families). So after many years of coming here a couple of times per Summer, I will never ever stay here again. Please go somewhere else if you want a relaxing holiday. It is way too tasteless now, majority of the guests are terrible. And it’s sad it’s become like this, it was always the best hotel in St Tropez until this year.

A dream hotel, perfection all the way!

The best hotel I ever stayed in. A real 5 stars hotel. It is expensive, but really worth every single penny. Never seen such a beautiful breakfast buffet. The gardens are the prettiest ever, the whole hotel ground is fabulous. The staff are all so helpful, kind, polite. The food, the people, the place is just perfection all the way!!! The Japanese restaurant is delicious. Their beach is very clean, water is transparent, so nice with sunbeds. It was a dream to stay there. They have free shuttles to take you to Saint Tropez town and their beach club. LOVED IT!

The best place on the French Riviera.

Chateau de la Messardiere is outstanding in every sense of the word. When you enter the gates and travel on the road, lined with beautful flowers, up to the hotel you are in for a real treat. The location of the hotel on the highest point between the village of Saint Tropez and the beaches of Pampelonne is superb and the views, in every direction, absolutely stunning. The location is breath taking. We are frequent visitors to Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc and love it, but we feel Chateau de la Messardiere brings it up even a notch higher. The rooms are beautiful. We had a junior suite with a private terrace overlooking the Bay of Saint Tropez. The personalized amenities(like a silk pyjama, a beach bag, a straw hat and a monogrammed notebook) added to the experience. Our first evening we started at the 1904 Bar enjoying great champagne and sipping in the atmosphere. Live entertainment accompanied our drinks as other guests arrived, all dressed up Riviera chic for the evening. We then dined at Matsuhisa the Japanese restaurant where the menu is created by Le Chef Nobu. Amazing views over the beaches of Pamplonne. The food is delicious and accompanied with an extensive excellent wine list. One highligt of the dinner was when our son got served his coke in a crystal carafe - very stylish! Both breakfast and lunch is a real experience at Chateau de la Messardiere. Both are buffet style but with extremely high quality. There is so much delicious, fresh and well presented food to choose from. We normally don´t like buffets but this is something else. Our days we spent relaxing by the lap pool enjoying a glass of ice cold rose' under the pine and olive trees. The late afternoon we spent at the wonderful Spa getting a relaxing massage. We only had two nights here this time and did not have time to experience all the hotel has to offer but we will definitely be back next summer for a full week.
